Bogibeel Bridge is India’s longest and one of the slowest project that is yet to be completed. If everything falls into place, engineers in charge says that in December 2017 they will be able to complete this long pending project. 70% of the project is already complete. There are in total 42 girders in the bridge out of which work is ongoing on 29 girders. The work on remaining girders will kickstart in July. Also, laying of railway tracks will start soon. Bogibeel bride is fully made of steel weighing around 70,000 metric tonne and was designed by a company of Denmark. From the last 14 years, after several delays and problems one can see its final shape. The length of Bogibeel Bridge is about 29.45KM that includes road and bridge. Apart from this a 74 km rail link will also form a part of this project. The main objective of this project is to provide direct and easy way to travel from east Assam to Arunachal Pradesh. |
