Press Release- Stoppage of Sampark Kranti Express at Umaria (UMR) & Jabalpur-Ambikapur-Jabalpur tri-weekly express at Birsinghpur(BRS) on Bilaspur division of SECR on experimental basis for six months

KANPUR: The Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh held discussions with officers of North Central Railway on Tuesday over proposal for linking Panki and delinking Anwarganj from Mandhana rail line. Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh pointed out that it had been taking up the proposal of linking Panki and delinking Anwarganj from Mandhana with the railway authorities.The removal of rail line from Anwarganj is needed to get respite from frequent traffic jams on GT Road, which runs parallel to the railway track. It has 17 manned and unmanned crossings. Chamber vice-president IM Rohatgi said that many meetings were held the railway officers of Allahabad and Delhi at various levels. Survey of Panki Mandhana Line was mentioned in Union Budget 2013- 14.The Chamber had invited officers from North Central Railway who are involved in preparing feasibility report for the consideration of railway ministry. Railway officers sought data needed to complete the survey report and forward it to Railway Board. Senior traffic manager (constructions) UVS Prabhakar and other official of NCR took part in the meeting.

Secunderabad:  As announced in the Railway Budget this year, a new weekly express train from Tirupati to Puducherry will be flagged off on Tuesday at Puducherry railway station by minister of state for personnel, public grievances and pensions  V. Narayanaswamy along with minister for railways Mallikarjun Kharge.

On its inaugural run, the train will depart from Puducherry at 12.15 hrs on Tuesday and arrive in Tirupati at 19.25 hrs on the same day. Enroute this train will stop at Villupuram, Tirukkovilur, Tiruvannamalai, Polur, Arni Road, Vellore Cant, Katpadi, Chittoor and Pakala stations.

After arriving in Tirupati, this train will be run as a Janatha special to Chennai Central.

This Janata special will depart from Tirupati at 22.30 hrs on Tuesday and arrive in Chennai Central at 02.30 hrs  the next day.

Enroute this train will stop at Renigunta, Puttur, Tiruttani, Arakkonam, Tiruvallur and Perambur stations.

अभी सूने-सूने और बदहाल नजर आने वाले बिल्लोचपुरा रेलवे स्टेशन की रंगत जल्द ही बदलने जा रही है। इसे ट्रांसपोर्ट हब बनाया जाएगा, जिसके बाद पैलेस ऑन व्हील्स सहित अन्य प्रमुख ट्रेन यहां रुकेंगी। इसके साथ ही आगरा फोर्ट स्टेशन के कायाकल्प की भी योजना है।
उत्तर मध्य रेलवे की छठवीं क्षेत्रीय रेल उपयोगकर्ता परामर्शदात्री समिति की बैठक बुधवार को होटल क्लार्क शीराज में हुई। पत्रकारों से बातचीत में जोन के महाप्रबंधक आलोक जौहरी ने बताया कि आगरा कैंट और इलाहाबाद को डी कंजक्ट किया जा रहा है, जिससे ट्रेन की वापसी के लिए इंजन बदलने की मशक्कत न करनी पड़े। इसमें समय और पैसे की बर्बादी होती है। इसके लिए आगरा फोर्ट, राजा की मंडी व इलाहाबाद में छिवकी, सूबेदारगंज स्टेशनों को विकसित किया जाएगा। उन्होंने बताया कि पहले चरण में जोन के छह प्रमुख स्टेशनों आगरा कैंट, मथुरा, झांसी, इलाहाबाद जंक्शन, ग्वालियर और कानपुर सेंट्रल का मास्टर प्लान यात्रियों की सुविधाओं के नजरिए से तैयार किया जा रहा है। मथुरा, छिवकी और जियोनाथपुर में रेल फ्लाईओवर के सर्वे का कार्य किया जा रहा है। वहीं, इस वित्तीय वर्ष में जोन में 75 आरओबी बनाए जाने का प्रस्ताव है। अब तक आठ बन चुके हैं और 54 पर निर्माण कार्य चल रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि दलालों पर अंकुश लगाने के लिए आरक्षण केंद्रों पर सीसीटीवी कैमरे लगाए जा रहे हैं। चूहों से होने वाले नुकसान को बचाने के लिए इंटीग्रेटेड सिस्टम के तहत ठेका उठाया गया है।
मिल सकता है राजधानी का ठहराव
बेंगलूर राजधानी का कैंट स्टेशन पर ठहराव हो सकता है। इसका प्रस्ताव जोन द्वारा रेलवे बोर्ड के पास भेज दिया गया है। वहीं, यात्रियों की मांग पर इलाहाबाद-नई दिल्ली दुरंतो एक्सप्रेस अब शनिवार के बदले रविवार को चलेगी।
ग्वालियर व कानपुर के प्लेटफॉर्म पर स्वचलित सीढि़यां
आगरा कैंट के बाद ग्वालियर व कानपुर के प्लेटफॉर्म पर स्वचलित सीढि़यों की सुविधा उपलब्ध कराई जाएगी। इसके आदेश जारी हो गए हैं। इससे पहले महाप्रबंधक ने कैंट स्टेशन पर स्वचलित सीढि़यों का उद्घाटन किया। फिर उन्होंने ईदगाह स्टेशन का निरीक्षण किया। अफसरों ने पौधरोपण भी किया।

गुरु का ताल पर अंडरपाथ की मांग
कुशवाहा, शाक्य, मौर्य, सैनी महासभा के प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने महाप्रबंधक से मुलाकात की और गुरु का ताल आरओबी पर अंडरपाथ के निर्माण की मांग की। प्रबंधक राजेश कुमार ने कहा कि हर दिन सैकड़ों की तादाद में लोग रेल लाइन क्रॉस करते हैं। इससे दुर्घटना की आशंका है। प्रतिनिधिमंडल में राजपाल सिंह, अमर सिंह, फूल सिंह, नरेंद्र सिंह, योगेंद्र कुमार शामिल रहे।

The establishment of railway zonal headquarters in Visakhapatnam is a must to ensure development of the region, says Union Minister of Tribal Affairs and Panchayat Raj V. Kishore Chandra Deo.His proposal for relocation of South Eastern Railway (SER) zone headquarters in Bhubaneswar and shifting of the East Coast Railway (ECoR) zone headquarters from Bhubaneswar to Visakhapatnam is seen as a viable solution to end the decade-long injustice suffered by Waltair Division under the ECoR dispensation.While the proposal is being hailed by the people in Visakhapatnam region, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has raked up an ‘unnecessary controversy’ saying that Odisha would not allow shifting of the headquarters. Kolkata is the headquarters for both Eastern Railway (ER) zone and SER. Kolkata is situated in the eastern part of the country and cannot claim to be a part of South Eastern Region. The reshuffling of zones will ensure equitable growth of both Andhra and Bhubaneswar.“Vishakhapatnam is situated at the centre of the east coast between Kolkata and Chennai. The ECoR headquarters, which should have been located in Vishakhapatnam, was unfortunately established in Bhubaneswar. The SER headquarters should be shifted to Bhubaneswar with the Khurda Division attached to it and ECoR headquarters must be shifted to Visakhapatnam with the addition of Vijayawada Division in lieu of Khurda Division,” Mr. Deo has written to the Antony Committee.

“If they (Odisha leaders) are so attached to the name (ECoR) let them retain it. Waltair Division must be de-linked from ECoR and a new zone can be formed with headquarters in Visakhapatnam, with the addition of Vijayawada and Guntur Divisions to it,” Mr. Deo has told The Hindu over phone from Delhi, when his attention has been drawn to the issue.

Other proposals

Several proposals related to Visakhapatnam that have already been announced in the successive railway budgets have not materialised so far. These include construction of a railway line that could spur the development of the tribal areas, announced in the budget two years ago and introduction of a second train to Araku, announced by former Railway Minister Mamata Bannerjee.

Construction of four additional platforms at Visakhapatnam station, for which a survey has already been made, laying of a third line from Visakhapatnam to Gopalapatnam are some of the other pending proposals.

The Kottar police here on Tuesday registered a case against Nagercoil Railway Protection Force (RPF) Inspector Selvaraj (52) in connection with 30 kg of ganja going missing from the RPF custody in Nagercoil.According to police sources, the RPF personnel seized the narcotic substance left on Shalimar Express train at Nagercoil junction railway station on July 19.The contraband was kept under their custody. However, during the course of investigation, it went missing.The RPF officials conducted an inquiry, and the Junction Railway Police registered an FIR against Inspector Selvaraj on August 20, and he was placed under suspension.Later, he applied for anticipatory bail and was granted bail on condition that he should appear before the RPF Junction Railway Police Station at Kottar every day.

Meanwhile, the Railway Police completed preliminary investigation and transferred the case to the District Police.

The Kottar police registered a case under Section 409 (Criminal breach of trust by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code against the Inspector.

NAGPUR: In the midst of all the noise surrounding the elevation of Nagpur railway station into a world class one, basic facilities for passengers are not functioning.

The free electric car service to ferry physically challenged, patients and senior citizens at the railway station has been discontinued for at least four months. The reasons given by railway authorities and the company that donated the car vary from what the operators on the ground claim.

"Some time back, when I got down from my train and waited for the service, it did not come. So I called their helpline number which I had earlier used. It was picked up by a driver who said the service has been stopped," said Naresh Mirpuri, a businessman, who is physically challenged.

He added the service was a boon for people like him and the elderly who needed assistance in navigating inside the station.

"It was a free service and hence many could take its benefit, while the coolies who charge exorbitantly can be used by those financially well off. Escalator too is only on one side of the station and hence, not of much use. I have written to the office of divisional railway manager and the station master too," Mirpuri said.

The reason of the discontinuation of the service from May 26 is not very clear.

TOI received two different versions. "One day we were called to the station and told we need not come to work from next day. We were shocked," said Vishvajit Chahande, one of the three drivers of the vehicle. He said they were told the decision had come from above and that the services had been 'called off' in Nagpur.

"We knew there was some problem with the car and they had taken it for repairs, but they did not mention that as the reason of closure. I feel that the reason is financial and that they weren't getting enough sponsorship," he said.

Central railway PRO PD Patil said that the reason was a technical one. "The company, Srishti Communications, which donated the car is not getting some spare part and hence the delay. We are also looking at other options if the car does not become functional," he said.

"The car is about three years old and it could have done with better maintenance. Now, we are working on mending it. There is no financial reason behind stoppage of the service. It is a charity which we do and would continue even if we do not get any sponsorship," said an official of Srishti Communications.

Dehradun: Accusing the Centre of failing to address their concerns, members of the Northern Railway Men's Union (NRMU), Dehradun, staged a dharna at the railway station here yesterday.The protesters alleged that the new pension scheme introduced by the Centre was not employee friendly and must be scrapped. They demanded reinstatement of the old pension scheme.They also resented reduction in bonus.The union members resorted to sloganeering against the Centre. Ugrasen Singh, Hari Om Singh, PK Chaubey, RC Yadav, Mukesh Chaturvedi and Prem Kishore Raturi were prominent among the protesters.
