The Kanjikode Industries Forum has urged the Railways to start the construction of the Railway Coach Factory at Kanjikode for which the foundation stone was laid one-and-a-half-years ago.Addressing media persons here on Friday, forum office-bearers said the coach factory was announced in the 2008-09 railway budget but the work had not yet started. The State government had handed over 92.04 hectares of land to the Railways two years ago.The Railways also received a proposal for joint venture with Steel Authority of India (SAIL) that had promised to complete the project within two years. But the Railways had not yet accepted the SAIL proposal. Instead it had gone for global tenders seeking a private partner to implement the project, they said.The forum leaders said this would further delay the Rs.550-crore project. The project at Rai Bareli announced along with the Kanjikode factory had started rolling out coaches. But the factory promised for Palakkad had not become a reality yet, they said.The forum leaders urged the Union Ministers and the MPs from Kerala to take a united stand to put pressure on the Union government and Railways to end the uncertainty over the factory.

Delegation to Delhi

A delegation of the forum would visit Delhi to meet the Railway Minister and Union Ministers from Kerala to urge them to take up the matter with the Prime Minister, they said.

The forum was ready to cooperative with political parties and other organisations to launch mass agitations for the factory. They said the industrial units at Kanjikode were paying an annual tax of Rs.200 crore to the government. But many of the units were in crisis.

चंडीगढ़ रेलवे स्टेशन का आधुनिकीकरण जिस तेजी से चलाया जा रहा था, अब उसमें सुस्ती देखी जा रही है। रेलवे बजट से पहले चंडीगढ़ रेलवे स्टेशन को विश्व स्तर का बनाए जाने के लिए काफी प्रयास किया जा रहा था। चंडीगढ़ रेलवे स्टेशन पर काफी काम आरंभ किया गया था परंतु अब भी विश्वस्तर का बनने के लिए काफी कुछ करना बाकी है। स्टेशन पर पंचकूला की ओर एक प्लेटफार्म बनाने की योजना है। इस पर काम तो आरंभ किया गया था जैसे पंचकूला की ओर की जो ट्रैक था उसे सीधा किया गया। प्लेटफार्म के लिए स्थान बनाया गया, लेकिन अब इस काम में देरी हो रही है। इस संबंध में चंडीगढ़ के व्यवसायी मदन मदान का मानना है कि पवन बंसल द्वारा रेल बजट में की गई घोषणाओं में कई काम अधर में लटक गए हैं। हालांकि स्थानीय स्तर पर कार्य किया जा रहा है। इसके अतिरिक्त मंडल स्तर पर भी काम हो रहा है। इस संबंध में रेलवे स्टेशन अधीक्षक प्रवीण कुमार का मानना है कि कई काम अपनी रफ्तार से हो रहे हैं। जैसे जैसे बजट आता है वैसे वैसे काम बढ़ाया जा रहा है। प्लेटफार्म नंबर छह के लिए टेंडर निकाला जाएगा। कुल मिलाकर इस प्लेटफार्म के लिए यात्रियों को अभी इंतजार करना होगा। यात्रियों का मानना है कि यदि चंडीगढ़ से ट्रेनों की संख्या बढ़ेगी तो इसके लिए प्लेटफार्म बढ़ाने की जरूरत होगी।
स्टेशन अधीक्षक प्रवीण कुमार का मानना है कि जल्द ही नए प्लेटफार्म व अन्य रुके कामों के लिए टेंडर निकाला जाएगा तभी काम आरंभ हो सकेगा।

MUMBAI: Ministry of Railways have decided to run 16 superfast Air-conditioned special trains between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) and Santragachi in Oct-Nov to clear extra rush of passengers.

A Central Railway spokesperson said, " Train No. 08059 AC Special Train will leave LTT every Friday at 12.45 am from Oct 11 to Nov 29. It will arrive Santragachi at 8 am next day. "

From Santragachi, the train no. 08060 will depart on every Wednesday at 6.05 am from Oct 9 to Nov 27. The train willarrive LTT at 1.35 pm next day. The reservation bookings for both the trains will open from Sept 23.

The spokesperson said, "The trains will have halts at Kalyan, Igatpuri, Nasik Road, Manmad, Bhusval, Akola, Badnera, Wardha, Nagpur, Gondia, Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakradharpur, Tatanagar, Kharagpur.:

The train composition includes, One First AC, Four AC-2 Tier, Seven AC-3 Tier, One Pantry Car and 2 Generator cum Guard's Brake vans.

NASHIK: The pre-launch run of the Rajdhani-like, fully air-conditioned train from Mumbai to Delhi via Nashik, on Central Railway, has been scheduled for Tuesday.

The bookings for the train - announced as a special train running between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) Kurla and Hazrat Nizamuddin, New Delhi on Tuesday and running back to Kurla on Wednesday (September 25) - will begin on September 21. No schedule has been announced for the train in the following week yet.

Central Railway official said that it is likely that the train - promised in the 2013 railway budget - could be inaugurated formally on its way back to Mumbai on Wednesday.

The rake is equipped with a first AC coach, three second AC coaches, 10 third AC coaches and two end-on-generation (EoG) coaches, quite like the configuration of the Rajdhani Express, to cover the 1,520km journey in 19.5 hours from Mumbai to Delhi. The train will have six intermediate halts - at Nashik Road, Bhusawal, Bhopal, Jhansi, Gwalior and Agra Cantonment - before reaching its destination.

Given that the originating station of the train is LTT and the rake will have to be taken to New Delhi for a formal inauguration, it is likely that this will be utilised as a special train (02109 Dn) during the journey, railway officials said.

"Though there is no confirmation, it is likely that the train will be inaugurated at the Hazrat Nizamuddin station in New Delhi. This may be announced on Monday, after which the number of the train from Delhi to LTT - 02110 Up - may be upgraded, with a regular number and announcement of further schedules," a Central Railway official said.

The train would halt at Bhopal station for 10 minutes on both its journeys, while the duration of its halt in other stations would be from 2 to 5 minutes.

The train will be the fourth direct train to the capital via Nashik and the first Rajdhani-like train on the tracks of Central Railway. Central Railway has been lacking in a train that would reach New Delhi in the shortest possible time period. Western Railway runs the Rajdhani Express that leaves Mumbai Central at 14.30 to reach Delhi at 8.30 the next day.

"This train will be beneficial to commuters from Nashik and Bhusawal areas travelling to Gwalior and Agra Cantonment," the official said.

Railways have decided to run 28 Festival special trains i.e. 12 Superfast special trains between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Howrah via Mughalsarai and 16 Superfast AC special trains between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Santragachi (Howrah) via Nagpur to clear the extra rush of Passengers. 03062 Special will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 11.20 hrs o­n every Thursday from 10.10.2013 to 14.11.2013 (6 trips) and will arrive Howrah at 22.50 hrs next day.
03061 Special will leave Howrah at 08.15 hrs o­n every Tuesday from 8.10.2013 to 12.11.2013 (6 trips) and will arrive Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 00.25 hrs o­n third day.

Halts: Kalyan, Igatpuri, Manmad, Jalgaon, Bhusawal, Khandwa, Itarsi, Pipariya, Narsingpur, Jabalpur, Katni, Maihar, Satna, Manikpur, Chheoki,  Mugalsarai, Sasaram, Dehri-on-sone, Gaya, Koderma, Dhanbad, Asansol, Durgapur and Bardhman.

08060 AC Special train will leave Santragachi o­n every Wednesday at 06.05 hrs from 9.10.2013 to 27.11.2013 and will arrive Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 13.35 hrs next day.

प्रधानमंत्री ने आज राजस्थान में जवाहरलाल नेहरू राष्ट्रीय सौर मिशन के प्रथम चरण के तहत चालू किया गया सौर बिजली संयंत्र राष्ट्र को समर्पित किया और जयपुर मेट्रो के चरण - 1 बी की आधारशिला रखी। इस अवसर पर प्रधानमंत्री का संबोधन इस प्रकार है:

"आज का समारोह जिन दो प्रोजेक्ट्स से संबंध रखता है उन दोनों का मक़सद हमारे पर्यावरण को और जयपुर और राजस्थान के लोगों के जीवन को बेहतर बनाना है।

Thiruvananthapuram: The cabinet on Friday formed a joint steering committee headed by the Chief Secretary and sanctioned Rs 10.99 crore to the Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Thiruvananthapuram-Chengannur-Harippad suburban train services. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told meadipersons after the cabinet meeting that the MRVC would hand over the DPR within three months. The government hoped to get World Bank aid for the project which would cost roughly Rs 3,500 crore, he added. The committee with Chief Secretary Bharart  Bhushan as chairman will have S. Anantharaman, chief safety officer, Southern Railway, Rajesh Aggarwal, divisional railway manager, Southern Railway and Ravi Aggarwal, executive director, planning, MRVC, as members. Biju Prabhakar will be the nodal officer and convenor of  the committee. Chandy said the government would form a Special Purpose Vehicle with the centre on a 50:50 basis stakes. “The biggest plus point of the project is that no land acquisition is needed. But the challenge is to manage at least 83 level crossings on the route,’’ he said and added  that 25 stations would be modernised. As part of the project, 10 MEMUs with seven bogies  each would operate on the route at a speed of 60 km per hour. The government has also suggested to the railways to launch a high-speed rail service in the Malabar region with only one stop in each district. The state government’s suburban rail services initiative has gained importance in view of the union government accepting in principle the demand to restrict the width of highways in the state to 30 metres.

MUMBAI: Ministry of Railways have decided to run 12 superfast special trains between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) and Howrah via Mughalsarai to clear the extra rush of passengers.

A Central Railway spokesperson said, "Train no. 03062 LTT-Howrah superfast express will leave LTT at 11.20 am on every Thursday from Oct 10 to Nov 14(6 trips) and will arrive Howrah at 10.50 pm next day."

From Howrah the train will operates between Oct 8 and Nov 12 (6 trips). It will depart from Howrah at Howrah at 08.15 am on every and will arrive LTT at 12.25 am on third day. The reservation for this special services will begin from Sept 23.

The spokesperson said that the train will halts at Kalyan, Igatpuri, Manmad, Jalgaon, Bhusawal, Khandwa, Itarsi, Pipariya, Narsingpur, Jabalpur, Katni, Maihar, Satna, Manikpur, Chheoki, Mugalsarai, Sasaram, Dehri-on-sone, Gaya, Koderma, Dhanbad, Asansol, Durgapur and Bardhman.

      In the return direction, Train No. 17214 Nagarsol-Narsapur Express will depart Nagarsol on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays with effect from 26th September, 2013.

The frequency of Train Nos. 17213/17214 Narsapur-Nagarsol-Narsapur Express has been increased to 4 days in a week from the present twice a week.

      Accordingly, Train No. 17213 Narsapur-Nagarsol Express will depart Narsapuron Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdayswith effect from 25thSeptember, 2013.
