To meet the demand of heavy passenger traffic Southern Railway will attach one extra coach in New Delhi – Puducherry – New Delhi express.

Accordingly train number 22404 New Delhi – Puducherry Express will be temporarily augmented with one General Second Class coach till June 25.

Train number 22403 Puducherry – New Delhi Express will be temporarily augmented with one General Second Class coach till June 28.

Southern Railway has announced permanent augmentation of an AC coach in Kamakhya – Yesvantpur Jn – Kamakhya Weekly Express.

Accordingly train number 12552 Kamakhya – Yesvantpur Jn weekly express will be permanently augmented with one AC three tier coach from May 10 and train number 12551 Yesvantpur Jn – Kamakhya Weekly Express will be permanently augmented with one AC three tier coach from May 13.

जम्मू कश्मीर में चेनाब नदी पर बन रहा विश्व का सबसे ऊँचा रेल पुल पर्यटकों के आकर्षण का केंद्र होगा | पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए यहाँ होटल, बंजी जंपिंग तथा मनोरंजन की अन्य सुविधाएं उपलब्ध करने का प्रस्ताव है | 359 मीटर ऊँचा ये पुल दुनिया का सबसे ऊंचाई पर बना पुल होगा जहाँ पर्यटन की काफी उम्मीद की जा रही है | लोग यहाँ आएं और चले जाएं ऐसा नहीं होगा इसलिए पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए बाकी सुविधाओं का भी प्रस्ताव रखा गया है | 
2006 में निर्माण कार्य शुरू होनेके बाद इस परियोजना में काफी बिलम्ब हुआ जिसका मुख्य कारण सुरक्षा थी | 2009 से ये परियोजना आगे बढ़नी प्रारम्भ हुई और रेलवे को विलम्ब से 512 करोड़ का नुक्सान हुआ | चेनाब ब्रिज की कुल लम्बाई 1315 मीटर होगी |

ट्रेनों में भीड़ बढ़ने के साथ ही तत्काल टिकटों का खेल शुरू हो गया है | बुकिंग शुरू होते ही 25 सेकंड के अंदर सभी सीटें भर जाती हैं | सुबह 10  बजे वातानुकूलित और 11  बजे स्लीपर क्लास की बुकिंग शुरू होती है |
हालत ये हैं की काउंटर पर लगे पहले व्यक्ति को ही बड़ी मुश्किल से सीट मिलती है ; दूसरे नंबर पर खड़े व्यक्ति को वेटिंग ही मिलती है| बाकी बर्थ कहाँ जाते हैं पता भी नहीं चलता है| आरक्षण के लिए यात्री का नाम मोबाइल नंबर उम्र लिंग तथा गंतव्य स्टेशन भरने में ही 30  सेकंड तक का समय लग जाता है ऐसे में 25  से 30  सेकंड में प्रतिदिन 150  से 200  बर्थ भर जाएं तो आरक्षण प्रणाली पर सवाल ही खड़ा होता है | 
गोरखपुर से दिल्ली और मुंबई जाने वाली ट्रेनों में तो लोग तीन तीन दिन लगातार तत्काल टिकट लेने के लिए लाइन में खड़े हो रहे हैं परन्तु उन्हें निराशा ही हाथ लग रही है | रेलवे की माने तो गर्मी के दिनों में डिमांड ज्यादा होने की वजह से ऐसा होता है |

रेलवे मंत्रालय ने नए निर्देश जारी करते हुए मरीजों को मिलने वाली छूट जनशताब्दी जैसी ट्रेनों तक बढ़ा दी है | ये आदेश 15 मई से लागू हो जाएगा |
निर्देश के अनुसार अगर कोई मरीज किसी भी मेल या एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन के सेकंड क्लास या वातानुकूलित चेयर कार में यात्रा की छूट के लिए योग्य है तो उसे वो छूट जन शताब्दी ट्रेन में भी मिलेगी | 
इस निर्देश के बाद अब मरीज यात्रा में मिलने वाली छूट को जन शताब्दी जैसी ट्रेनों में यात्रा के लिए ले सकते हैं |

Railway Ministry has decided to grant concession in Second class and AC Chair Car of Jan Shatabdi trains to the Patients who are already eligible to travel in second class and AC chair car of Mail/Express trains. This decision will be effective from May 15, 2017.

The decision says – “A patient who is at present eligible to travel in second class of Mail/Express trains shall now be eligible in Second class of Jan Shatabdi trains and the same shall apply for AC Chair car class too.”

इन ट्रेनों में अस्थाई रूप से लगेंगे अतिरिक्त डिब्बे -
12186  रीवा - हबीबगंज में एक शयनयान 10 और 11 मई को लगाया जाएगा 12185  हबीबगंज - रीवा में एक शयनयान 10 और 11 मई को लगाया जाएगा 19805  कोटा - कटरा में एक शयनयान 10 मई को लगाया जाएगा

Indian Railways will make your journey in AC three tier coaches more comfortable by adding more convenience into the coach. One such coach is waiting for approval from Railway Ministry. There some design changes made into the coach and explained in few points below –

• New beige-cream-grey colour scheme upholstery.
• Graffiti resistant toilet walls
• With help of ergonomically designed ladders access to the top berth will be easy
• For every cabin of eight berths, there are two plug points and six USB ports
• Separate urinals for men and women
• CCTV cameras, special fire and smoke detection and control system will installed into every coach.
• Each berth has been provided a reading light
• The toilet floor is made of a material which does not soil easily

पटना-गया रेलखंड के तारेगना दक्षिणी गुमटी के पास ऊपर बिजली के तारों में मंगलवार सुबह तेज आंधी आने की वजह से एक लाल सारी फंस गयी थी जिस कारण एक पैसेंजर ट्रेन आउटर सिग्नल के पास काफी देर तक रुकी रही | 
पैसेंजर ट्रेन के आउटर सिग्नल पर रुकने के कारण रेल यातायात प्रभावित हुआ और आगे पीछे के कई स्टेशनों की ट्रेनें जहाँ तहाँ थम गयीं| लाल रंग देखकर पहले ट्रेन ड्राइवर को खतरे का अहसास हुआ है लिहाजा उसने ट्रेन रोक दी और सिग्नल का इंतजार करने लगा|
जहानाबाद सूचना मिलने के बाद टेक्निकल टीम मौके पर पहुंची और सारी को निकला| ऑफ द रिकार्ड ट्रेन कर्मी ने बताया कि हमलोगों ने लाल साड़ी फंसी देखकर एतियहात के मद्देनजर ट्रेन रोक दी|

In order to increase passenger carrying capacity Western and Central railway will add 80 new daily services in their suburban fleet from October. At present Central Railway runs 1660 services per day  and Western Railway runs 1290 services per day carrying 85 lakh passengers per day.

Indian Railways carry 2.4 crore passengers per day from which Mumbai suburban section alone forms 50% of share.

Railways will also increase number of coaches in local. Central Railway run many locals with 15 coaches during peak time however Western Railway still don’t run trains with as many number of coaches.
