NEW DELHI: Era Infra Engineering LtdBSE 0.00 % (EIEL) today said it has bagged a construction order worth Rs 383.7 crore from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. "EIEL...has been awarded a contract....for construction of elevated viaduct, five elevated stations...including architectural finishing, plumbing works of stations on Alwaye-Petta line of Kochi Metro Rail Project at Kochi, Kerala by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd," the company said in a filing to BSE. EIEL is an integrated infrastructure company with its presence across the country. The company had reported 26 per cent dip in consolidated net profit at Rs 109 crore for the year ended March 31, 2013. However, the consolidated net sales for last fiscal rose to Rs 4,684.8 crore, over Rs 4,365.9 crore in FY'12. The shares of the company closed at Rs 143.60 a piece, down 1.34 per cent from the previous close.

The President of India, as advised by the Prime Minister, has accepted the resignation from the following members of the Council of Ministers with immediate effect:

1. Shri C.P. Joshi, Minister for Road Transport and Highways & Minister for Railways; and
2. Shri Ajay Maken, Minister for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation.

Eight new faces were inducted in the Council of Ministers on Monday, with Sisram Ola and Oscar Fernandes making a re-entry after a gap of four years.The newly-inducted ministers of state are Manikrao Gavit, Santosh Chowdhury, JD Seelam, EMS Natchiappan.The swearing in of new ministers was scheduled for 5.30 p.m. at Rashtrapati Bhawan.Here is the list of newly-inducted minister in the Cabinet:
1. Sisram Ola, 85, gets labour and employment portfolio. He was first elected to Rajasthan assembly in 1957.
2. Oscar Fernandes 72, gets road and highways ministry. He is Rajya Sabha member.
3. Girija Vyas, 66, gets housing, urban development and poverty alleviation. She is former NCW chairperson and MP from Chittorgarh.
4. KS Rao gets gets textiles ministry. He is 5-time Congress MP from Elluru in Andhra Pradesh.
5. Manikrao Gavit, 78, is ministers of state, social justice and empowerment
6. Santosh Chowdhary, Lok Sabha MP from Punjab, gets health & family welfare.
7. EMS Natchiappan, 65, MP from Tamil Nadu, gets commerce and industry ministry
8. JD Seelam becomes minister of state for finance
9. Mallikarjun Kharge becomes Railway minister. He didn't have to take oath as he was already a minister in cabinet.

Special Drive Against Ticketless Travel

Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway conducted a Special Drive today i.e., (17th June, 2013) under the direct supervision of Shri A Bharat Bhushan, Chief Commercial Manager, South Central Railway involving 85 Ticket Checking Staff, 12 RPF Personnel & Officers from Commercial Branch.

Many Express and Passenger trains were stopped at Cherlapalli Station especially for the special checkduring the drive.


A total of 566 persons were apprehended out of which 413 persons were found travelling without ticket and 46 persons were found travelling irregularly and 107 cases of un-booked luggage. A total amount of Rs. 1, 89,000/- was realized towards penalty from these ticketless / irregular travelers.

मुंबई. मौसम विभाग ने मुंबई में अगले 24 घंटे भारी बरसात होने की चेतावनी दी है. बीएमसी ने लोगों को मोबाइल से मैसेज भेजकर घर बाहर न निकलने की सलाह दी है. एसएमएस में लिखा है कि मौसम विभाग के अनुसार अगले 24 घंटों में भारी से भारी बारिश की चेतावनी है. इसलिए लोगों से अपील है कि जरूरत हो तभी घर से बाहर निकलें. दो दिनों से रुक-रुक कर तेज बारिश हो रही है, जिसके चलते निचले इलाकों में पानी भर गया है.

मुंबई के हिंदमाता इलाके में लगातार आफत बन कर बरसी बारिश के चलते बाढ़ जैसे मंजर नजर आते हैं. पिछले दो दिनों से रुक-रुक कर हो रही बारिश रविवार सुबह से ही तेज बरसने लगी. इसके अलावा दूसरे निचले इलाके मलाड, अंधेरी, वर्सोवा, दादर, कुर्ला, बायखला, परेल, चेंबूर, पूर्वी उपनगर के प्रमुख एलबीएस मार्ग के कई हिस्से और मरोल-साकीनाका इलाके में बाढ़ जैसे हालात पैदा हो गए. कुर्ला में लगातार बारिश से घरों और दुकानों में बारिश का पानी भर गया. रेस्टोरेंट में पानी घुस गया है जिससे लोगों को काफी दिक्कतों का सामना करना पड़ा.

मुंबई की लाइफ लाइन मानी जाने वाली लोकल ट्रेन की सेवा भी प्रभावित हुई.पटरी पानी में डूब गईं जिसकी वजह से वेस्टर्न लाइन पर ट्रेनें 30 मिनट देरी से चली.वहीं सेंट्रल लाइन पर सीएसटी और दादर के बीच और हार्बर लाइन पर सीएसटी और कुर्ला के बीच लोकल सेवा सुबह 10.30 के बाद बंद कर दी गई. यह दिन के दो बजे के बाद ही बहाल हो पाई.

रविवार होने की वजह से लोगों ने घरों में रहना बेहतर समझा लेकिन जिन्हें काम से या छुट्टी मनाने बाहर जाना था उन्हें परेशानियों का सामना करना पड़ा.चेंबुर में हुई भारी बरसात के बाद एक बार फिर बीएमसी के इंतजाम नाकाफी दिखे.

मुंबई के लावा महाराष्ट्र के ठाणे, सतारा, पुणे में भारी बारिश हो रही है.रत्नागिरी के खेड में आफत की बारिश ने भारी तबाही मचाई है. पिंपड़ी-चिचवाड़ रेलवे स्टेशन पर पेड़ गिरने की वजह से बत्ती गुल हो गई है. बुलढ़ाना जिले में एक आदमी की डूबने से मौत हो गई है.

जबलपुर. पल पल संवाददाता. मुख्य रेलवे स्टेशन सहित बाहर परिसर की सफाई व्यवस्था कभी भी बंद हो सकती है. इसकी वजह यह सामने आ रही है कि वर्तमान में संविदा कर्मी के रूप में स्वास्थ्य निरीक्षक के रूप में पदस्थ निरीक्षक की मनमानी से सफाई ठेकेदार का पूरा सफाई अमला परेशान है. इस सम्बन्ध में मिली जानकारी के मुताबिक़ मुख्य रेलवे स्टेशन के एक से लेकर चार नंबर प्लेटफार्म सहित बाहर परिसर की साफ-सफाई का जिम्मा प्राइवेट ठेकेदार के पास है. ठेकेदार द्वारा जहाँ स्टेशन की स्वच्छता पर विशेष ध्यान दिया जाता है तो दूसरी ओर स्टेशन पर कोई यात्री की मौत हो जाए तो उसे प्राईवेट सफाई ठेकेदार के सफाई कर्मी ही ट्रेन से उतार मेडीकल चिकित्सालय पोस्टमार्टम के लिए ले जाते है जबकि इन सब कार्यों का किसी प्रकार से रेलवे से अनुबंध नहीं है. मानवता के नाते ठेकेदार द्वारा इसमें सहयोग दिया जाता है जबकि यह कार्य रेल प्रशासन के कर्मचारियों का है. इसी का फायदा उठा संविदा स्वास्थ निरीक्षक जहां सफाई ठेकेदार पर भारी भरकम जुर्माना लगा देता है वहीं सफाई कर्मियों को बेवजह परेशान करने के चलते ठेकेदार ने सफाई कार्य ठप्प करने का निर्णय ले लिया है. अधिकारियों से चर्चा के बाद सफाई व्यवस्था बंद हो सकती है. यदि एक भी घंटे के लिए रेलवे की सफाई व्यवस्था ठप्प हो जाती है तो रेलवे स्टेशन पर यात्रियों का खड़ा होना दूभर हो जाएगा.

Kochi: The move by the Thiruvananthapuram division authorities to cancel about 40 posts of station masters may have stirred a hornet’s nest. But it is yet to implement a 2002 railway board order to post additional station masters to relive ‘stress.

The railway board order to all divisions to recruit additional station masters was taken after conducting a study which found ‘increasing stress’ due to work burden. The Southern railways was allotted 308 posts but not a single additional station master has been appointed in the Thiruvanantapuram division so far.

“When for years they failed to appoint personnel we resorted to protest and finally the order to appoint 55 ASMs was released in 2010. But the appointments were never made,” All-India Station Masters’ Association divisional secretary Udayaprasad said.

As a result the 371 station masters under the division are being denied leave even for urgent matters and many of them have to work for up to 16 hours at a stretch, going against the crux of the earlier study.

When contacted, a senior railway official said, there are not enough vacancies in the division. “There is not enough work to appoint 55 personnel; at the most 10 to 12 additional personnel are needed,” he said.
