In view of press release from SR, more special trains has been announced for the convenience of passengers travelling between Bangalore and Kollam section and the advance reservation for the special trains already started.

The Train No. 06314 and 06313 details are given below…

SPECIAL TRAINS IN KOCHUVELI – BANGALORE SECTION

The following special trains will run to clear extra rush of passengers in Kochuveli – Bangalore sector as per the details given under.

Tr. No. 06314 Kochuveli – Bangalore cityspecial will leave Kochuvelion 3rd, 17th & 31stOctober, 2013 (Thursday) ) at 20.15hrs to reach Bangalore City station a 13.50 hrs on the next day.

In the return direction Tr.No. 06313 Bangalore City – Kochuveli Special will leave Bangalore City station at 15.20hrs on 4th & 18thOctober,2013 & 1st November, 2013 (Fridays) to reach Kochuveli at 10.30 hrs on the next days.

With a composition of one 2AC, two 3AC, 4 Sleeper class, 6 General Second Chair Car, 4 unreserved and two luggages cum break van coaches.

These special trains will have stoppages at Kollam, Kayankulma, Mavelikkara, Chengannur, Tiruvalla, Kottayam Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Trissur, Palakkad, Padanur, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Salam, Dharmapuri Jn., Hosur & Bangalore Cant.

प्रतापगढ़। डेमू ट्रेन को चलाने में आने वाली बाधाओं का निराकरण कर लिया गया है। शीघ्र ही यह ट्रेन प्रतापगढ़ से लखनऊ के लिए चलने लगेगी। यात्री आरामदायक चेयरकार से लखनऊ तक सफर करेंगे।
डीजल इलेक्ट्रिक मल्टीपल यूनिट (डेमू) ट्रेन का संचालन नवरात्र से शुरू हो सकता है। इसके संचालन के लिए सभी औपचारिकताएं पूरी कर ली गईं हैं। ट्रेन में दोनों तरफ इंजन लगे होंगे। बीच में छह डिब्बे यात्रियों के बैठने के लिए हैं। इसमें आरामदायक चेयरकार लगी है। इसके साथ ही अधिक भीड़ होने पर लोगों के खड़े होने के लिए ऊपर इंगल में हुक लगाए गए हैं। ट्रेन के ट्रायल के लिए इसे लखनऊ से प्रतापगढ़ के लिए चलाया गया। रात में करीब ढाई बजे ट्रेन स्टेशन पहुंची और थोड़ी ही देर में लखनऊ के लिए फिर रवाना हो गई। ट्रेन में किसी प्रकार की खराबी आने पर उसे तुरंत ठीक करने के लिए पांच लोगों के ग्रुप को प्रशिक्षित भी किया गया। इसमें टेक्निशियन लाल बहादुर, गफ्फार, रज्जन लाल के साथ ही टेक्निशियन तृतीय सुरेश कुमार पटेल व सफाईकर्मी विष्णू मीना शामिल रहे। इसके अलावा भी कई लोगों को प्रशिक्षण दिया जा रहा है। अभी शुरुआती दौर में इस पर दो टेक्नीशियन और दो सीएनडब्ल्यू विभाग के कर्मचारी चलेंगे।
डेमू ट्रेन तेजी से रुकेगी और तेजी से चलेगी। इसके लिए इसमें एयर ब्रेक की जगह इलेक्ट्रिक डीबी लगाई गई है। इससे यात्रियों को इसमें सावधानी से चढ़ना और उतरना होगा। अन्य ट्रेनों में डिब्बे का भार जमीन तक पहुंचाने के लिए स्प्रिंक शाकर लगे होते हैं। इस ट्रेन में एयरशाकर लगाए गए हैं। यानी अगर कहीं ट्रेन झटका खाती है तो यह झटका आराम से लगेगा।
इस ट्रेन में दोनों तरफ इंजन लगे होंगे। एक तरफ ड्राइवर तो दूसरी तरफ गार्ड बैठेगा। स्टेशन से लौटने की दशा में इंजन नहीं सिर्फ ड्राइवर और गार्ड अपनी जगह चेंज करेंगे। इसके डिब्बों को जोड़ने के लिए आधुनिक तकनीक वाले शेखू कपल लगाए गए हैं जो सिर्फ स्टेट लाइन होने पर ही खुलेंगे। इसके अलावा गाड़ी का बैलेंस ठीक करने के लिए दोनों तरफ बफर लगाए गए हैं। यानी इसे सुरक्षित भी करने का पूरा प्रयास किया गया है।
आम ट्रेनों में चेन पुलिंग करने पर उसकी ब्रेक का एयर निकलना शुरू हो जाता है। ऐसे में ट्रेन में स्वत: ब्रेक लगने शुरू हो जाते हैं। ड्राइवर उसे महज कुछ ही देर किसी तरह से खींचकर ले जा सकता है। इसमें चेन पुलिंग करने पर ड्राइवर के पास लगी बत्ती इंडीकेट करेगी साथ ही उसके साथ लगा बजर बजने लगेगा। ड्राइवर की मर्जी होगी तो ही वह ट्रेन रोकेगा। सीडीओ दिनेश कुमार यादव ने बताया कि ट्रेन का ट्रायल हो गया है। कई लोगों को प्रशिक्षित भी किया गया है। जल्द ही ट्रेन का संचालन शुरू किया जा सकता है।

लखनऊ। गोरखपुर में रेलवे यार्ड नान इंटरलाकिंग के कारण आज 23 ट्रेन निरस्त रहेंगी। यात्रियों को असुविधा न हो इसके लिए उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य सड़क परिवहन निगम ने भी सौ अतिरिक्त बस की व्यवस्था कर दी है।

पूर्वोत्तर रेलवे मुख्यालय के स्टेशन गोरखपुर में यार्ड री-माडलिंग के तहत प्री नानइंटरलाकिंग कल समाप्त हो गया। आज से नानइंटरलाकिंग का काम शुरू हो गया है। इस दौरान सभी जगह सिग्नल टेस्ट किया जा रहा है। यह काम आठ अक्टूबर तक चलेगा। इसके तहत ट्रेन फ्री होम सिग्नल पर चलाई जाएंगी। पुराने सिग्नल के इंटरलाक को समाप्त कर नए सिग्नल का परीक्षण किया जाएगा। इसके चलते 18 एक्सप्रेस और पांच पैसेंजर ट्रेन को निरस्त किया गया है।

कब तक दूर रहेगी दिल्ली

गोरखपुर-गोंडा लूप लाइन पर करीब एक वर्ष पहले आनन्दनगर-बढ़नी तक बड़ी रेल लाइन में परिवर्तित कर ट्रेनों का संचलन शुरू कर खूब वाहवाही लूटी जा रही है, पर हकीकत और ही है। इस खंड के बीच पड़ने वाले स्टेशनों से जुडे़ यात्रियों को अब भी दिल्ली, मुंबई व लखनऊ सीधी सेवा दूर है। यहां के यात्रियों को गोरखपुर या फिर गोंडा पहुंचना पड़ रहा है। बढ़नी से गोंडा तक बीते दो वर्ष से अभी भी लूपलाइन ही है। लिहाजा जनप्रतिनिधियों के वायदे, घोषणा सिर्फ हवा में दिख रहे है और सजा जनता भुगत रही है।

He was accompanied by Chairman Railway Board Shri Arunendra Kumar.  IREEis the largest convergence of global rail industry which provides an opportunity to enhance knowledge and showcase the technological advancement & development in railway and its related sectors.  It is  organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)in association with the Ministry of Railways, Government of India.

Northern Railway has also set up a stall at the exhibition to showcase its  innovations, strengths and milestones. With 7124 route kms, through 1019 stations and by running 1547 passenger trains daily Northern Railway holds premier position amongst all zonal railways. Northern Railway was created o­n 14 April 1952 by merging Jodhpur Railway, Bikaner Railway, Eastern Punjab Railway and three divisions of the East Indian Railway. The first passenger railway line in North India, which opened between Allahabad and Kanpur o­n March 3, 1859 is a part of Northern Railway. The Zonal Headquarters Office of Northern Railway is located at Baroda House, New Delhi. The Zone is divided into five  divisions  which are headquartered  at Ambala,  Delhi,  Firozpur, Lucknow and Moradabad. It remains the largest zone in terms of route Kilometers, even after the re-organization of the Indian Railways into 16 zones.  Bordered by the mighty Himalayas, Northern Railway is spread from the mountainous Shivalik range to the lush Tarai region and the majestic Gangetic plains.

It is this very strength and uniqueness of Northern Railway which  are  exhibited  in form of physical display of models, photographs and videos. Some of the major items exhibited at the Northern Railway stall  are:

For the convenience of rail passengers, Northern Railway has decided to provide additional stoppage to the train no. 22458/22457 Nangaldam- Hazur Sahib Nanded- Nangaldam Superfast Express at Morinda station o­n experimental basis for six months with immediate effect as per the following schedule:

The 22458 Nangaldam- Hazur Sahib Nanded Superfast Express train will reach Morinda station at 05.48 p.m., while in the return direction, the 22457 Hazur Sahib Nanded- Nangaldam Superfast Express train will reach Morinda station at 06.43 p.m. with two minutes stoppage in both the directions.

The other features like route, composition etc. will remain as unchanged.

NAGPUR: Energy conservation is the new mantra at Nagpur Central Railway! The division has set an example for their counterparts in other divisions by taking up 'Urja Saurakshan' project under which it saved power consumption and saved Rs 5 crore.The Nagpur Central Railway is observing 2013 as 'Energy Conservation Year'. On May 31, it launched the mega project to save energy, especially from freight trains which consumes most of the power. Over 170 freight trains operate in the division including zonal interchange.From June-August, the Central Railway could save around Rs 5 crore by bringing down power consumption by 68 lakh units. The Central Railway pays around Rs 400 crore to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company and Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board towards energy bills."We are going hammer and tongs to save energy and have drawn an action plan to save maximum energy to save environment besides money," says divisional railway manager (DRM) Brijesh Dixit, who initiated the process."The consumption was around 13.10 crore units during the same period last year. We brought it down to 12.42 crore units, saving 68 lakh units. At the rate of Rs 7.50 per unit, we could save over Rs 5 crore. Annually, we expect to save over Rs 20 crore, which matters most in the hour of crisis," said Namdeo Rabade, senior divisional electrical engineer (SrDEE) for traction operation (TRO).

In June 2013, the division recorded 7.68 gross tonnes per kilometre (GTKM) with an overall consumption of 4.33 crore units. With GTKM of 8.34, it was 4.37 crore units during the same month last year.

GTKM is the yardstick to measure power consumption of freight trains. Around 1,000 tonnes per km power consumption of a freight train comes to 8 units. A normal freight train can carry over 5,000 tonnes of load.

In July this year, energy consumption was 6.64 GTKM as compared to 8.04 GTKM last year. "However, in August, energy consumption slightly went up due to closure of one of the tracks due to washing away of a bridge near Barbatpur," said Rabade.

With Dixit's support, Sr DEE (TRO) Rabade took lead in energy conservation by drawing simple ways. The conservation model has been working so well that other railway divisions have been visiting Central Railway to study it.

"As part of the drive, lot of counselling is being done via divisional level workshops and seminars. Guidelines for drivers have been issue. Locos of goods train suffering detention for over more than half-hour are shut down," said Rabade.

As per the plans, loco pilots are being given star ratings besides incentives for saving energy. Controllers are also being guided to effectively handle the trains. "Things have been possible due to better coordination between controllers, yard masters and drivers," says SrDOM. Satyendra Kumar.

Twelve Special Trains between Tiruchchirappalli and Sai Nagar Shirdi for Festival Season

In order to clear extra rush of passengers during ensuing festival season, twelve Special Trains will be run between Tiruchchirappalli and Sai Nagar Shirdi as per the following schedule:-
Accordingly, Train No. 06806 Tiruchchirappalli - Sai Nagar Shirdi Weekly Special Train will depart Tiruchchirappalli at 16 00 hrs on 7th, 14th, 21st 28thOctober, 4th and 11th November 2013 (Mondays) and arrive Sai Nagar Shirdi at 03 25 hrs o­n Wednesdays.
In the opposite direction, Train No. 06805 Sai Nagar Shirdi-Tiruchchirappalli Weekly Special Train will depart Sai Nagar Shirdi at 08 25 hrs o­n 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th October 6th and 13thNovember 2013 (Wednesdays) and arrive Tiruchchirappalli at 15 15 hrs o­n Thursdays.
Enroute, these special trains will stop at Srirangam, Vriddhachalam, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Tambaram, Chennai Egmore, Arakkonam, Tiruttani, Puttur, Renigunta, Koduru, Rajampet, Cuddapah, Yerraguntla, Tadipatri, Gooty, Guntakal, Adoni, Manthralayam Rd, Raichur, Yadgir, Wadi, Solapur and Daund stations in both directions.
            These special trains will have 20 coaches viz, o­ne AC II Tier, two AC III Tier, thirteen Sleeper Class, two General Second Class and two Luggage cum Brake Van Coaches.

Local GRP build permanent check-post at one of the Pune Railway Station entrances; Railways official says it will create issues during rush hour

The Government Railway Police (GRP) has locked horns with the Pune division of Indian Railways over setting up permanent check-posts at all three entrances of Pune Station.

While the Divisional Regional Manager was dilly-dallying over the proposal, given the heritage structure of the station, the local GRP office took matters into its own hands and set up a basic brick and cement security post at one of the entrances, adjacent to its own office.

The proposal was forwarded to the divisional regional manager’s office only a month ago and after two inconclusive meetings and a letter that did not yield a response, GRP set up the crude checkpost almost touching the heritage structure.

“We want check-posts where a gunman will be posted round the clock,” Abhay Parmar, GRP inspector, told Mirror. “We felt the need, on account of the crowds at the station and the growing threat perception arising out of terror attacks in the city,” he added.   “We need to understand that Pune railway station is a heritage site and any changes inside or outside require to be cleared by relevant authorities,” Suneet Sharma, divisional regional manager at Pune Station explained.   He also raised other objections to the proposal. “Building permanent structures will congest the entrances to the station and become an issue for passengers during rush hours,” he argued. Up until now, authorities have gone with temporary installations like piling cement bags in a line.

“Such posts can be made in any size and according to need,” Sharma noted. Having said this, the DRM has not closed his door to GRP.

“We will have further talks with GRP on the need and possibility of constructing permanent posts at other entrances,” he said. He, however, has no action plan against the GRP’s unilateral decision to construct a permanent structure outside the heritage structure without the requisite permissions.

“That area is beyond our jurisdiction,” he shrugged off. Interestingly, GRP is not clueless about the formalities involved in pushing through such proposals in a heritage site. “Aware of this, we initiated our talks with the DRM,” Parmar said. But, clearly, his patience ran out quickly.

Every day, over 10,000 passengers pass through Pune Railway Station. All entrances have metal detectors and are manned by police drawn from both the and Railway Police Force (RPF).
