Indian Railways is mulling to link neighbouring countries through rail network. Centre is also in mood to fast-track the work rail minister Suresh Prabhu spoke about the agreement signed between the Indian Railways and UNESCO. Pabhu said, “We are trying to develop rail connectivity with our neighbouring countries as we have a very cordial relationship with Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar and Nepal.” “Once the railway circuit will be final we can enhance our relationship through tourism, trade, employment.” Apart from this Prabhu told that work to connect all eight north-east state capitals is already underway. This will unleash the true potential of tourism potential of the region. Horticulture, floriculture, handicraft of the region would get a bigger market after the state capitals are connected with the rest of the country. |
