Mumbai – Solapur rail traffic got affected yesterday as power tripped off for atleast half an hour when a monkey got electrocuted. The incident happened at Monkey Hill station around 09:54AM that falls under Pune Division of Central Railway. Services were restored around 10:24AM. As the name suggests Monkey Hill station is named as area has large number of monkeys. A senior official of the CRs Public Relations department said – “Monkey was electrocuted when it came in contact with the overhead wire tripping the power supply. To remove the monkey a brief power block was taken.” Train number 11024 Sahyadri Express was affected due to the incident, he said |
