लांबलचक जुनाट सबवे ... जागोजागी लागलेली पाण्याची गळती ... गुडघाभर तर कधी ढोपरभर साचलेले पाणी ... कचरा , दुर्गंधी , भिकारी गर्दुल्ल्यांचा त्रास ... कल्याण पूर्वेतील स्टेशन परिसराची ही स्थिती अशी आहे . यातून कल्याणकरांची सुटका व्हावी म्हणून मुंब्र्याच्या धर्तीवर सुसज्ज स्टेशनचा प्रकल्प अहवाल तयार करुन तो रेल्वेला सादर करण्याबाबत खा . आनंद परांजपे यांनी पालिका आयुक्तांना सुचवले आहे . हा प्रकल्प अहवाल सादर झाल्यानंतर कल्याण स्टेशनच्या नव्या लूकसाठी आपण पाठपुरावा करू असे आश्वासनही खा . परांजपे यांनी पालिका आयुक्तांना बुधवारी दिले . केडीएमसीने या सुशोभिकरणासाठी २०१३ - १४ च्या अर्थसंकल्पात १ कोटींची तरतूद केली आहे .

मुंबईचे उपनगरातील शेवटचे मोठे स्टेशन म्हणून कल्याणची ओळख आहे . मोठ्या संख्येने येणाऱ्या मेल आणि लोकल यांमुळे स्टेशनवर दिवसाचे २४ तास प्रवाशांची मोठी गर्दी असते . तिकीट खिडक्यांच्या नूतनीकरणाव्यतिरीक्त या स्टेशनात कोणतेही बदल करण्यात आलेले नाहीत . प्रवासी वाढले मात्र स्टेशनची क्षमता तीच आहे . कल्याण पूर्वेतील प्रवाशांची स्थिती विदारक आहे . पावसाळ्याच्या दिवसांत दुर्गंधी , कचरा , चिखल , पाणी , भिकारी , गर्दुल्ले यातून चालणे म्हणजे नरकयातनाच . लोकग्रामच्या जुन्या ब्रिजवरून प्रवासी जीव मुठीत घेऊन चालतात . मुंब्रा स्टेशनच्या विकासानंतर कल्याण स्टेशनकडे लक्ष देण्याचा आपला प्रयत्न असल्याचे स्पष्ट करत बुधवारी आनंद परांजपे यांनी केडीएमसी आयुक्त रामनाथ सोनवणे यांची भेट घेतली .
स्थानिक स्वराज्य संस्थांनी स्टेशनच्या सुशोभिकरणासाठी प्रस्ताव दिल्यास रेल्वेने अशा प्रस्तावांना हिरवा कंदील दाखवण्याचे धोरण स्वीकारले आहे . यापूर्वी खासदारांनी केडीएमसी आयुक्तांना कल्याण स्टेशनचा सुशोभिकरण प्रस्ताव रेल्वेकडे सादर करण्याची विनंती केली होती . त्याचे पुढे काय झाले याची चौकशी आयुक्तांकडे केली असता कल्याण स्टेशनच्या परिसर सुशोभिकरणाचा प्रकल्प तयार करण्यात आला असून , पुढील दोन दिवसांत तो रेल्वेच्या महाव्यवस्थापकांकडे पाठवणार असल्याचे आयुक्तांनी स्पष्ट केले . प्रस्ताव सादर केल्यानंतर केडीएमसी अधिकारी आणि रेल्वेच्या वतीने या भागाची संयुक्तिक पाहणी करण्यात येईल . आमदार , खासदार निधी आणि रेल्वेबरोबरच केडीएमसीच्या सहकार्याने सुशोभिकरणाचे काम मार्गी लावण्यासाठी प्रयत्न करण्याचे आश्वासन खा . परांजपे यांनी दिले आहे .

स्कायवॉकच्या कामाबद्दल नाराजी

नागरिकांसाठी बांधल्या जाणाऱ्या स्कायवॉकने तर संथगतीचा रेकॉर्ड मोडीत काढला आहे . त्यामुळे कल्याण पूर्वेतील प्रवाशांचे हाल होत असल्याचे सांगत आनंद परांजपे यांनी या प्रकरणी प्रशासनाकडे नाराजी व्यक्त केली .

रेल्वेत धूम्रपान करणाऱ्या ३३ जणांना पकडून आरपीएफने त्यांच्याकडून दंड वसूल केला . दक्षिण पूर्व मध्य रेल्वेच्या नागपूर मंडळातील सुरक्षा आयुक्त डी . बी . गौर यांच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली आरपीएफने अनधिकृत व्हेंडर , धूम्रपान करणारे , तृतीयपंथी , विनातिकीट प्रवास करणारे , रेल्वे फाटकावर नियमांचे उल्लंघन करणारे यांच्याविरुद्ध धडक मोहीम राबविली . यात १७ अनधिकृत व्हेंडर्स , २७ ट्रेस पासर्स , ३३ धूम्रपान करणारे व ४६५ विनातिकीट प्रवाशांना पकडण्यात आले . रेल्वे फाटकावर नियमांचे उल्लंघन करणारे ५ जण आरपीएफच्या जाळ्यात अडकले . या सर्वांकडून एकूण १ लाख ४२ हजार २३५ रु . दंड वसूल करण्यात आला .
धावत्या गाडीत प्रवाशांच्या सामानाची चोरी , तिकीट दलाली , रेल्वे साहित्याची चोरी हे प्रकार थांबविण्यासाठी दपूमरेने विशेष टास्क फोर्स स्थापन केला आहे .

It was a function organised by the Madurai Divisional Railway on Saturday to mark the inaugural run of Silambu Express, the first-ever express train to originate from Manamadurai.Two Union Ministers – sons of Sivaganga district, more particularly, Sivaganga Parliamentary constituency, Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram and Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry E.M. Sudarasana Natchiappan – were to flag off the train service between Manamadurai and Chennai Egmore Railway stations.The train rake, with brand new coaches, was decorated with banana plants and colourful festoons. Scores of Congress cadre had arrived at the railway station late in the evening.While the flagging off ceremony was scheduled at 8.15 p.m., Dr. Natchiappan, who was recently inducted into the Union Cabinet, arrived at around 7.40 p.m. He was received by a boisterous group of Congress cadre.During an informal chat, Dr. Natchiappan told reporters that he would speak about some of the important aspects on industrialisation of the southern districts while addressing the meeting organised to flag off the new train.As Mr. Chidambaram arrived at the station, all the dignitaries, Divisional Railway Manager A.K. Rastogi and Additional DRM V. Ajith Kumar, occupied the chairs on the dais put up on the railway platform at around 8 p.m.

The crowd, including railway union members, were eagerly waiting to listen to the Ministers. The meeting assumed more significance since it was the first public meeting in which Dr. Natchiappan was to address the gathering as a Union Minister.

However, the Ministers were seen talking either to the railway officials or to the Congress cadre who were standing below the dais. The cadre seated in the last rows did not know what was happening. As time passed, suddenly there was an announcement on the public address system that the Ministers would flag off the train.

Once the ceremony was over, the Ministers left the station without addressing the gathering, disappointing mainly the Congress cadre, including women.

GUWAHATI: Criticizing the delay in completion of railway projects in the northeast, CPI (M)'s youth wing, Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), on Sunday accused the Centre of not giving importance to improvement of railway connectivity in the region.The Tripura and Assam units of DYFI has decided to stage a demonstration before the Northeast Frontier Railway headquarters at Maligaon on August 7, demanding early completion of railway projects. DYFI Tripura unit president, Tapas Dutta, said broad gauge conversion of tracks in South Assam is an important railway projects, but it is still incomplete.

The Railway Police, on Sunday, booked four pantry car workers of Duronto Express who allegedly beat up four passengers of the train following a scuffle over delayed supply of meals.According to the complaint received by the police, the workers attacked the passengers while they were about to alight at the Kozhikode railway station around 2.40 p.m. The workers were taken into police custody and charged under Section 341 (wrongful restraint) and 323 (for voluntarily causing hurt) of the IPC. The journey of the Ernakulam-bound train was resumed after a one-and-a-half-hour long halt at the Kozhikode station.

कोडरमा-गिरिडीह रेलखंड में कोडरमा से नवाडीह 34 किलोमीटर तक रेल परिचालन 25 जून को शुरू हो जाएगा। इसके लिए रेलवे महकमे ने तैयारी शुरू कर दी है। पूर्व-मध्य रेलवे निर्माण के द्वारा कोडरमा से नावाडीह तक ओपन लाइन को हस्तांतरित करने के बाद धनबाद रेल मंडल इस रेलखंड पर परिचालन शुरू करेगा। इसके मद्देनजर बुधवार को धनबाद रेल मंडल के अपर मंडल रेल प्रबंधक राजेश मोहन ने निर्माण विभाग के अधिकारियों के साथ डीजल इंजन दो स्पेशल सैलून के जरिए कोडरमा से नावाडीह के बीच तक विंडो इंस्पेक्शन किया।कोडरमा स्टेशन पर एडीआरएम राजेश मोहन ने पत्रकारों से बातचीत करते हुए कहा कि कोडरमा-नावाडीह रेल खंड पर पैचिंग का कार्य पूरा हो चुका है और कुछ अन्य कार्य बाकी है जिसे अगले दो-तीन दिनों में पूरा कर लिया जाएगा। संभवत: 25 जून को इस खंड पर रेल परिचालन को शुरू कर दिया जाएगा। इसके लिए मुख्यालय से अनुमति मिलने बाकी है।

श्री मोहन ने बताया कि इस खंड पर परिचालन शुरू होते ही कोडरमा स्टेशन को जंक्शन का दर्जा मिल जाएगा। पूछे जाने पर उन्होंने बताया कि यात्री सुविधा को और बेहतर बनाने के लिए रेल प्रशासन कृतसंकल्पित है। इसके तहत स्टेशन कोच इंडीकेशन बोर्ड की सुविधा भी मुहैया कराई जाएगी।

बताते चलें कि इस सप्ताह कोडरमा-नावाडीह रेलखंड पर चलनेवाली डीएमयू ट्रेन के शुभारंभ के मौके पर पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री सह कोडरमा सांसद बाबूलाल मरांडी व स्थानीय विधायक अन्नपूर्णा देवी को विशेष रूप से आमंत्रित किया जाएगा।

निरीक्षण के दौरान वरीय मंडल संरक्षा अधिकारी बीएन लाल, वरीय मंडल संकेत एवं दूरसंचार अभियंता अमरेंद्र कुमार, वरीय अनुभाग अभियंता डी. दत्ता, निर्माण विभाग के उपमुख्य अभियंता एमएम प्रसाद, कार्यपालक अभियंता पीसी प्रसाद, सहायक अभियंता एके सिंह, पीडब्ल्यूआई एचएन चौबे, रेलवे यूनियन गझंडी शाखा के सचिव एमके महाराज आदि मौजूद थे।

इधर, अधिकारियों के कोडरमा पहुंचने पर स्टेशन प्रबंधक अरविंद लाल, सीटीआई केके ओझा, यातायात निरीक्षक अरविंद कुमार सुमन ने उनका स्वागत किया।

BANIHAL :  Undeterred by challenges it faced while executing two big-ticket infra projects here, Hindustan Construction Company will bid for such upcoming works in this region like the 13-km Arpinchala-Dharam underground railway project.
The Mumbai-based firm has recently executed the 11-km long Pir Panjal railway tunnel, the third longest in the world, and also the Uri-II hydro power project in Jammu and Kashmir.
The company is set to bid for the 13-km long Arpinchala- Dharam project as well, the official said.
“The Banihal-Qazigund railway tunnel, the longest in the country, was awarded to us in 2005. The track is now ready for the Railways. The amount of challenges we had to face was mind-boggling.
“However, that does not deter us from bidding for more projects and we are, in fact, working on the same route that will connect between Dharam-Sumbar. We will bid for more projects on the same track in the coming days,” said tunnel’s project manager Sharanappa Yalal.
Sources said that government has already come out with a tender inviting developers to bid for the Arpinchala to Dharam project and HCC is making preparations to bid for it.
HCC had bagged the Pir Panjal tunnel  project from IRCON, a construction subsidiary of the Railways, in 2005. Though the initial cost of the project was Rs 400 crore, it went up to Rs 800 crore as the scope of the project widened.
The tunnel, which connects the Bichelri valley of Banhial in Jammu with Qazigund in Kashmir, will reduce the distance between the two places to 18 km from 35 km by road.
“It will also help the economy of the two places. The tunnel will facilitate transportation during winter. During the most part of the year, the inclement weather forces closure of the road tunnel and the highway,” Yalal said.
“However, it was not easy to execute the project. Initially, we had brought two road headers from Germany for boring the tunnel. But, as we started working, we found the geologically young and unstable mountain range is not fit for traditional way of tunneling. We then brought the New Austrian Tunneling method for the first time in India,” he said.
The official said the Uri-II 240 MW hydro power project is also ready for commissioning though it has been taken out of the PM’s inauguration agenda during his two-day proposed visit here as NHPC said it had developed some technical snag.
“We have done the civil construction part of the project and the project hand over is likely to happen soon. It is up to NHPC to decide on the date of commissioning of the project,” he said.
NHPC is building the Rs 1,724 crore project at Baramulla on the river of Jhelum.
Talking about the Pir Panjal project, Yayal said: “The company faced weather problems as well. During November to June period of the year, the area remains almost inaccessible due to snow, which envelopes the arterial road causing huge problems for transporting required materials. Getting manpower, even those who are unskilled, was difficult.”
The tunnel is a part of the 345-km long Jammu Udhampur Srinagar Baramulla Railway Link, aimed at connecting Jammu to Baramulla on the northwestern part of the valley.
Trains now ply from Baramulla to Quazigund and Jammu to Udhampur on this stretch. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is likely to inaugurate the tunnel, thereby connecting Qazigund to Banihal.
Around 90-km long stretch, between Udhampur to Banihal is to be completed to get the stretch connected by the Railways.
Meanwhile, sources said Railways is likely to tie up with state transport authority to help passengers reach out to the unlinked passage by bus at no extra cost. Passengers would be able to book tickets up to Baramulla. An announcement in this regard is likely during the tunnel’s inauguration by the Prime Minister.
HCC has executed a majority of India’s landmark infrastructure projects. Its landmark works include the Bandra Worli Sea Link, Mumbai – India’s first and longest open sea cable-stayed bridge; the Kolkata Metro, Farakka Barrage and India’s largest nuclear power plant at Kudankulam – Tamil Nadu. દેશના કોઇ પણ ખૂણે કુદરતી આપદા આવે ત્યારે ત્યાં રાહત સામગ્રી મોટા ભાગે રેલવે મારફતે પહોંચાડવામાં આવતી હોય છે. જેને કારણે આવી પરિસ્થિતિને ધ્યાને રાખી તાત્કાલિક રેલવે વિભાગ રાહત સામગ્રી પહોંચાડવા માટે એક પણ રૂપિયાનો ચાર્જ રેલવેએ લેવો નહિ તેવો પરિપત્ર બહાર પાડવામાં આવતો હોય છે. જ્યારે પશ્ચિમ રેલવેમાં હજુ પણ આવો કોઇ પણ પરિપત્ર નહિ આવતા રાહત સામગ્રી પહોંચાડવા માટે નાણાં વસૂલવા કે કેમ તે અંગે સ્થાનિક તંત્ર અવઢવમાં મુકાયું છે.

ઉત્તરકાશીમાં સર્જાયેલી ભારે તારાજીને પગલે સમગ્ર દેશમાંથી રાહત સામગ્રી પહોંચાડવાની શરૂઆત થઇ છે. ત્યારે સુરત સહિત સમગ્ર દક્ષિણ ગુજરાતમાંથી પણ રાહત સામગ્રીનો મોટો જથ્થો રવાના કરવામાં આવનાર છે. તેમજ ત્યાંના લોકોની જરૂરિયાતને ધ્યાને રાખીને પણ આગામી દિવસોમાં તે જ વસ્તુ લોકો સુધી પહોંચાડવાની પણ તૈયારીઓ કરી દેવામાં આવી છે. પરંતુ આ રાહત સામગ્રી ટ્રેન મારફતે પહોંચાડવા માટે રેલવે તંત્ર દ્વારા દર વખતે રાહત સામગ્રી મોકલવા માટે એક પણ રૂપિયો વસૂલવો નહિ તેવો પરિપત્ર બહાર પાડવામાં આવતો હોય છે. જ્યારે હજુ આજે પણ આવો કોઇ પરિપત્ર પશ્ચિમ રેલવે દ્વારા સુરત રેલવે સ્ટેશન પર મોકલવામાં આવ્યો નહિ હોવાના કારણે રાહત સામગ્રી પેટે ચાર્જ વસૂલવો કે કેમ તે અંગે સ્થાનિક તંત્ર અવઢવની સ્થિતિમાં મુકાયા છે. જેથી આગામી દિવસોમાં રેલવે તંત્ર દ્વારા રાહત સામગ્રી પહોંચાડવા માટે તાકીદે અગાઉની જેમજ પરિપત્ર બહાર પાડવામાં આવે તેની રાહ જોવાઇ રહી છે.

SCR to Introduce Two New Trains Announced in Rail Budget-2013

No. 17224 Kurnool City-Secunderabad Intercity Express (Daily) & Train No. 77696 Kurnool City-Nandyal DEMU Passenger (five days in week) at a function to be held at Kurnool City Railway Station at 10 00 hrs o­n  25th June, 2013 (Tuesday). These trains were announced in the Rail Budget-2013.

These trains were announced in the Rail Budget-2013.
Other public representatives concerned, dignitaries and senior Railway officials will participate in the inaugural function.
Regular Timings of Kurnool City-Secunderabad-Kurnool City Intercity Express (Daily):- After its inaugural run, this Intercity Express will run to its scheduled timings for its run from Secunderabad to Kurnool City o­n the same day (ie, 25thJune, 2013). Accordingly, Train No. 17223 Secunderabad-Kurnool City Intercity Express will depart Secunderabad at 16 45 hrs, Kacheguda at 17 02 hrs, Falaknuma at 17 15 hrs, Umdanagar at 17 37 hrs, Timmapur at 17 50 hrs, Shadnagar at 18 00 hrs, Jadcherla at 18 35 hrs, Mahbubnagar at 18 50 hrs, Wanaparti Road at 19 30 hrs, Sriramnagar at 19 42 hrs, Gadwal at 20 00 hrs and arrive Kurnool Town at 21 35 hrs o­n the same day.
            In the return direction, Train No.17224 Kurnool City-Secunderabad Intercity Express will depart Kurnool City at 6 05 hrs, on Gadwal at 07 00 hrs, Sriramnagar at 07 10 hrs, Wanaparti Raod at 07 20 hrs, Mahabubnagar at 08 00 hrs, Jadcherla at 08 20 hrs, Shadnagar at 08 50 hrs, Timmapur at 09 02 hrs, Umdanagar at 09 30 hrs, Falaknuma at 09 45 hrs and arrive Secunderabad at 10 45 hrs. These trains will have 18 Coaches Viz., 14 General Second Class, o­ne AC Chair Car, o­ne Pantry Car and two General Second Class cum Brake Van Coaches.
Regular Timings of Kurnool City-Nandyal-Kurnool City DEMU Passenger (five days in a week):-After its inaugural run, this Passenger train will resume its scheduled timings from 26th June, 2013.                                                                                                                                     
            Accordingly, Train No. 77696 Kurnool City-Nandyal DEMU Passenger will depart Kurnool City o­n Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 17 30 hrs, Veldurti at 18 20 hrs, Dhone at 19 30 hrs, Bethemcherla at 20 12 hrs and arrive Nandyal at 22 10 hrs o­n the same day. This train will stop at all the stations enroute.
In the return direction, Train No. 77695 Nandyal-Kurnool City DEMU Passenger  Train will depart Nandyal at 06 15 hrs o­n Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Bethemcherla at 07 20 hrs, Dhone at 09 05 hrs, Veldurti at 09 30 hrs and arrive Kurnool City at 10 20 hrs o­n the same day. This  train will stop at all the stations En-route.
Salient features of Train No. 17224 Kurnool City – Secunderabad
Intercity Express
1.        The Historic city of Kurnool is at present connected by Rail to the twin-cities through    5 daily Express, 11 non-daily Express and 4 Passenger trains.
2.        There  have  been several  demands from the passengers of this region for an early          morning Express service from Kurnool, arriving  Secunderabad before noon so that            people can    attend  their    works in Hyderabad and return back the same day.  In            response to the public demand, this new Intercity Express has been designed to leave          Kurnool City in the early hours at 06:05 hrs. to reach  Secunderabad by 10:45 hrs.
3.        This new Intercity Express announced in Rail Budget - 2013, will be helpful in enhancing the Rail connectivity from Kurnool, key District Headquarters city to the State Capital. It serves as a useful  service opposite to the popular Tungabhadra Express, which leaves            early in the    morning from Secunderabad to Kurnool.
4.        This train will be  beneficial to various sections of people like students, employees          and businessmen etc., from the towns situated enroute like Gadwal, Mahaboobnagar, Jadcherla and Shadnagar etc.,  as it provides an economical and comfortable day  travel facility to Hyderabad and Kurnool. This train covers a distance of 244 kms. in    4 hrs. 40 minutes o­nly.
5.        The composition of the train:  14 General Second Sitting, 1 AC Chair car, 1 Pantry Car    and  2 General Second sitting cum Luggage Brake vans,  totaling to 18 coaches.
Salient features of Kurnool City - Nandyal DEMU Passenger
1.    Nandyal is at present connected by Rail to Kurnool City by o­nly  2 pass - through passenger trains. Honouring the representations from the people of  Kurnool District  to enhance the rail connectivity between these two fast growing areas, a new DEMU passenger between Kurnool City and Nandyal has been announced in Railway Budget - 2013.
2.      This new DEMU service stops at all the Stations enroute and brings the people of several villages and towns like Veldurthi, Dhone, Rangapuram and Bethamcherla etc., much closer by providing an affordable and convenient Public travel facility.
3.        This passenger service will be of immense use for various sections of  commuters o­n this route,  especially students, employees and traders in travelling to their nearest towns either towards Nandyal or Kurnool City.
4.      The composition of the train consists of  2  Diesel Power Cars and 6 Train Cars.
5.      Scheduled days of service:  Ex: Kurnool Town - Sun, Mon, Thu, Fri,  Sat
                                                      Ex: Nandyal - Sun, Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat.
