ROHTAK: The family of gang rape victim in Pillu Khera town of Jind district vacated the rented accommodation on Monday, after the railway issued strict directions to its employees not to rent out the official premises to outsiders. The woman, along with her husband and a six years old daughter, moved out of the railway colony, where they had been living in a rented accommodation let out by station superintendent Raghubir Singh about two months ago.Jind SSP Saurabh Singh confirmed to TOI that the family had vacated the premises and was staying elsewhere in the same town. He said the victim continued to be under police protection and that efforts are being made to arrest the absconding accused. The woman was raped by three youths on September 21, when she was alone at her house in the afternoon. The victim's daughter, however, saw her mother in captivity of three youths and raised an alarm after which the neighbours rushed to the rescue.Singh, however, said that the police had also recovered the mobile phone which was used in filming the clip of the woman from two arrested youths, Ballu and Rinku, and sent it for forensic examination at Madhuban forensic lab in Karnal. "The police have added relevant sections of the IT Act in the FIR registered in the gangrape case after recovery of the MMS clips and started further investigation. The third and main accused in the case, Sandeep Kumar, is still absconding and the police have nabbed his father and mother on the charges of harbouring the accused," the SSP said. |
