The Southern Railway on Tuesday announced that the Chennai Egmore – Tiruchi Pallavan Express (12605) will be extended to Karaikudi from September 1. The train (12606) will leave Karaikkudi from September 2. The Chennai Egmore–Karaikkudi Pallavan Express (12605) will leave Chennai Egmore at 3.45 p.m. and reach Tiruchi at 9.20 p.m. It will leave Tiruchi at 9.35 p.m. and reach Karaikkudi at 11.25 p.m. the same day. The Karaikkudi – Chennai Egmore Pallavan Express (12606) will leave Karaikkudi at 4.30 a.m. and reach Tiruchi at 6.15 a.m. It will leave Tiruchi at 6.30 a.m. and arrive Chennai Egmore at 12.10 p.m., the same day. The trains will stop at Pudukottai on the extended portion. There is no change in the composition of the trains, a Southern Railway press release here said.
