लखनऊ जंक्शन पर अब यात्रियों को ट्रेनों का इन्तेजार खड़े होकर नहीं करना पड़ेगा| दो दिसम्बर तक एसी लाउन्ज बनकर तैयार हो जाएगा जिसका लोकार्पण रेल मंत्री सुरेश प्रभु और गृहमंत्री राजनाथ सिंह कर सकते हैं|
इसके अलावा लखनऊ जंक्शन पर एसकेलेटर लगाने की तैयारी भी शूरू हो चुकी है जिसकी लिए निरिक्षण भी पूरा चुका है| 30 नवम्बर को बसती से इलाहबाद के लिए ट्रेन चलाने की घोषणा भी हो सकती है|
प्लेटफॉर्मों पर लिफ्ट लगाने के कार्य को 15  जनवरी तक पूर्ण करने के निर्देश दे दिए गए हैं|

A special train will depart from Khadki station (Pune) on November 29 to Delhi’s HAzrat Nizamuddin.

01411 NDA Special will depart from Khadki at 12:05PM in the noon and will reach Hazrat Nizamuddin at 04:00PM in the evening of next day.

01412 NDA Special from Hazrat Nizamuddin will run on 26 December to Khadki. This train will depart at 11:15AM in the morning from Hazrat Nizamudddin and will arrive Khadki at 05:50PM in the evening of next day.

Both these trains will stop enroute on the following stations –

Daund, Manmad, Bhusaval, Itarsi, Bhopal, Jhansi, Gwalior, Agra Cant., Mathura

• 05116 Anandvihar – Chhapra Special will depart 2hrs late from its scheduled arrival time
• 11124 Gwalior – Barauni will depari 5hrs approx. late from its scheduled arrival time
• 12282 New Delhi – Bhubaneshwar Duronto will depart 1hrs late from its scheduled arrival time
• 12459 Amritsar – New Delhi Express will depart 2hrs and 20minutes late from its scheduled arrival time
• 12505 Northeast Express will depart 1hr and 45minutes late from its scheduled arrival time
• 12561 Swatantrta Senani Express will depart 12:30 hrs late from its scheduled arrival time
• 13022 Mithila Express will depart 1hr late from its scheduled arrival time
• 13249 Patna – Bhubaneshwar Intercity Express will depart 1:30hrs late from its scheduled arrival time
• 14005 / 14005 Lichchivi Express will depart 10:50hrs / 6:20hrs late from its scheduled arrival time
• 22592 Gandhiddham BG – BDTS weekly express will depart 5:10hrs late from its scheduled arrival time

Railway started special trains in Diwali to clear the extra rush and to provide passengers a suitable option to travel between important stations hassle free. These trains were scheduled to run for a small period of time but overwhelming response from passengers made railways to extend run of most of the trains.

However, due to extra run there is disruption in time table that leads to chaos in rail traffic. These trains now run late and never follow the scheduled time. In Pune passengers were left to wait for entire night on platform when two trains were rescheduled by the railway administration. Pune – Santragachi Express and Pune – Bhuj Express were rescheduled for five to six hours behind the scheduled time.

Varanasi and Jammutawi bound trains are worst hit as they are rescheduled for a whopping 24hrs and 36hrs behind the scheduled time.

To make things worst there the rescheduled time also is not a guarantee that train will depart on that time. Rail administration continuously change the timings leaving passengers frustrated. Passengers opt these trains only when they are left with no other choice to travel between the stations. Since these trains run on demand basis therefore railway does not keep alternative rakes for these trains. This leads to continuous delays as there is only one train that travels between the stations. One will arrive, it is then only other will depart.

Southern railways has announced diversion of four trains to run via Cuttack. These trains used to run via Barang, Naraj Marthapur, Radhakishorepur and Kapilas Road.

As per the new route these trains will now run via Barang, Cuttack, Nergundi and Kapilas Road. Cuttack will serve as a stoppage for these trains with timings given below –

• 15630 Guwahati – Chennai Egmore weekly express will arrive at 09:55PM and will depart after 5 minutes.
• 15930 Didbrugarh – Chennai Egmore weekly express will arrive at 09:55PM and will depart after 5 minutes.
• 12665 Howrah – Kanniyakumari weekly express will arrive at 09:55PM and will depart after 5 minutes.
• 12663 Howrah – Tiruchchirappalli bi-weekly express will arrive at 09:55PM and will depart after 5 minutes.

• 15629 Chennai Egmore – Guwahati weekly express will arrive at 07:30 PM and will depart after 5 minutes.
• 15929 Chennai Egmore – Dibrugarh weekly express will arrive at 07:30 PM and will depart after 5 minutes.
• 12666 Kanniyakumari – Howrah weekly express will arrive at 07:30 PM and will depart after 5 minutes.
• 12664 Tiruchchirappalli – Howrah bi-weekly express will arrive at 07:30 PM and will depart after 5 minutes.

With a view to mobilize extra passenger traffic in December during “Irumudi/Thaipaoosam” festival south Central Railway has made Melmaruvathur a temporary stop in December.

Following trains will stop Melmaruvathur from 14 December 2016 to 09 February 2017 –

• 18496 Bhubaneswar-Rameswaram Weekly Express will be arrive Melmaruvathur at 10:14AM in the morning and will depart just after one minute from 16 December to February 3.
• 18495 Rameswaram-Bhubaneswar Weekly Express will stop at Melmaruvathur from 18 December to 5 February. This train will arrive at 07:54PM in the evening and will depart after one minute halt.
• 15120 Manduadih-Rameswaram Weekly Express will stop at Melmaruvathur from 18 December to 5 February. This train will arrive at 12:14PM in the noon and will halt for just one minute.
• 15119 Rameswaram-Manduadih Weekly Express will stop at Melmaruvathur from December 14 to February 8. This train will arrive at 10:49AM in the morning and will depart after one minute halt.
