KANPUR: The city will get two rail overbridges in near future. One ROB would come up at Khapra Mohal railway crossing and the other at Jaipuria railway crossing. An ROB each is required at Jarib Chowki and Kalyanpur railway crossings. The proposed ROB parallel to existing Govind Nagar bridge has also become a need. The construction of Khapra Mohal and Jaipuria crossing ROBs would begin anytime.Khapra Mohal crossing situated on New Delhi-Howrah line and Jaipuria crossing on Lucknow rail route often remain jammed. The road near the Khapra Mohal railway crossing is narrow. This causes trouble to the people, particularly passengers willing to cross over the other side and reach Kanpur Central. In last four years, the city has got two new bridges, one in Cantt on the Allahabad railway crossing and the other in Shyam Nagar on Jhansi railway line. |
