Denouncing the railway freight tariff hike as a measure that would accelerate inflation and further affect the economy and people, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today urged the Centre to immediately withdraw the increase."At a time when inflation is skyrocketing due to continuous increase in the price of petroleum products, the hike in railway freight tariff by the Centre is akin to adding fuel to fire," Jayalalithaa said in a statement here.Criticising the 'dynamic pricing policy' being followed by the Centre in classifying railway freight tariff under 'busy and lean season' categories, she said the classification was artificial and unjustified."Due to the hike in tariff, the price of all essential commodities and raw materials for industries like cement, coal and iron will increase."When the cost of food products is already witnessing a continuous increase, the hike in railway tariff will have a spiraling effect and lead to further inflation, she said.

इस सर्दी में भी कोहरे की संभावना के चलते ट्रेनों को दो से तीन महीने के लिए निरस्त करने की तैयारी शुरू हो गई है।

इनमें लखनऊ मंडल की पैसेंजर ट्रेनें अधिक संख्या में निरस्त रहेंगी। इसके चलते जहां आम यात्री को असुविधा होगी वहीं, लखनऊ मंडल प्रशासन की आय भी प्रभावित होगी।

उत्तर रेलवे मुख्यालय ने चार मेमू सहित 20 ट्रेनों के निरस्तीकरण का प्रस्ताव लखनऊ मंडल प्रशासन को भेजा है।

साथ ही बोर्ड मुख्यालय ने रायबरेली के यात्रियों के लिए विशेष इंतजाम करने के भी निर्देश दिए हैं। �

बोर्ड मुख्यालय उत्तर रेलवे लखनऊ की 20 ट्रेनों को रद्द करने की तैयारी कर रहा है। निरस्तीकरण की सूची में शामिल ट्रेनें वाराणसी-प्रतापगढ़-लखनऊ के बीच चलने वाली 1/2 वीपीएल पैसेंजर, 54333/34 (1/2एलबी), जनता एक्सप्रेस (14265/66 ) हैं।

इसके अलावा ऊंचाहार व रायबरेली के बीच कुछ ट्रेनें निरस्तीकरण की सूची में है। हालांकि वरिष्ठ मंडल वाणिज्य प्रबंधक अश्विनी श्रीवास्तव वैकल्पिक ट्रेनों की व्यवस्था करने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं।

साथ ही उन्होंने कई ट्रेनों के निरस्तीकरण के प्रस्ताव पर आपत्ति भी दर्ज कराई है। मालूम हो कि रेलवे बोर्ड ने पिछले साल कोहरे के चलते मंडल की 10 ट्रेनों को दो से तीन माह के लिए रद्द किया था।

कष्टदायी होगा पर्वत क्षेत्र का सफर
अमान परिवर्तन के कारण नैनीताल एक्सप्रेस के बरेली से लालकुआं तक रद्द होने से पर्वतीय क्षेत्र की ओर जाने वाले पर्यटकों के लिए मुश्किल खड़ी हो गई है।

अब नवंबर के अंतिम सप्ताह से ट्रेन जनता एक्सप्रेस (14265/66) के रद्द होने के बाद हरिद्वार, ऋषिकेश और देहरादून जाने वाले यात्रियों को खासी दिक्कत होगी।

इसके अलावा लखनऊ से गुजरने वाली ट्रेन हावड़ा-देहरादून दून एक्सप्रेस (13009/10) और हावड़ा-हरिद्वार कुंभ एक्सप्रेस (12369/70) में लखनऊ कोटे की सीटें बहुत कम होने से भी यहां के यात्रियों को परेशानी होगी।

Many train services will be delayed due to non-interlocked works at Shoranur railway station.The Railways has instead arranged bus facility for passengers from Shoranur, Ottappalam, Kuttippuram and Thrissur stations. Railways informed that Chennai-Egmore express will arrive at Shoranur station till Oct 2. The high speed express trains such as Rajadhani will continue service via Shoranur.The following trains will be diverted via link line without touching Shoranur station duly providing additional stoppage at Wadakkanchery and Ottappalam.

The Ministry of Railways has decided to introduce two new trains viz. Secunderabad – Hubli – Secunderabad Tri Weekly Express & H.S. Nanded – Nangaldam – H.S.Nanded Weekly Superfast Expressas per the following schedule:-

Train No. 17320/17319 Secunderabad – Hubli – Secunderabad Tri Weekly Express
Train No. 17320 Secunderabad – Hubli Tri Weekly Express will depart Secunderabad at16 00 hrs o­n every Monday, Thursday and Saturday with effect from 3rdOctober 2013 and arrive Hubli at 07.50 hrs o­n the next day.

In the return direction, Train No. 17319 Hubli – Secunderabad Tri Weekly Express will depart Hubli at 20.50 hrs o­n every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with effect from 4th October 2013 and arrive Secunderabad at 11.45 hrs o­n the next day.

Enroute, this train will stop at Begumpet, Lingampalli, Vikarabad, Tandur, Sedam, Chittapur, Wadi, Gulbarga, Ganagapur Road, Hotgi, Indi Road, Bijapur, Basabanabagewadi Road, Almatti, Bagalkot, Badami, Hole Alur, Gadag and Annigeri stations in both directions.

The Train will comprise of 16 coaches viz, o­ne AC II Tier, o­ne AC III Tier, six Sleeper Class, six General Second Class and two Luggage cum Brake Van Coaches.

The inaugural service will flagged off by Hon’ble Minister for Railways o­n 2nd October 2013 at Hubli. The inaugural Train No.07319 Express will depart Hubli at 12.00 hrs o­n 2nd October 2013 and arrive Secunderabad at 03.30 hrs the next day.

Train No. 22457 H.S.Nanded – Nangaldam Weekly Superfast Express will depart H.S.Nanded at 11.00 hrs every Saturday with effect from 5th October 2013 and arrive Nangaldam at 20.25 hrs o­n the next day.

In the opposite direction, Train No. 22458 Nangaldam – H.S.Nanded Weekly Superfast Express will depart Nangaldam at 16.20 hrs every Thursday with effect from 3rdOctober 2013 and arrive H.S.Nanded at 23.45 hrs o­n the next day.

Enroute, this train will stop at Purna, Basmat, Hingoli, Washim, Akola, Malkapur, Khandwa, Itarsi, Habibgunj, Bhopal, Bina, Jhansi, Gwalior, Agra Cantt., Mathura, New Delhi, Panipat, Ambala Cantt., Chandigarh, Sahibzadar Ajitsingh Nagar (Mohali), Roopnagar and Anandapur Sahab in both directions.

The Southern Railway has announced, the train services between Chennai Beach and Tambaram will be suspended on Saturdays and Sundays due to maintenance work.

It is said that due to maintenance work in the electric lines in the Electric railway track between Chennai Beach and Tambaram, trains will be suspended from today till 3rd of November. Reports said, instead, on Saturdays and Sundays 4 trains will be operated on express train tracks.
