கோட்டார் ரெயில் நிலையத்திலிருந்து திருவனந்தபுரம் மார்க்கமாக செல்லும் குருவாயூர் மற்றும் மும்பை எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ரெயில்கள் தாமதமானாலும் அங்கு புறப்பட்டு சென்றதால் அந்த வழியாக கேரளா செல்லும் பயணிகள் அந்த ரெயில்களில் ஏறிச்சென்று விட்டனர்.

ஆனால் திருநெல்வேலி மார்க்கமாக செல்ல வேண்டிய பயணிகளுக்கு ரெயில்வே அதிகாரிகள் எந்த ஏற்பாடும் செய்யவில்லை. இதனால் நெல்லை மற்றும் அதை சுற்றியுள்ள நகரங்களில் வேலைக்கு செல்லும் ஊழியர்கள் பெரிதும் அவதிக்கு ஆளானார்கள்.

அவர்கள், ரெயில்வே அதிகாரிகளை முற்றுகையிட்டு வாக்குவாதத்தில் ஈடுபட்டனர். இதனால் ரெயில் நிலையத்தில் பெரும் பரபரப்பு ஏற்பட்டது.

இந்த தகவல் அறிந்து ஹெலன்டேவிட்சன் எம்.பி.யும் ரெயில்நிலையத்திற்கு வந்து அதிகாரிகளுடன் பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடத்தினார். அவர்கள் உயர் அதிகாரிகளை தொடர்பு கொள்ளும்படி கூறியதால் அவர், திருவனந்தபுரத்தில் உள்ள உயர் அதிகாரிகளை செல்போனில் தொடர்பு கொண்டார்.

ஆனால் எந்த அதிகாரியையும் தொடர்பு கொள்ள முடியவில்லை. இதுபற்றி ஹெலன் டேவிட்சன் எம்.பி. கூறியதாவது:–

கோட்டார் ரெயில் நிலைய பிரச்சினைகளை பேசி தீர்க்க பலமுறை முயற்சி மேற்கொண்டு வருகிறோம். ஆனால் உயர் அதிகாரிகள் இதற்கு ஒத்துழைப்பு அளிப்பது இல்லை. இதனால் பயணிகளுக்கு பெரும் பாதிப்பு ஏற்படுகிறது.

அதிகாரிகள் ஒத்துழைததால்தான் பிரச்சினை முடிவுக்கு வரும். இதுபற்றி மீண்டும் நான் உயர் அதிகாரிகளை சந்தித்து புகார் செய்வேன்.

South Central Railway Andhra Lalitha Kala Samiti will present “Sanskruthi Sangam” a cultural festival of Drama, Music and Dance. Programme is jointly organized by South Central Railway and West Central Railway from 2ndOct to 4th Oct, 2013.
Shri K L Pandey, Additional General Manager, South Central Railway will be the Chief Guest and will inaugurate “Sanskruthi Sangam” at Rail Niliyam Auditiorium, Secunderabad at 15:30 hrs o­n 2nd October, 2013.
Programme o­n 2nd Oct, 2013 at Rail Nilayam Auditorium: - Shri Chatla Sree Ramulu, renowned Artiste & Director and Shri Vinay Varma, renowned stage artiste will deliver Guest Lectures o­n Theatre; Bade Bhai Sahab, a playlet by West Central Railway at 17:30 hrs; Kinu Kahar Ka Theatre, a playlet by South Central Railway at 18:15 hrs; Oh Dad Chill, a playlet written by Shri K.L. SCR Makes Available 2.4 Lakhs Additional Reserved Berths / Seats Through Originating Special Trains and Augmentation of Coaches in October, 2013

South Central Railway has initiated several measures to smoothly handle the rush of passengers inthe ensuing Dassera festival season during the month of October, 2013, as detailed below:-
1) Running of 137 Special Trains: SCR has already announced 101 originating Special Trains to be run during the month of October, 2013. In addition, 36 special trains will be passing through SCR during this period.Thus, the services of 137 special trains would be available for the passengers o­n SCR, apart from around 700 regular trains being run every day. It signifies a growth of 47% in the number of special trains being operated in Oct.2013 compared to Oct.2012, when 93 special trains were run(79 originating and 14 passing through).
These special trains will be operated o­n busy sectors, especially linking twin cities to various popular destinations such as Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Vijayawada, Machilipatnam, Renigunta, Mumbai, Kolkata, Nagercoil, Guwahati, Mangalore, Kollam etc. In addition, special trains will also be run between Tirupati and Aurangabad also. Theoriginating special trains will provide reserved berths / seats for around 1,11,872 extra passengers during October, 2013. Moreover, these special trains can cater to thousands of unreserved passengers also by way of travel in the general coaches.
2) Temporary Augmentation of Coaches: Based o­n an analysis of the Passenger Traffic Profile o­n various routes, temporary augmentation of composition of several Express trains is being done by attaching additional coaches.
During October, 2013, SCR will attach 1088 extra coachesby way oftemporary augmentation to many popular Express Trainsrunning o­n routes like Secunderabad-Tirupati; Hyderabad-Tirupati; Hyderabad-Narasapur; Hyderabad-Trivandram; Kacheguda-Yesvantpur; Kachiguda-Chitoor; Kacheguda-Chennai Egmore; Kacheguda-Akola; Tirupati-Machilipatnam; Tirupati-Karimnagar; Kakinada Town-Bangalore; H.S. Nanded - Mumbai; H.S.Nanded-Pune; Guntur-Vikakrabad; Secunderabad-Hazrat Nizamuddin and Tirupati-Hazrat Nizamuddin etc. These extra coaches include 41 AC First Class, 45 AC Two Tier, 70 AC Three Tier, 164 AC Chair Car, 552 Sleeper Class and 80 Second Class Chair Car Coaches and will generate additional reserved accommodation to clear around 1,32,158 extra passengers. These additional coaches have already been fed into the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) and are available to the public for making reservations.
3) Attaching extra Coaches o­n a day-to-day basis: In addition to temporary augmentation of coaches as mentioned above, the waitlist position for different classes in various trains o­n busy routes is also being closely monitored o­n a daily basis.Extra coaches to the extent possible are being attached to the trains, which have long waiting list to help clear the waitlisted passengers o­n the travel day.
All the available resources are being put to maximum use to increase the number of trains/coaches so as to enhance the passenger carrying capacityon Railway system.
Through the above steps, around 2.4 lakhs additional passengers will get benefited with reserved accommodation o­n SCR’s originating /terminating trains, apart from thousands of other passengers travelling in the general coaches of the special trains during the month of October, 2013.

Chaos and confusion are plaguing the railway ministry as most of the crucial and senior most positions remain vacant including the post of Chairman of Railway Board.
After the recent Rs 10 crore bribery scandal which hit the railway ministry, involving transfer of senior officials to various plum posts in the ministry, the placement of senior officials in sensitive positions has been completely derailed. Former railway minister Pawan Kumar Bansal was embroiled in this cash-for-post scam, after his nephew Vijay Singla, allegedly took bribe for getting posts fixed in the ministry.New railway minister M Mallikarjuna Kharge is yet to take any firm initiative to fill the nine empty posts. These vacancies have caused confusion in the ministry, affecting its functioning and virtually leaving it direction-less.The current nine positions which are lying vacant are Chairman, railway board, member (staff) and seven general manager level posts. According to ministry officials, there are officers who have been deputed additional charge to take care of these posts, which includes, the  responsibilities of member (staff) being looked after by member (electrical) Subodh Jain. The post of the chairman is being handled by member (mechanical) Arunendra Kumar. Even for the general managers’ jobs there have been respective allotment of additional charge to officials. West Central Railway manager of Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) is also handling the charge of secretary South East Central Railway (SECR) in Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh). Incidentally, the railway ministry is one of significant ministries, as there are 2 crore and 30 lakh passengers who travel in various trains every day. 

The ministry runs nearly twenty thousand trains on a daily basis out of which 11,000 are passenger-carrying trains and 9,000 freight trains. The ministry currently has on board 13 lakh employees. During the Nitish Kumar tenure in the ministry, there were nine zones, which have been expanded to seventeen existing ones.

‘None of the posts actually lie vacant because we already have officers who have been given additional charge to handle these posts. ,’ a ministry official told Millennium Post.

DMRC today achieved the second & final tunnel breakthrough of ITO Metro station in the presence of Mr. Mangu Singh, Managing Director, DMRC & other Directors. With this breakthrough DMRC has completed the tunnelling work between Central Secretariat to ITO stretch of Delhi Metro’s Phase – III project.   The breakthrough was achieved after completing 700 meters long tunneling on the Down line of the Mandi House– ITO stretch. The breakthrough on the 678 metres long Up Line was achieved on 18th September 2013.   This maximum depth of the tunnel is 18 meters below the earth’s surface and it has gone the deepest below Tilak Bridge.   The excavated earth was deposited at Mukundpur Depot. Earth Pressure Balancing Type TBM from Shanghai Metro Shield Corporation was used to concrete the tunnel. The TBM cutter head rotated at the rate of 0.7 to 1.5 RPM.   The internal diameter of the tunnel is 5.7 mts. A total of 467 rings were inserted in the tunnel with each ring consisting of 6 segments. The casting of the segments was done at the Mundka Casting Yard.

புதுடெல்லி : முக்கிய நேரங்களில் கூட்ட நெரிசலை சமாளிக்கும் வகையில் சுமார் 400 பயணிகள் வரை பயணம் செய்யக் கூடிய வகையில் பெரிய ரயில்பெட்டிகளை தயாரிக்க ரயில்வே திட்டமிட்டுள்ளது. இதுபோன்ற 120 மெகா ரயில்பெட்டிகளை தயாரிக்கும் திட்டத்தை ரயில்வே தயாரித்துள்ளதாக ரயில்வே அமைச்கத்தின் உயர் அதிகாரி தெரிவித்தார். தற்போது, ஏசி வசதியில்லாத ரயில் பெட்டிகளில் மொத்தம் 250 பயணிகள் பயணம் செய்யலாம்.

இதில் சுமார் 90 பயணிகள் அமர்ந்து செல்ல இருக்கை வசதிகள் உள்ளன. ஆனால், “தினமும் காலை மற்றும் மாலை நேரங்கள் மற்றும் விழா காலங்களில் ரயில்பெட்டிகளில் 250க்கும் மேற்பட்ட பயணிகள் ஏறி பயணம் செய்வதால், ரயில் பெட்டிகளின் தாங்கும் திறன் பாதிக்கப்படுகிறது. அதிக பளு காரணமாக ரயில் பெட்டிகளில் உள்ள ஸ்பிரிங்கள், அச்சுகள், உதிரி பாகங்கள் அடிக்கடி சேதம் அடைகின்றன. பயணிகள் நெரிசல் அதிகரிப்பதால், வலுவான ரயில் பெட்டிகளை தயாரிக்க வேண்டிய நிர்பந்தம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளதுÓ என்றும் அந்த அதிகாரி தெரிவித்தார்.

சாதாரண ரயில் பெட்டிகளில் உள்ள இரும்பு சக்கரத்தின் அச்சின் எடை 16 டன். புதிய திட்டத்தின்படி, தயாரிக்கப்படும் வலுவான பெரிய ரயில்பெட்டியில் சக்கர அச்சின் எடை 19.5 டன்னாக இருக்கும். இதன் மூலம் அந்த ரயில்பெட்டியில் 400 பயணிகள் வரை பயணம் செய்யலாம்.

பயணிகள் கூட்ட நெரிசல் அதிகம் உள்ள மார்க்கங்களில் பெரிய ரயில்பெட்டிகள் இணைக்கப்பட்ட ரயில்கள் அதிகபட்சமாக 130 கி.மீ. வேகத்தில் இயக்கப்படும். இதற்காக 120 மெகா ரயில் பெட்டிகள் தேவைப்படுகிறது. இவற்றை தயாரிக்க ரயில்வே திட்டமிட்டுள்ளது. இதனால், ரயில்வேயின் வருவாய் அதிகரிக்கும் என்றும் அந்த அதிகாரி கூறினார்.

எக்ஸ்ட்ரா தகவல்

ரயில்வேயில் மொத்தம் 2,39,281 சரக்கு ரயில்பெட்டிகளும், 59,713 பயணிகள் ரயில்பெட்டிகளும் 9,549 ரயில் இன்ஜின்களும் (இதில் 43 நீராவி, 5,197 டீசல் மற்றும் 4,309 மின்சார ரயில் இன்ஜின்களும்) உள்ளன. நாடு முழுவதும் தினமும் சுமார் 10,000 ரயில்கள் இயக்கப்படுகின்றன. இவற்றில் தினமும் சுமார் 2.50 கோடி பயணிகள் பயணம் செய்கின்றனர்

இதில் சுமார் 90 பயணிகள் அமர்ந்து செல்ல இருக்கை வசதிகள் உள்ளன. ஆனால், “தினமும் காலை மற்றும் மாலை நேரங்கள் மற்றும் விழா காலங்களில் ரயில்பெட்டிகளில் 250க்கும் மேற்பட்ட பயணிகள் ஏறி பயணம் செய்வதால், ரயில் பெட்டிகளின் தாங்கும் திறன் பாதிக்கப்படுகிறது. அதிக பளு காரணமாக ரயில் பெட்டிகளில் உள்ள ஸ்பிரிங்கள், அச்சுகள், உதிரி பாகங்கள் அடிக்கடி சேதம் அடைகின்றன. பயணிகள் நெரிசல் அதிகரிப்பதால், வலுவான ரயில் பெட்டிகளை தயாரிக்க வேண்டிய நிர்பந்தம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளதுÓ என்றும் அந்த அதிகாரி தெரிவித்தார்.

சாதாரண ரயில் பெட்டிகளில் உள்ள இரும்பு சக்கரத்தின் அச்சின் எடை 16 டன். புதிய திட்டத்தின்படி, தயாரிக்கப்படும் வலுவான பெரிய ரயில்பெட்டியில் சக்கர அச்சின் எடை 19.5 டன்னாக இருக்கும். இதன் மூலம் அந்த ரயில்பெட்டியில் 400 பயணிகள் வரை பயணம் செய்யலாம்.

பயணிகள் கூட்ட நெரிசல் அதிகம் உள்ள மார்க்கங்களில் பெரிய ரயில்பெட்டிகள் இணைக்கப்பட்ட ரயில்கள் அதிகபட்சமாக 130 கி.மீ. வேகத்தில் இயக்கப்படும். இதற்காக 120 மெகா ரயில் பெட்டிகள் தேவைப்படுகிறது. இவற்றை தயாரிக்க ரயில்வே திட்டமிட்டுள்ளது. இதனால், ரயில்வேயின் வருவாய் அதிகரிக்கும் என்றும் அந்த அதிகாரி கூறினார்.

ரயில்வேயில் மொத்தம் 2,39,281 சரக்கு ரயில்பெட்டிகளும், 59,713 பயணிகள் ரயில்பெட்டிகளும் 9,549 ரயில் இன்ஜின்களும் (இதில் 43 நீராவி, 5,197 டீசல் மற்றும் 4,309 மின்சார ரயில் இன்ஜின்களும்) உள்ளன. நாடு முழுவதும் தினமும் சுமார் 10,000 ரயில்கள் இயக்கப்படுகின்றன. இவற்றில் தினமும் சுமார் 2.50 கோடி பயணிகள் பயணம் செய்கின்றனர்
