One sleeper class coach of Madurai Express derailed at Khandala Railway station. The incident took place in the wee hours of Friday and no casualty has been reported till now. Due to this incident 3 trains got cancelled and 1 was diverted.

According to a railway official, "The incident occurred at 2.44 am when seating-cum-luggage rake (SLR) of 11043 LTT-Madurai Express derailed while entering platform no. 1 of Khandala station."

As the incident occurred at very low speed, therefore no passenger was harmed in the incident. Railway transferred the passengers of affected coach at Khandala station and moved the train to Pune where alternate coach was arranged and attached in the train.

These trains were cancelled due to this incident -

  • 12127/12128 CSMT-Pune-CSMT Intercity Express 
  • 11010/11009 Pune-CSMT-Pune Sinhagad Express  
  • 12126/12125 Pune-CSMT-Pune Pragati Express 
This train was diverted over different route -

11025 Bhusaval-Pune Express has been diverted via Manmad-Daund route
