INTRODUCTION OF NEW WEEKLY EXPRESS TRAIN BETWEEN NAGPUR - JAIPUR

Railways have decided to introduce a New Weekly Express Train between Nagpur and Jaipur for the benefit of passengers.  The details are as under:

Train No 11203 Weekly Express will leave Nagpur at 11.55 hrs o­n every Thursday w.e.f. 26.9.2013 and arrive Jaipur at 14.05 hrs next day i.e. Friday.

Train No 11204 Weekly Express will leave Jaipur at 16.30 hrs o­n every Friday from 27.9.2013 and arrive Nagpur at 19.15 hrs next day i.e. Saturday.

HALTS:      Katol, Narkher, Pandhurna, Multai, Betul, Itarsi, Habibganj, Bhopal, Sehore, Shujalpur, Berchha, Ujjain, Nagda, Ramganj, Mandi, Kota, Bundi, Mandalgarh, Chittaurgarh, Bhilwara, Bijaynagar, Nasirabad, Ajmer, Kishangarh, Phulera, Asalpur Jobner and Kanakpura.

COMPOSITION:      o­ne AC-2 Tier, o­ne AC-3 Tier, 11 Sleeper Class, 3 General Second Class and 2 General Second Class cum Guard’s brake vans

RESERVATION: Bookings for train No. 11203 will open from 21.9.2013.

For the convenience of passengers, Western Railway has decided to provide stoppage to 22903/22904 Bandra (T) – Bhuj AC Express (Tri-weekly) train at Samakhiali station with effect from 25thSeptember, 2013.

Accordingly, Train No. 22903 Bandra (T)–Bhuj AC Express (Tri-weekly) train will reach Samakhiali station at 10.33 hrs & depart at 10.35 hrs.

Similarly, in the return direction, Train No.22904 Bhuj–Bandra (T)AC Express (Tri-weekly)trainwill reach Samakhiali station at 17.20 hrs & depart at 17.22 hrs.

These stoppages have been given o­n experimental basis for a period of six months.

गोरखपुर। रेलवे स्टेशन पर यार्ड रिमॉडलिंग के बाद भी नये और विस्तार वाले प्लेटफार्म पर ढेर सारे काम बाकी रह जाएंगे, जिन्हें पूरा करने में कम से कम तीन महीने का वक्त लगेगा। इसी बीच 24 या इससे अधिक कोच की ट्रेनों को प्लेटफार्म खाली न रहने के चलते शहर के बाहर के स्टेशनों पर खड़ा करना पडे़गा। मतलब साफ है कि बेहतर सुविधा के लिए यात्रियों को तीन महीने का इंतजार करना होगा।
यार्ड रिमॉडलिंग का कार्य 26 सितंबर से छह अक्टूबर तक होगा। इस बीच ट्रैक, सिग्नल, केबल बिछाने और प्लेटफार्म बनाने का कार्य किया जाएगा। लेकिन इसके बाद भी प्लेटफार्म के फर्श की मरम्मत, प्लेटफार्म को साफ सुथरा रखने के लिए पटरियों के अगल-बगल सीमेंटेड फर्श, नये प्लेटफार्म पर बैठने के लिए सीट आदि बनाने के काम बाकी रह जाएंगे। वाशेबल एप्रन (पटरी के बगल में फर्श) को तोड़कर प्वाइंट डाले जाएंगे। प्लेटफार्म नंबर दो पर 100 मीटर एवं प्लेटफार्म तीन पर 300 मीटर पटरी के बगल में फर्श बनाया जाएगा ताकि सफाई के बाद पानी निकल जाए। इन कामों को पूरा करने के लिए तीन महीने का समय लगेगा। एनईआर सीपीआरओ आलोक कुमार सिंह ने बताया कि रिमॉडलिंग के बाद जो कार्य शेष रह जाएंगे उन्हें दिसंबर तक पूरा करने का लक्ष्य बनाया गया है। कोशिश होगी कि इसके पहले ही काम समाप्त हो जाए। इस कार्य के पूरा होने के बाद यात्रियोें को बेहतर सुविधा मिलने लगेगी।
रेलवे स्टेशन पर पानी की किल्लत न हो इसे देखते हुए प्लेटफार्म नंबर दो के पास एक ओवर हेड टैंक बनाया जाएगा। वैकल्पिक तौर पर पानी की व्यवस्था वर्कशाप से की जाएगी।

The State Government will set up a separate company (special purpose vehicle) to implement the proposed suburban rail corridor modelled on the Mumbai mass rapid transit system.A decision to this effect was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here on Thursday.

EQUAL STAKES

The State government and the Railways will have equal stakes in the new company, the Chief Minister told newspersons after the meeting.Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation, which runs the Mumbai transit system, is being asked to prepare a detailed project report. A preliminary report is being requisitioned in the next three months, Chandy added.Formal decisions to this effect will be taken at the meeting of the State Cabinet scheduled for Friday.The suburban services have been envisaged in two separate routes linking the State Capital with Central Kerala. Harippad and Chengannur are the two cities being linked in this manner.

WORLD BANK AID

The Chief Minister expected the World Bank to extend a line of credit to the project which is expected to cost Rs 3,000 crore at an estimated Rs 20 crore per route kilometre.

The most favourable factor going for the project is that there is no need to acquire any land for it.

Shashi Tharoor, Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development and Member of Parliament representing Thiruvananthapuram; State Transport Minister Aryadan Muhammed; Managing Director of Mumbai Rail Vikas Nigam Rakesh Saksena; and General Manager of Southern Railway Rakesh Mishra were also present at the meeting.

TRACK DOUBLING

The Southern Railway General Manager informed the meeting that the long-pending work on doubling of tracks in the Shoranur zone will be completed in a month.

Availability of land has been a major issue holding up the track doubling work here, the Chief Minister observed.

Separately, Chandy announced that the State Government had mooted a proposal to introduce a high-speed train in the Ernakulam-Kannur section, linking Central Kerala with Malabar.

The train will stop only at one point in a district and is envisaged to cover the distance in three-and-a-half hours. The Chief Minister said that the Railways have responded favourably to the proposal.

he Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) has made public its project to build a magnetic train service capable of reaching 600 kmph (373 mph) that is scheduled to go into operation in 2027.

The firm, which already has begun tests with Maglev trains, will start construction of the new line beginning in 2014, it announced Wednesday.

JR Central expects to inaugurate its first commercial route between Tokyo and Nagoya in 2027.

The new model will travel this strech of 286 km (177 miles) in about 40 minutes, instead of the 100 minutes that currently-available Bullet train service requires, the Kyodo news agency said.

Maglev trains function using a system of magnetic levitation created by special motors installed near the rails.

Thanks to the magnetic field the motors generate, the train actually rests up to 10 centimeters above the rails, eliminating contact with the tracks. With air as the only friction-causing element, a situation allows the train to move at higher speeds.

To conduct their testing, the railway company built a 42.8-km (26.5 miles) stretch of track with curves and tunnels in Yamanashi prefecture west of Tokyo.

The firm, which operates the Bullet trains that link the country's four major urban areas - Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka and Nagoya - uses superconducting magnets cooled to a temperature of -273C (-459F) for its trains, thus eliminating electrical resistance and increasing their speed.

The Railway and Law ministries are working out modalities for setting up of a Rail Tariff Authority.Railway Minister Mallikarjun Kharge, who met Law Minister Kapil Sibal today, is understood to have discussed the modalities including legal aspects involved in the constitution of RTA with the latter."The Rail Tariff Authority will be formed after making amendments in the Railway Act 1989 and Railways and Law Ministry are on the same page over the issue," said a senior Railway Ministry official.About the meeting with Sibal, the official said, "There are certain legal issues involved in the formation of the first-of-its-kind body and both ministries are working out modalities for it."Railways has got in-principle approval for the formation of RTA from the Cabinet last month.The RTA, which aims to delink Railways' financial health from politics, would suggest the tariff structure for both the freight and passenger fares from time to time, taking into account the input costs like fuel and energy and volatile market conditions.However, the body is likely to have an advisory role in suggesting fare.The RTA would be a five-member body headed by a chairman.The selection committee for the RTA would consist of Cabinet Secretary, Chairman Railway Board, Finance Secretary and an expert from Railways.

To cater to the increase in passenger volumes, the Railways have decided to extend the running period of the One Additional LHB Executive A.C. Chair Car coach augmented to the fleet of train nos. 12985/12986 Jaipur-Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Jaipur Double Decker Express in both directions by another year i.e. from 19.09.2013 to 18.09.2014.
The other features like timings, route, stoppages etc. will remain unchanged.

Timings of Train No. 17010 Secunderabad–Bidar Express train will be revised with effect from 20th September, 2013.
Accordingly, Train No. 17010 Secunderabad – Bidar Express will depart Secunderabad at 18 30 hrs (instead of 17 30 hrs), depart Begumpet at 18 41 hrs, Sanathnagar at 18 46 hrs, Lingampalli at 19 00 hrs, Shankarpalli at 19 17 hrs, depart Vikarabad at 20 30 hrs, depart Kohir at 21 25 hrs, Zahirabad at 21 35 hrs and arrive Bidar at 22 30 hrs o­n the same day (instead of 21 15 hrs).
There is no change in the timings of Train No. 17009 Bidar – Hyderabad Express.
