More than 11 crore rupees are collected from passengers by Indian Rialways in the name of Superfast but ironically 95% times such superfast trains never arrives on time. These figures came out in CAG report. What is even more striking, express trains which does not carry superfast charges performed marginally better than superfast trains in punctuality. Indian superfast trains runs with an average speed of a mere 55kmph. According to data released from 2013 to 2016 such trains arrives at their destination late between 95.17% to 13.48%. In total, 21 superfast trains were delayed on 3,000 days out of 16,804 days because they failed to attain the 'superfast' speed. |
