Railways will operate weekly special trains between Kacheguda and Mangalore Central from October 1.A press statement said here on Thursday that train no. 07606 Kacheguda-Mangalore Central weekly special will leave Kacheguda at 6 a.m. on Tuesdays from October 1 to 26 and reach Mangalore Central at 11.20 a.m. on Wednesdays.

In the return direction, train no. 07605 Mangalore Central-Kacheguda weekly special will leave Mangalore Central at 8 p.m. on Wednesdays from October 2 to 27 and reach Kacheguda at 3.40 a.m. on Fridays.

The composition of the trains will be one AC 2-tier, two AC 3-tier, seven sleeper class, six general second class and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

The trains will stop at Jadcherla, Mahaboobnagar, Gadwal, Kurnool City, Dhone, Gooty, Yerraguntala, Cudappah, Rajampet, Renigunta, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Shoranur, Tirur, Kozhikode, Vadakara, Thalassery, Kannur, Payyanur, Kanhangad and Kasaragod, the statement added.

In order to clear the extra rush of passengers during the festival, Railways have decided to run festival special trains as per the following programme:

02207/02208 Jammu Tawi- Ahmedabad-Jammu Tawi Weekly GARIB RATH Festival Special Train (18 Trips)

The 02208 Jammu Tawi- Ahmedabad Weekly GARIB RATH Express festival special train will depart from Jammu Tawi on every Thursday from 03.10.2013 to 28.11.2013 (09 trips) at 09.30 a.m. to reach Ahmedabad at 01.20 p.m. the next day. In the return direction, the 02207 Ahmedabad- Jammu Tawi Weekly A.C. Express festival special train will depart from Ahmedabad on every Friday from 04.10.2013 to 29.11.2013 (09 trips) at 03.00 p.m. to reach Jammu Tawi at 08.00 p.m. the next day.

Consisting of Ten A.C. 3 Tier coaches, the 02207/02208 Jammu Tawi- Ahmedabad- Jammu Tawi Weekly A.C. Express festival special train will stop at Kathua, Chakki Bank, Jallandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, Dhuri, Hissar, Sadulpur, Churu, Ratangarh, Sujangarh,  Ladnun, Didwana, Degana, Merta Road,  Gotan, Jodhpur, Luni, Pali Marwar, Marwar Jn, Falna, Abu Road, Palanpur, Mehesana & Sabarmati Jn. stations enroute in both directions.

04604/04603 Jammu Tawi- Pathankot- JammuTawi DEMU (Five-Days-a-Week) Festival Special Train (88 Trips)

The 04604 Jammu Tawi- Pathankot DEMU (Five-Days-a-Week) festival special train will depart from Jammu Tawi at 09.50 a.m. to reach Pathankot at 12.20 noon the same day, while in the return direction, the 04603 Pathankot- Jammu Tawi DEMU (Five-Days-a-Week) festival special train will depart from Pathankot at 02.20 p.m. to reach Jammu Tawi at 04.50 p.m. the same day from Monday to Friday (except Saturday & Sunday) from 01.10.2013 to 30.11.2013 (61 trips in each direction).

The 04604/04603 Jammu Tawi- Pathankot- Jammu Tawi DEMU (Five-Days-a-Week) festival special train will stop at Bari Brahman,  Vijaypur Jammu,  Block Hut Basantar, Sambha, Ghagwal, Hira Nagar,  Chakdayala,  Chhan Arorian, Budhi, Kathua, Madhopur Punjab, Sujanpur & Bharoli stations enroute in both directions.

04511/04512 Saharanpur- Ambala Cantt.- Saharanpur Daily MEMU Festival Special Train (122 Trips)

The 04511 Saharanpur- Ambala Cantt. Daily MEMU festival special train will depart from Saharanpur at 04.45 a.m. to reach Ambala Cantt. at 06.30 a.m. the same day, while in the return direction, the 04512 Ambala Cantt.- Saharanpur Daily MEMU festival special train will depart from Ambala Cantt. at 08.35 p.m. to reach Saharanpurat 10.35 p.m. the same day from 01.10.2013 to 30.11.2013 (61 trips in each direction).

The 04511/04512 Saharanpur- Ambala Cantt.- Saharanpur Daily MEMU festival special train will stop at  Pilkhani, Sarsawa, Kalanaur, Jagadhari, Jagadhari Workshop, Darazpur, Mustafabad, Barara, Tandwal, Kesri & Dukheri stations enroute in both directions.

For the convenience of passengers, Western Railway has decided to provide stoppage to 22903/22904 Bandra (T) – Bhuj AC Express (Tri-weekly) train at Samakhiali station with effect from 25thSeptember, 2013.

Accordingly, Train No. 22903 Bandra (T)–Bhuj AC Express (Tri-weekly) train will reach Samakhiali station at 10.33 hrs & depart at 10.35 hrs.

Similarly, in the return direction, Train No.22904 Bhuj–Bandra (T)AC Express (Tri-weekly)trainwill reach Samakhiali station at 17.20 hrs & depart at 17.22 hrs.

These stoppages have been given o­n experimental basis for a period of six months.

NEW DELHI: The government is likely to allow FDI in the cash-starved railways sector, particularly for development of rail lines between project sites and existing network, a top government official said.At present, there is a complete ban on any kind of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the railways sector. To allow FDI in the sector, the government needs to remove it from the list of prohibited sectors under the current policy.As per the proposal of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), foreign companies would be allowed to pick up 100 per cent stake in the special purpose vehicle (SPV) that will construct and maintain rail lines connecting ports, mines and industrial hubs with the existing rail network."It will be first-to-last mile connectivity between ports and things like coal mines to the existing railway freight stations," a top government official told PTI.First-to-last mile connectivity would mean smooth movement of raw materials from mines to ports.The DIPP, which deals with FDI-related matters, has completed consultations with the concerned ministries on the proposal."The DIPP will soon seek Cabinet nod for the proposal. They have proposed to permit 100 per cent FDI under automatic route in such projects," the official said.

"The move will help in attracting more and more FDI besides helping in the development of infrastructure for industrial purposes. Indian Railways are facing a cash problem," the official added.

Industrial development and exports have been suffering on account of poor infrastructure which hampers output and raises the cost of production. Railways can play a role in providing a reliable transport facility necessary for promoting industrial growth.

Players setting up sea ports and large mines need efficient railway connectivity. The Railway Ministry's effort towards attracting funds through public-private partnership for infrastructure projects have failed to gather steam.

Minister of State for Railways Kotla Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy said in a written response to the Rajya Sabha has said that loss incurred by the Railways in the passenger segment is likely to touch Rs 25,000 crore this year.

Hyderabad: The South Central Railways has collected nearly a crore through fines imposed after special checks on ticketless travelers and littering of railway premises.While SCR is raking in all this big money from its special checks, the actual number of offenders still remain almost the same, say officials.An estimated 40 per cent of travelers continue to take a free ride, indicate figures.Between April to August 2013, 32,800 persons were caught  littering and spitting on the railway premises and an amount of Rs 66 lakh was collected by way of penalties.Also, during each ticket checking drive, an average of Rs 5 lakh is collected at the major stations across the state like Kacheguda, Secunderabad or Vijayawada on any given day.A total of Rs 40 lakh has been collected from ticketless travelers so far.“Also during ‘fortress’ checks, which are done by covering all the entry and exit points at the station, there was an immediate rise in the sale of journey tickets across ticket counters by 15 per cent and an increase in the sale of platform tickets by 33 per cent,” said officials.Meanwhile, during the checks, it was noticed that out of the people who were stopped, roughly 35 per cent were found to be  ticketless or carrying un-booked luggage. A large number of touting activities at the counters has been exposed.

Hard times ahead for ticketless travelers in trains. The Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway has taken special ticket checking drives by deploying special checking squads to identify and penalize people travelling without or with improper tickets in trains. Failure to pay the penalty may even result in prosecution.

Till August 2013 of the current financial year, i.e. from April 2013 to August 2013, these ticket checking squads have booked about 61.53 thousand passengers for travelling without or with improper tickets which is 9.28 thousand more than the corresponding period of last year which is 17.76% more. Similarly, these squads have realized a sum of rupees 2 crore 64 lakhs and 58 thousand from the ticketless travelers during the period which is rupees 48.89 lakhs more than the corresponding period of last year by increasing 22.66%.

These special ticket checking staffs have been entrusted with the task of conducting surprise checks at different stations o­n different days over Khurda Road jurisdiction. The ticket checking squads, headed by a Chief Traffic Inspector (CTI) will conduct surprise checks in trains going in different routes or by camping at a specific station with the help of Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF). The ticket checking staff, however, have been instructed against rude behavior and asked to treat senior citizens and the elderly with respect.

गोरखपुर। रेलवे स्टेशन पर यार्ड रिमॉडलिंग के बाद भी नये और विस्तार वाले प्लेटफार्म पर ढेर सारे काम बाकी रह जाएंगे, जिन्हें पूरा करने में कम से कम तीन महीने का वक्त लगेगा। इसी बीच 24 या इससे अधिक कोच की ट्रेनों को प्लेटफार्म खाली न रहने के चलते शहर के बाहर के स्टेशनों पर खड़ा करना पडे़गा। मतलब साफ है कि बेहतर सुविधा के लिए यात्रियों को तीन महीने का इंतजार करना होगा।
यार्ड रिमॉडलिंग का कार्य 26 सितंबर से छह अक्टूबर तक होगा। इस बीच ट्रैक, सिग्नल, केबल बिछाने और प्लेटफार्म बनाने का कार्य किया जाएगा। लेकिन इसके बाद भी प्लेटफार्म के फर्श की मरम्मत, प्लेटफार्म को साफ सुथरा रखने के लिए पटरियों के अगल-बगल सीमेंटेड फर्श, नये प्लेटफार्म पर बैठने के लिए सीट आदि बनाने के काम बाकी रह जाएंगे। वाशेबल एप्रन (पटरी के बगल में फर्श) को तोड़कर प्वाइंट डाले जाएंगे। प्लेटफार्म नंबर दो पर 100 मीटर एवं प्लेटफार्म तीन पर 300 मीटर पटरी के बगल में फर्श बनाया जाएगा ताकि सफाई के बाद पानी निकल जाए। इन कामों को पूरा करने के लिए तीन महीने का समय लगेगा। एनईआर सीपीआरओ आलोक कुमार सिंह ने बताया कि रिमॉडलिंग के बाद जो कार्य शेष रह जाएंगे उन्हें दिसंबर तक पूरा करने का लक्ष्य बनाया गया है। कोशिश होगी कि इसके पहले ही काम समाप्त हो जाए। इस कार्य के पूरा होने के बाद यात्रियोें को बेहतर सुविधा मिलने लगेगी।
रेलवे स्टेशन पर पानी की किल्लत न हो इसे देखते हुए प्लेटफार्म नंबर दो के पास एक ओवर हेड टैंक बनाया जाएगा। वैकल्पिक तौर पर पानी की व्यवस्था वर्कशाप से की जाएगी।

South Central Railway will provide  additional stoppages for the following four express trains as detailed below.

1)Train No. 17018 / 17017 Secunderabad – Rajkot – Secunderabad Tri Weekly Express will be provided with additional stoppage for a minute at Chittapur with effect from 24th September, 2013. Accordingly, Train No. 17018 Secunderabad - Rajkot Tri Weekly Express will arrive / depart Chittapur at 17 59 / 18 00 hrs.  In the opposite direction, Train No. 17017 Rajkot-Secunderabad Tri Weekly Express will arrive / depart Chittapur at 06 24 / 06 25 hrs. The stoppage will be o­n experimental basis for a period of six months.

2)  Train No. 12735 / 12736 Secunderabad – Yesvatnhpur - Secunderabad Garibrath Express will be provided with additional stoppage for a minute  at Chittapur. Accordingly, Train No. 12735 Secunderabad – Yesvanthpur Garibrath Express will arrive / depart Chittapur at 22 10 / 22 11 hrs. with effect from 24th September, 2013. In the opposite  direction, Train No. 12736 Yesvanthpur - Secunderabad Garibrath Express will arrive /  depart Chittapur at 05 17 / 05 18 hrs with effect from 25th September, 2013. The stoppage will be o­n experimental basis for a period of six months.

3)  Train No. 16571 / 16572 Yesvnatpur-Bidar-Yesvantpur Tri-weekly Express will be provided with additional stoppage for a minute at Tandurwith effect from 25th September, 2013.  Accordingly, Train No. 16571 Yesvanthpur-Bidar Tri Weekly Express will arrive / depart Tandur at 06 22 /  06 23 hrs.  In the opposite direction, Train No. 16572 Bidar – Yesvanthpur Tri Weekly Express will arrive / depart Tandur at 21 22 / 21 23 hrs. The stoppage will be o­n experimental basis for a period of six months.


4) Train No.17230 Hyderabad-Kochuveli Sabari Express, departing Kochuveli from 24th September, 2013 to 15th October, 2013, will be provided with additional stoppage at Wadakancherry.  Similarly, Train. No.17229 Kochuveli-Hyderabad Sabari Express, departing Kochuveli from 25thSeptember, 2013 to 16th October, 2013,  will be provided with  additional stoppage at Wadakancherry.
