KANPUR: The cattle catching squad of Kanpur Municipal Corporation caught as many as 30 cattle and dogs from various locations of the city including Kanpur Central Railway station on Saturday.Apart from the railway station, the cattle catching squad of KMC also caught cattle from some busy streets of Ghantaghar, Mall Road and Bada Chauraha. The squad caught six dogs from platforms while some dogs were also trapped outside central station in the lanes and bylanes of Railbazar.After covering the central station region, the KMC squad came at Ghantaghar where six oxen and cows were trapped in the net. The cattle catching drive was also launched in the areas like Nayaganj and Birhana road where recent incidents related to cattle menace occurred."32 cattle and dogs were caught by the cattle catching squad on Saturday. The cattle catching drive will also continue on Monday and other weekdays. Hospitals and other areas will be targeted further," said head of cattle catching in KMC, UP Agarwal. Disruption of traffic on roads due to stray animals has become a major cause of concern for daily commuters. |
