NAGPUR: City MP Vilas Muttemwar on Saturday met a senior South East Central Railway (SECR) official at Motibagh Diesel shed in order to support the SECR Men's Congress, which is against the transfer of employees to Nainpur in Madhya Pradesh.SECR is in the process of converting narrow gauge lines into broad gauge in the division. As a result, the workload will increase at Nainpur station.Explaining the reason for his involvement, Muttemwar said, "The demand is justified. The staff is already settled here and will face a lot of problems if transferred, especially to another state. The employees should be engaged in other works here itself."P Laxminarayan, divisional coordinator of SECR Men's Congress, said, "Muttemwar met senior divisional mechanical engineer (SrDME), (diesel) BK Rath. We do not want a single employee to get transferred. At the most, we can accept the move if the employees are sent on travelling allowance (TA) basis."

Justifying their opposition, he added that the employees have school going children and change in boards could prove to be difficult for them.

The organization also feels that staff from particular region should be deployed at stations in that area only. Another suggestion was regarding commissioning apprentices who have completed their training. In fact, this also come up from the apprentices themselves.

"We are young and don't have family responsibilities. We are sitting idle after completing our training. Why not commission us at Nainpur instead of forcing employees who do not want to go?" said an apprentice.

He added that about 100 apprentices, starting from the 2009 batch to the current lot, are waiting to be inducted into service. "There are reports that about 125 transfer have been already issued," he said

Laxminarayan too agreed that apprentices should be transferred to Nainpur. Muttemwar also supported the idea and said the Railways itself might come up with such a solution. "I will take up the issue with the railway minister," he said.

Railway officials confirmed that the issue has been discussed and this could be the first step towards finding a solution.

इंदौर. अब जहाज या एरोप्लेन की तरह ट्रेनों में भी कैप्टन रहेगा। वह यात्रियों के प्रति पूरी तरह जवाबदार होगा। ट्रेन में कैटरिंग, पानी, सुरक्षा जैसी हर सुविधा के लिए जिम्मेदार होगा। यह व्यवस्था जल्द ही लागू होने वाली है। कैप्टन का मोबाइल नंबर रिजर्वेशन चार्ट पर मौजूद रहेगा। कोई भी परेशानी होने पर यात्री उसे सीधे फोन लगा सकेंगे। कैप्टन की दांयीं बांह पर एक विशेष पट्टी लगी होगी। इस पर ट्रेन कैप्टन लिखा होगा। फिलहाल राजधानी एक्सप्रेस में ट्रेन सुपरिटेंडेंट की व्यवस्था है। लेकिन उनके अधिकार सीमित हैं। रेलवे बोर्ड के कार्यकारी निदेशक ए. मधुकुमार रेड्डी ने सभी रेलवे जोनल कार्यालयों से नई व्यवस्था पर रिपोर्ट मांगी है। बोर्ड के जनसंपर्क विभाग ने इसकी पुष्टि की है।

सफाई से लेकर टीटीई का व्यवहार तक जांचेगा
-कैप्टन को ट्रेन मैनेजर के रूप में दायित्व सौंपे जाएंगे। ञ्चयह कमर्शियल विभाग का कोई अधिकारी या सबसे वरिष्ठ टीटीई होगा।

-यात्रा के दौरान कैप्टन सभी कोचों की सफाई व्यवस्था का निरीक्षण कर यात्रियों से फीडबैक लेगा।

-इसके अलावा एसी, पंखा, पानी और सुरक्षा के इंतजाम देखेगा। खाने की क्वालिटी और रेट पर भी निगरानी रखेगा।

-टीटीई की अवैध वसूली और खराब व्यवहार की शिकायत भी तुरंत मोबाइल पर की जा सकेगी।

रेलवे की ओर से ट्रेनों की नई समय-सारणी सोमवार से लागू कर दी जाएगी। इसमें जहां कुछ ट्रेनों के समय बदले गए हैं, वहीं बजट में घोषित नई ट्रेनों की भी शुरुआत होगी। लोगों को इस बार के रेल बजट में आठ नई ट्रेनों की सौगात मिली है। रायपुर स्टेशन से होकर गुजरने वाली आठ नई ट्रेनों की समय-सारणी व परिचालन तिथि भी तय कर दी गई है। इसकी औपचारिक शुरुआत सोमवार से होगी। दुर्ग-छपरा-दुर्ग एक्सप्रेस की समय-सारणी घोषित कर दी गई है, लेकिन अभी तक इसके परिचालन की तिथि तय नहीं की जा सकी है।

यह ट्रेन प्रतिदिन दुर्ग से छपरा और छपरा से दुर्ग के लिए रवाना होगी। दुर्ग-छपरा-दुर्ग सारनाथ एक्सप्रेस को अब गोंदिया-मुजफ्फरपुर-गोंदिया के रूप में चलाया जाएगा। इस ट्रेन का दायरा भले ही बढ़ा दिया गया है, लेकिन रायपुर में इसके समय को बदला नहीं गया है। इसी ट्रेन के एवज में दुर्ग से छपरा तक नई ट्रेन चलाई जाएगी। यह ट्रेन रायपुर में रात्रि 12.05 में पहुंचकर 12.15 बजे छूटेगी। इस एक ट्रेन के अलावा बाकी की सात ट्रेनें साप्ताहिक और द्वि साप्ताहिक हैं।

डुप्लीकेट टिकट पर भी चार्ज बढ़ा

खोए टिकट के बदले डुप्लीकेट टिकट के लिए स्लीपर क्लास तक प्रति यात्री 50 रुपए और एसी श्रेणी में 100 रुपए प्रति यात्री का भुगतान करना पड़ेगा। वहीं तत्काल टिकटों की वापसी पर कोई पैसा नहीं मिलेगा, चाहे यह टिकट कंफर्म हो या वेटिंग। पहले वेटिंग तत्काल की टिकट कैंसिल कराने पर पैसा वापस मिल जाता था।

The South Western Railways have announced revised timetable for many of their trains. They have also notified the timetable for the new trains announced in the Railway Budget 2013, but dates for the commencement of the services are yet to be announced.

New trains

n Train nos 16565 / 16566 Yeshwantpur-Mangalore Weekly Express, train no 16565 will depart Yeshwantpur 11.45 pm on Sunday and arrive at Mangalore at 6.15 pm the next day.

n Train nos 17317 / 17318 Hubli-Lokamanya Tilak Terminus Weekly Express, train no 17317 will depart Hubli at 9.10 pm on Tuesday and arrive at Lokamanya Tilak Terminus at 3 pm the next day. In the return direction, train no 17318 will depart the Terminus at 4.40 pm on Wednesday and reach Hubli at 11 am the next day. 

n Train nos 17235 / 17236 Bangalore City-Nagercoil Daily Express, train no 17235 will depart Bangalore City at 5 pm and arrive at Nagercoil at 10.15 am the next day. In the return direction, train no 17236 will depart Nagercoil at 4.40 pm and reach Bangalore at 9.05 am the next day. Rail Prayanikara Hitarakshana Samiti submits memorandum to Minister

The long-pending demand of Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd., (KRCL) with the Railway Ministry to attach the entire Mangalore region to its network has got a boost with railway users in coastal Karnataka coming together to support the issue.The Rail Prayanikara Hitarakshana Samiti, based in Kundapura in Udupi district, recently submitted a memorandum to Railway Minister M. Mallikarjuna Kharge and Udupi-Chickmaglur Lok Sabha Member K. Jayaprakash Hegde pointing how leaving out Mangalore region from the network had affected the corporation, floated jointly by Karnataka, Kerala, Goa and Maharashtra in 1998.The samiti said that it is only logical that the entire Mangalore railway network, comprising Mangalore Central passenger coaching terminal, Mangalore old port goods shed, Mangalore Junction (Kankanadi) and Panambur (New Mangalore Port) should be part of the network.As the railway network around Mangalore is now controlled by three zones — Southern, South Western Railway and KRCL — there have always been operational difficulties and detention of trains, it said. Though Mangalore Central is a major coaching terminal, Southern Railway has not evinced much interest in developing it. KRCL is unable to start new trains from Mangalore because of these operational difficulties, the samiti said.

The corporation, even after 15 years of its formation and owning 760-km route network, is unable to clear the loans raised for the construction of the unique project. The accumulated losses are over Rs. 3,000 crore, they said.

Bringing Mangalore region with about 33-km route network is expected to bring in more revenue to the corporation (over Rs. 400 crore a year) and increase operational efficiency of the network.

Panvel-Roha too

KRCL Chief Public Relations Officer Siddeshwar C. Telugu told The Hindu that the corporation would be happy if the Ministry attaches Mangalore region to it. “We also want the Panvel-Roha (about 60 km) network to be attached to us since these attachments would enhance the operational efficiency,” he said.

KRCL is unable to start new trains from Mangalore as terminal facility is absent at Thokur, the last station under KRCL near Mangalore. If Mangalore and Panvel-Roha regions are attached to KRCL, the corporation could definitely develop the network, including track doubling and electrification, he said.

Such a measure could also help KRCL to clear accumulated losses. In fact, KRCL has been making operational profits since three years, about Rs. 2.5 crore a year.

To prevent train collisions, the South Central Railway, on a trial basis, has installed the hooter system at Moulali station here. It is the first time that such a system is introduced in the country.It is aimed at preventing train accidents due to negligence of loco drivers. m has been put on trial at Moulali Railway station in Secunderabad. It is basically a sound-warning system. It releases a big sound when a train passes a signal, or caution or danger signal to warn the driver of an impending danger.Speaking to Express, SCR general manager DP Pande said that whenever the loco driver jumps the red signals and running the train at a high speed, immediately the hooter will alert the driver about the impending danger of train colliding with another train coming in opposite direction if it crosses a red signal or is overspeeding.      It automatically applies the brakes if a train is travelling too fast on the approach to certain speed restrictions and buffer stops. Any train that tries to pass the danger signal, the hooter gets activated and alerts the driver to stop the train.  It is a foolproof system to prevent train accidents and thus ensure safety of passengers. It will be installed at more stations if  proved successful, he said.

HAVELOCK BRIDGE: On the dismantling of the 100-year-old railway bridge on the Godavari at Rajahmundry, Pande said they would take a final decision after discussing with the state government.

The railways has decided to dismantle the Havelock bridge and sell it as scrap. But locals wanted the 100-year-old bridge remain as a heritage monument. If the state government paid Rs 67 crore to the railways, the bridge and the land would be handed over to the state government.

MMTS PHASE-II: Pande said SCR hoped to complete the Phase-II of Multi Modal Transport System (MMTS) in three years.

Banihal : It was a busy day for the railway employees here at Banihal station as thousands of people from various parts of Kashmir region visited this highway township using the recently inaugurated rail service. The huge rush of visitors, most of whom wanted to have a glimpse of more than 11 kilometer long Pir Panchal Railway Tunnel, led to the chaos even forcing the railway police to use mild force to remove the passengers from the roof of the rail at Kakapora junction. Reports revealed that being Sunday thousands of people took a ride on the newly inaugurated rail from Qazigund and its adjoining areas to Banihal. “The rush was so heavy that dozens of people were seen traveling on the roof the rail coaches”, Arshad Hussain, a passenger told Greater Kashmir. He said that most of the passengers wanted to have a glimpse of the largest railway tunnel in India and experience of the joy of rail journey. The 11-km railway tunnel across the Pir Panjal mountain range, inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday last, is not only the longest such in India but an engineering marvel and a "dream come true" for the people of JK.
A three-metre-wide road has also been provided inside the tunnel for maintenance and relief and rescue operations in the event of any eventuality.
Built at a cost of Rs.1,300 crores ($213 million), the tunnel has reduced the surface distance between the Qazigund town in the Valley and Banihal town in the Jammu region by 18 km, besides providing an all-weather surface link between the two regions.
“This is a new experience for us. We wanted to see how it feels”, Rahim, a resident of Qazigund, who traveled on the train today said.
The over 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu highway, till today the only surface link between the landlocked Valley and the rest of the country, would often remain closed for days without end in the winter months due to heavy snowfall on the Banihal sector of the highway.
Muhammad Sultan, 80, of Qazigund whose wrinkled face bears testimony to his hard life, said: “The first time I heard that there is a possibility of a train coming to our town was back in 1983. I thought, if the tracks could be extended from Jammu to Udhampur, why not up to Banihal,” Sultan told PTI.
The octogenarian said he had lost hope of ever stepping on a train, as the project was getting delayed.  “At my age, hopes are not fulfilled very often. But, I kept hoping that one day I will board a train here,” he said.It was not the first travel to Kashmir for Sultan, but as he puts it, “this is royal-class“.
  “Whenever we would step out of Banihal, we had to look skyward for impending weather changes. While winters are harsh due to snowfall, summers can get tricky owing to landslides triggered by rains. One was sure of leaving the town but not about the date of return,” he said.
Sultan is happy that travel to Kashmir will be a lot safer now than the treacherous bus journey.

रेलवे ने बढ़ाया कमाई का जरिया

-बंद, आंदोलन व बाढ़ में ट्रेन निरस्त हुई तो भरना होगा टीडीआर

जागरण संवाददाता, लखनऊ : रेलवे की माली हालत को देखते हुए रेलवे बोर्ड ने कमाई के कई और तरीके खोज लिए हैं। इन तरीकों में एक जुलाई से लागू हो रही टिकट निरस्तीकरण संबंधी समय सीमा कम करने की कवायद भी शामिल है। इसके तहत अगर यात्री अचानक यात्रा निरस्त करता है तो उसे टिकट मूल्य की पचास फीसद राशि गंवानी पड़ेगी।

इस तरह से होगी कटौती

-अगर यात्री कंफर्म टिकट को 48 घंटे या फिर ट्रेन चलने के छह घंटे पहले तक निरस्त कराता है तो 25 फीसद टिकट मूल्य की राशि कटेगी

-ट्रेन छूटने से छह घंटे पहले या फिर ट्रेन छूटने के दो घंटे तक कंफर्म टिकट निरस्त कराने पर पचास फीसद राशि कटेगी ।

- ट्रेन छूटने के दो घंटे बाद कंफर्म टिकट के मूल्य का पैसा नहीं दिया जाएगा।

- ट्रेन छूटने के तीन घंटे तक सिर्फ निरस्तीकरण चार्ज कटेगा। वहीं तीन घंटे बाद कोई राशि वापस नहीं की जाएगी।

-ट्रेन प्रस्थान समय से तीन घंटे से अधिक लेट होने पर टिकट मूल्य पूरा वापस किया जाएगा।

- ट्रेन का रूट बदला जाता है, बाढ़, आंदोलन, विद्रोह होने पर टिकट मूल्य 72 घंटे तक वापस किया जाने का प्रावधान है

- यात्री को अपनी ट्रेन की तिथि, श्रेणी व ट्रेन नंबर बदलना है तो यात्री को ट्रेन चलने से 48 घंटे पहले सूचित करना होगा। हालांकि, गंतव्य स्थान नहीं बदला जाएगा।

डुप्लीकेट टिकट बनवाने के लिए चुकाना होगा अधिक मूल्य

डुप्लीकेट टिकट बनवाने के लिए अब तक सभी श्रेणियों के यात्रियों को प्रार्थना पत्र व आइडी प्रूफ के साथ बीस रुपये शुल्क के रूप में देने होते थे लेकिन अब स्लीपर श्रेणी के यात्रियों को बीस रुपये के स्थान पर प्रति यात्री पचास रुपये चुकाने होंगे। इसी तरह थर्ड एसी, सेकेंड एसी व फ‌र्स्ट एसी के यात्रियों को सौ रुपये डुप्लीकेट टिकट बनवाने के लिए चुकाना होगा।

आज से बदले समय से चलेंगी ट्रेनें

रेलवे ने एक जुलाई से कई ट्रेनों की समय सारिणी बदल दी है। लखनऊ से चलने व गुजरने वाली कुशीनगर एक्सप्रेस, फैजाबाद दिल्ली एक्सप्रेस, शहीद एक्सप्रेस, जनसाधारण एक्सप्रेस, प्रतापगढ़-भोपाल एक्सप्रेस सहित पांच दर्जन से अधिक ट्रेनों के संचालन में एक से तीन मिनट का अंतर आया है। जबकि लखनऊ मेल, पुष्पक एक्सप्रेस व स्वर्ण शताब्दी जैसी ट्रेनों के समय में कोई परिवर्तन नहीं किया गया है।

Delhi Airport Metro Express Pvt Ltd (DAMEPL), a special purpose vehicle of Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (RInfra), has announced that it has exited Delhi airport metro operations and the takeover of operations by Delhi Metro Railway Corporation (DMRC) has been completed.

Under the terms of the concession agreement, DMRC is now liable to pay DAMEPL a termination payment equal to 130 per cent of the adjusted equity and 100 per cent of the debt due for the project as the termination has arisen owing to DMRC’s Event of Default.

The matter has been referred to arbitration, in accordance with the dispute resolution mechanism specified in the agreement, RInfra said in a filing to the BSE.

As legally advised, DAMEPL’s claims for the termination payment are fully justified and enforceable, and RInfra is confident of recovering its entire investment in DAMEPL, it added.

PTI adds that this could translate to Rs 2,800 crore though Reliance Infra did not specify the amount.
