रेलवे ने बढ़ाया कमाई का जरिया

-बंद, आंदोलन व बाढ़ में ट्रेन निरस्त हुई तो भरना होगा टीडीआर

जागरण संवाददाता, लखनऊ : रेलवे की माली हालत को देखते हुए रेलवे बोर्ड ने कमाई के कई और तरीके खोज लिए हैं। इन तरीकों में एक जुलाई से लागू हो रही टिकट निरस्तीकरण संबंधी समय सीमा कम करने की कवायद भी शामिल है। इसके तहत अगर यात्री अचानक यात्रा निरस्त करता है तो उसे टिकट मूल्य की पचास फीसद राशि गंवानी पड़ेगी।

इस तरह से होगी कटौती

-अगर यात्री कंफर्म टिकट को 48 घंटे या फिर ट्रेन चलने के छह घंटे पहले तक निरस्त कराता है तो 25 फीसद टिकट मूल्य की राशि कटेगी

-ट्रेन छूटने से छह घंटे पहले या फिर ट्रेन छूटने के दो घंटे तक कंफर्म टिकट निरस्त कराने पर पचास फीसद राशि कटेगी ।

- ट्रेन छूटने के दो घंटे बाद कंफर्म टिकट के मूल्य का पैसा नहीं दिया जाएगा।

- ट्रेन छूटने के तीन घंटे तक सिर्फ निरस्तीकरण चार्ज कटेगा। वहीं तीन घंटे बाद कोई राशि वापस नहीं की जाएगी।

-ट्रेन प्रस्थान समय से तीन घंटे से अधिक लेट होने पर टिकट मूल्य पूरा वापस किया जाएगा।

- ट्रेन का रूट बदला जाता है, बाढ़, आंदोलन, विद्रोह होने पर टिकट मूल्य 72 घंटे तक वापस किया जाने का प्रावधान है

- यात्री को अपनी ट्रेन की तिथि, श्रेणी व ट्रेन नंबर बदलना है तो यात्री को ट्रेन चलने से 48 घंटे पहले सूचित करना होगा। हालांकि, गंतव्य स्थान नहीं बदला जाएगा।

डुप्लीकेट टिकट बनवाने के लिए चुकाना होगा अधिक मूल्य

डुप्लीकेट टिकट बनवाने के लिए अब तक सभी श्रेणियों के यात्रियों को प्रार्थना पत्र व आइडी प्रूफ के साथ बीस रुपये शुल्क के रूप में देने होते थे लेकिन अब स्लीपर श्रेणी के यात्रियों को बीस रुपये के स्थान पर प्रति यात्री पचास रुपये चुकाने होंगे। इसी तरह थर्ड एसी, सेकेंड एसी व फ‌र्स्ट एसी के यात्रियों को सौ रुपये डुप्लीकेट टिकट बनवाने के लिए चुकाना होगा।

आज से बदले समय से चलेंगी ट्रेनें

रेलवे ने एक जुलाई से कई ट्रेनों की समय सारिणी बदल दी है। लखनऊ से चलने व गुजरने वाली कुशीनगर एक्सप्रेस, फैजाबाद दिल्ली एक्सप्रेस, शहीद एक्सप्रेस, जनसाधारण एक्सप्रेस, प्रतापगढ़-भोपाल एक्सप्रेस सहित पांच दर्जन से अधिक ट्रेनों के संचालन में एक से तीन मिनट का अंतर आया है। जबकि लखनऊ मेल, पुष्पक एक्सप्रेस व स्वर्ण शताब्दी जैसी ट्रेनों के समय में कोई परिवर्तन नहीं किया गया है।

South Central Railway Releases “Southern Zone Time Table” and “MMTS Pocket Time Table”, July-2013 Issues

The release of new Railway Time Table every year is an event, eagerly awaited by the travelling Public.  Shri D.P. Pande, General Manager, South Central Railway released the Southern Zone Time Table today ie, o­n 29th June, 2013 at a Press Conference held at Rail Nilayam. The Southern Zone Time Table - 2013, which is got designed and printed by South Central Railway will come into force from 1st July, 2013. This time table provides detailed timings o­n all the train services run o­n South Central Railway, Southern Railway, South Western Railway and Konkan Railway and also contains useful information o­n a host of other issues related to Rail services.
        This time table can serve as a o­ne-stop guide for all the information needs of rail passengers in planning their journey.The copies of this new Time Table will be made available for sale to the Public at Railway Stations within a week.This new Time Table offers much cheer for the Passengers of South Central Railway. SCR has got a good number of new trains this year also continuing the trend of getting a large chunk of new trains announced in Rail Budgets in recent years. While a staggering number of 51 new trains - 31 originating and 20 passing through - were introduced o­n SCR in the last 2 years, 25 more new trains - 14 originating and 11 passing through - were allotted to us in the recent Rail Budget in February last.
          There are several firsts in this time table, new connections from important passenger hubs o­n SCR to various popular destinations for the first time fulfilling the rail travel needs of the passengers o­n these routes. Some of them include new express trains from Kacheguda to Mangalore; Tirupati to Puducherri; Kakinada to Mumbai; Guntur to Shirdi; Nizamabad to Mumbai; Nanded to Nangaldam and Visakhapatnam to Gandhidham via SCR etc.
          SCR has already started operation of new trainswith the flagging off of 2 new trains from Kurnool City - to Secunderabad and Nandyal - by Shri Kotla Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy, Hon'ble Minister of State for Railways,on 25th June, 2013. The remainingtrains will be introduced in a phased manner in the current Financial Year.
          Apart from new train services, this time table features the extension of 10 trains, increase in frequency of 8 trains and diversion of o­ne train over SCR.10 Trains have been speeded up by reducing their travel time ranging from 10 minutes to 33 minutes. Change of terminal effected for two express trains from Hyderabad to Secunderabad.Additional stoppages have been provided for three express trains at 11 stations. There will be change in timings for 24 trains at various stations. All the details are attached                           
Shri D.P. Pande released the “MMTS - Cum - Local Trains Pocket Time Table - July 2013” issue also o­n the occasion for the benefit of travelling public in twin cities. An attractive multi-colour booklet of pocket size, which can be carried along with conveniently, this time table can serve as a ready reference/travel guide to local rail commuters. This time table contains schedules of MMTS / local train services and other useful information such as system map, fare tables, list of colonies near to each MMTS station, tips for safe journey and public awareness campaign material etc. This valuable issue is priced at a nominal ` 5/-only. The General Manager, SCR expressed hope that  these new time tables will meet the requirement of the public in getting comprehensive information o­n the schedules and other requisite data related to Rail services.
On this occasion, he said that, SCR has consistently been moving ahead o­n a path of high growth. SCR loaded more than 110 million tons of freight and carried around 387 millions of originating passengers, with an earnings of more than Rs.10,000 Cr. during last year. Keeping in view the potential for further growth of traffic and in response to the requirements of public of this region, SCR is committed to expand its network and services with focus o­n delivering a qualitative service to its customers, he added.

  Safety, Security, Punctuality, Cleanliness and providing modern facilities to passengers are the top priority areas for SCR.  It is the earnest resolve of SCR to make the services passenger friendly and the rail journey comfortable.  He narrated the various recent initiatives taken by SCR in this direction. SCR moves forward with focus o­n continuous system improvements and innovations for enhanced utilization of its resources to meet the surge in expectations of the Public, the General Manager Said.

Frequency of Secunderabad – Manuguru - Secunderabad Express Increased from Tri-weekly to Daily

The frequency of Train No. 12752/12751 Secunderabad-Manuguru-Secunderabad Express will be increased from Tri-weekly to Daily as detailed below:-
Train No. 12752 Secunderabad - Manuguru Express will run daily with effect from 2nd July, 2013. In the return direction, Train No. 12751 Manuguru - Secunderabad Expresswill run daily with effect from 3rd July, 2013.
Consequent to the same, no slip coaches from Secunderabad to Manuguru and vice-versa will be running by Train No 17050 / 17049 Secunderabad – Machilipatnam Express with effect from 1st July, 2013.

Several changes have been made to train timings effevtive July 1.

The Palakkad Division of Southern Railway, in a relesase, said Train No. 16348 Mangalore Central-Thiruvananthapuram Express will depart at 2.20 p.m. instead of 2.25 p.m. while Train No. 16687 Mangalore Central-Jammu Tawi Navyug Express will depart at 4.50 p.m. insead of 5.10 p.m.

Following are the other changes in departure timings of trains from Mangalore Central (with old schedule in brackets): Train No. 16649 Mangalore Central-Nagarcoil Jn Parasuram Exp 4.50 a.m. (4.45 a.m.); Train No. 16856 Mangalore Central-Puducherry Exp 4.50 p.m. (5.05 p.m.); Train No. 16630 Mangalore Central-Thiruvananthapuram Malabar Exp 6.20 p.m. (6.25 p.m.); Train No. 16628 Mangalore Central-Chennai West Coast Exp 10 p.m. (9.55 p.m.); Train No. 56654 Mangalore Central-Kozhikode Passenger 5.20 a.m. (5.25 a.m.); Train No. 56324 Mangalore Central-Coimbatore Fast Passenger 8 a.m. (7.45 a.m.); Train No. 56645 Mangalore Central-Kabakaputhur Passenger 6.25 p.m. (6.20 p.m.).

Four out of the seven Railway Board Member posts will be manned by people with additional charge from Monday.“This is the first time ever in the history of Indian Railways, when over half of Railway Board posts are without full time appointments,” said Shubhranshu, Secretary General, Federation of Railway Officers’ Associations, told Business Line.According to the orders issued, Arunendra Kumar, Member-Mechanical, will hold additional charge as Chairman; Kulbhushan, Member-Electric, will hold additional charge as Member-Traffic, and R. Kashyap, Additional Member, Budget, will officiate as Finance Commissioner.

Subodh Jain, Member-Engineering, is already holding additional charge for Member-Staff.

On Friday, Railway Minister Mallikarjun Kharge said that the Board Member posts will be filled as soon as the vigilance clearance and appointment committee of cabinet decide on the posts.

Larsen and Toubro (L and T) is getting ready to begin work on Kochi Metro Rail’s fifth pile near Changampuzha Park, amidst concerns about interference from regional level trade unions delaying the project’s piling works.Sources associated with the metro said that piling work at the site suffered delays because construction workers owing allegiance to a few prominent trade unions demanded that they too be included in the workers’ pool. “Only skilled and semi-skilled workers are deployed for piling and related civil works. Training outside workers and deploying them is a time-consuming process and will affect the pace of metro works. It will also have a fall-out on safety at work sites.”The District Secretary of the CPI(M) and former Mayor C.M. Dinesh Mani said that the issue was settled on Sunday and would not affect the progress of works for the metro.Metro sources said the issue appears to be between the contracting firm and trade unions and hoped that it would be solved soon. On the delay in piling works, they said the workers’ issue and incessant rain together slowed down the works. “Moreover, L and T – which was awarded the work to build the metro’s viaduct and stations in between Aluva and international stadium at Kaloor, is in the process of mobilising men and material for the works. Once this is done, work will gain pace and more than one pile could be readied each day. This is because more stretches along the NH will be barricaded soon for piling.”

It was announced about three weeks ago that an average of one pile would be readied each day, so that the metro can be commissioned in 2016. Each pillar – located 25 metres apart, requires four piles.

KMRL BOARD MEETING

In the meantime, it is learnt that Kochi Metro Rail Limited’s director board meeting will be held on July 5. “Chalking out a relief and rehabilitation package for people who surrender land for the project and the metro’s proposed extensions to Kakkanad and international airport in the project’s phase two will be among the matters that will be discussed,” sources said.

Banihal : It was a busy day for the railway employees here at Banihal station as thousands of people from various parts of Kashmir region visited this highway township using the recently inaugurated rail service. The huge rush of visitors, most of whom wanted to have a glimpse of more than 11 kilometer long Pir Panchal Railway Tunnel, led to the chaos even forcing the railway police to use mild force to remove the passengers from the roof of the rail at Kakapora junction. Reports revealed that being Sunday thousands of people took a ride on the newly inaugurated rail from Qazigund and its adjoining areas to Banihal. “The rush was so heavy that dozens of people were seen traveling on the roof the rail coaches”, Arshad Hussain, a passenger told Greater Kashmir. He said that most of the passengers wanted to have a glimpse of the largest railway tunnel in India and experience of the joy of rail journey. The 11-km railway tunnel across the Pir Panjal mountain range, inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday last, is not only the longest such in India but an engineering marvel and a "dream come true" for the people of JK.
A three-metre-wide road has also been provided inside the tunnel for maintenance and relief and rescue operations in the event of any eventuality.
Built at a cost of Rs.1,300 crores ($213 million), the tunnel has reduced the surface distance between the Qazigund town in the Valley and Banihal town in the Jammu region by 18 km, besides providing an all-weather surface link between the two regions.
“This is a new experience for us. We wanted to see how it feels”, Rahim, a resident of Qazigund, who traveled on the train today said.
The over 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu highway, till today the only surface link between the landlocked Valley and the rest of the country, would often remain closed for days without end in the winter months due to heavy snowfall on the Banihal sector of the highway.
Muhammad Sultan, 80, of Qazigund whose wrinkled face bears testimony to his hard life, said: “The first time I heard that there is a possibility of a train coming to our town was back in 1983. I thought, if the tracks could be extended from Jammu to Udhampur, why not up to Banihal,” Sultan told PTI.
The octogenarian said he had lost hope of ever stepping on a train, as the project was getting delayed.  “At my age, hopes are not fulfilled very often. But, I kept hoping that one day I will board a train here,” he said.It was not the first travel to Kashmir for Sultan, but as he puts it, “this is royal-class“.
  “Whenever we would step out of Banihal, we had to look skyward for impending weather changes. While winters are harsh due to snowfall, summers can get tricky owing to landslides triggered by rains. One was sure of leaving the town but not about the date of return,” he said.
Sultan is happy that travel to Kashmir will be a lot safer now than the treacherous bus journey.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is going to take over the operations of the Airport Express Link from midnight later tonight. Accordingly, the services of the 22.7 km long corridor will commence as usual at 5.15 AM tomorrow morning under DMRC`s supervision.An Operations and Maintenance team of 100 officials has already been created to handle the operations of the line. A seven member strong core committee of senior officials has also been formed to handle extreme emergency situations.The concessionaire, Delhi Airport Metro Express Private Limited (DAMEPL) had communicated on 27th June that they will not be able to run the services after the business hours of 30th June, 2013, that is today.DMRC is committed towards providing the best possible services to the commuters of the line. With this objective, the management has decided to invite feedback and suggestions from the commuters so that the services can be further improved.Accordingly, two ‘feedback cum suggestion counters’ will be opened at the Shivaji Stadium and Dwarka Sector 21 stations from 7.30 AM onwards tomorrow. Commuters will also be able to post their feedback and suggestions on Delhi Metro’s website - www.delhimetrorail.com.Based on the feedback received from the commuters, efforts will be made to further improve the services on the line and make it more commuter friendly.

HYDERABAD, JUNE 30:   The South Central Railway (SCR) has announced introduction of 14 new trains that either originate or terminate in the zone. These trains would enhance connectivity of Andhra Pradesh with Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Orissa and Maharashtra.

These include Kurnool-Secunderabad-Kurnool Express (daily); Kakinada-Lokmanya Tilak Terminal-Kakinada Bi-weekly; Kacheguda-Mangalore-Kacheguda Bi-weekly;Tirupati-Chennai-Tirupati passenger; and Yesvantpur-Kacheguda-Yesvantpur tri-weekly services.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday after releasing the new timetable for the year, D P Pande, the SCR General Manager, said frequency of some trains had been increased.

Member Mechanical Arunendra Kumar has been appointed as the interim chairman of the Railway Board for three months with effect from Sunday. He will succeed Vinay Mittal, who retired on Sunday along with Member Finance Vijaya Kanth. Additional member Budget R. Kashyap has been given additional charge as Financial Commissioner for six months.Member Electrical Kul Bhushan has been given additional charge of Member Traffic, which post has been lying vacant for some time now. Mr. Mittal looked after it till his retirement.

The seniormost member on the board, Mr. Bhushan, did not figure in the stop-gap arrangement apparently in the wake of the CBI initiating a preliminary enquiry against him in connection with irregularities in the award of a contract for commercial development of railway land.
