Union Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath says it is for the Kerala government to decide what role E Sreedharan should play in the Kochi Metro Rail project.  And Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has put the ball in Sreedharan’s court by saying it is for him to decide the exact role.  Though Kamal Nath has cleared the air over the matter, there is still confusion over Sreedharan’s decision. When asked about Sreedharan’s role in the Kochi Metro, Kamal Nath said:  “The Kerala government will decide.’’He also said the DMRC would provide all possible assistance to KMRL for the  project.Responding to Kamal Nath’s remark, Chandy said in Thiruvananthapuram that the state government has already assigned the responsibility of Kochi Metro project to Sreedharan and that it is up to him to decide the exact role he should play in the project.Chandy told Express that Kamal Nath has cleared  the decks for  DMRC’s participation in the Kochi Metro project. “Already the state government has assigned the full responsibility of Kochi Metro project to Sreedharan,” said Chandy.
