उदयपुर. केंद्रीय रेल एवं भूतल परिवहन मंत्री सीपी जोशी ने उदयपुर-जयपुर के बीच शताब्दी जैसी सुपरफास्ट ट्रेन चलाने की घोषणा शनिवार को दिल्ली में की। इसके अलावा उन्होंने कहा कि नाथद्वारा कस्बे तक शीघ्र ही रेल लाइन बिछाई जाएगी।

जोशी ने उदयपुर से जयपुर के बीच शताब्दी की तर्ज पर एक ऐसी ए-क्लास ट्रेन चलाने की घोषणा की है जो सुबह चलकर शाम तक वापस लौट आए। हवाई यात्रियों के समकक्ष उच्च श्रेणी के यात्रियों को आराम दायक सफर की सुविधा उपलब्ध कराने के लिए शताब्दी स्तर की ट्रेन चलाई जाएगी।

यह ट्रेन उदयपुर सिटी से रवाना होकर भीलवाड़ा और अजमेर स्टेशनों पर रुकती हुई जयपुर पहुंचेगी। यह ट्रेन चित्तौडग़ढ़ न जाकर घोसुंडा बायपास से चंदेरिया होकर अजमेर मेन लाइन पर जाएगी। राणा प्रतापनगर, मावली, फतहनगर, कपासन, बिजयनगर, नसीराबाद, किशनगढ़ और फुलेरा स्टेशनों पर ट्रेन का ठहराव नहीं होगा।

शताब्दी की तर्ज पर प्रस्तावित ट्रेन के सभी कोच वातानुकूलित होंगे। सेकेंड क्लास के सामान्य और स्लीपर क्लास के डिब्बे इस ट्रेन में नहीं लगाए जाएंगे। उदयपुर से जयपुर के बीच भीलवाड़ा और अजमेर में अल्प समय का ठहराव होने से यात्रियों के लिए जलपान व भोजन की व्यवस्था ट्रेन में उपलब्ध हो सकती है।

अजमेर से नई दिल्ली और अहमदाबाद से मुंबई सेंट्रल तक चलने वाली शताब्दी एक्सप्रेस ट्रेनों में पेंट्री कार चलती है। यात्रियों को टिकट बुक कराते समय लंच, डिनर या ब्रेकफास्ट का ऑर्डर बुक कराना होता है। वर्तमान में उदयपुर से चलने वाली किसी भी ट्रेन में पेंट्री कार की सुविधा उपलब्ध नहीं है।

स्टेशन पर मूलभूत सुविधाएं बढ़ाई जाएंगी

रेल मंत्री जोशी ने शताब्दी श्रेणी की ट्रेन चलाने की घोषणा के साथ एलान किया कि पहले मूलभूत सुविधाएं बढ़ाई जाएंगी फिर ट्रेन चलेगी। उदयपुर क्षेत्र के रेल अधिकारियों के मुताबिक शताब्दी के टिकट आरक्षण का अलग काउंटर खोला जाएगा। ट्रेन में बैठने से पूर्व या ट्रेन से आने वाले यात्रियों की सुविधा के लिए वातानुकूलित वेटिंग रूम का निर्माण कराया जाएगा।

नाथद्वारा तक पहुंचेगी ट्रेन

भगवान श्रीनाथ की नगरी के बाशिंदों और बाहर से आने वाले तीर्थ यात्रियों की सुविधा के लिए नाथद्वारा कस्बे तक रेल लाइन बिछाने की घोषणा रेल मंत्री डा. सीपी. जोशी ने शनिवार को दिल्ली में की। मावली से मंडियाना तक बिछाए गए 16 किमी लंबे बड़ी लाइन के ट्रैक का विस्तार किया जाएगा।

प्लान के तहत मंडियाना स्टेशन से 11 किमी लंबी नई रेल लाइन नाथद्वारा तक बिछाई जाएगी। नाथुवास में नाथद्वारा का रेलवे स्टेशन बनाया जाएगा। नाथद्वारा तक रेल लाइन पहुंचने के बाद सूरत, मुंबई, राजकोट के लिए ट्रेनें चल सकेंगी। चार माह पूर्व पारित रेल बजट में नाथद्वारा-ओखा के लिए साप्ताहिक ट्रेन चलाने की घोषणा की गई थी।

नाथद्वारा कस्बे तक रेल लाइन डालने से दो वर्ष पूर्व निर्मित मावली-मंडियाना रेल लाइन पर ट्रेनें चल सकेंगी। दो वर्ष पूर्व 33 करोड़ रुपए खर्च करके डाले गए इस ट्रैक तक अब तक कोई ट्रेन नहीं चलाई जा सकी।

Heavy rains continued to lash Mumbai and the adjoining Thane district, causing water-logging in the city and the suburbs and hitting suburban train services on the central line as the tracks were flooded.Suburban train services along Dadar-CST on the central line were suspended due to water logging at Masjid, Sandhurst Road and Byculla stations in the morning.Services resumed in the afternoon after the rains subsided.Services on the CST-Kurla harbour line, too, were suspended since morning due to the rains.However, operations were normal between Kurla and Kalyan, Karjat, Kasara and Kurla towards Panvel as also between Thane and Vashi.However, being a Sunday, disruption of services did not cause too many problems as Mumbaikars generally preferred to stay indoors due to the heavy downpour since yesterday.Flight operations at the domestic and international airports were normal.Water logging was meanwhile reported in the low-lying areas of the city and the suburbs.Till 11.30 A.M., Colaba had recorded 122.4-mm rainfall while Santacruz received 35-mm.Central Railway officials said two long distance trains were short terminated due to the showers.The 50104 Ratnagiri-Dadar Passenger was stopped at Diva and will leave as the 50103 Dadar-Ratnagiri Passenger from Diva.And, the 12140 Nagpur-Mumbai Sewagram Express was held up at Dadar and will leave as the 12139 Mumbai-Nagpur Sewagram Express from Dadar.

Meanwhile, trains which have been rescheduled are as follows: 12105 Mumbai-Gondia Vidarbha Express, which will leave at 2125 hrs instead of at 1910 hrs; 12869 Mumbai-Howrah Express, leaving at 1330 hrs instead of at 1105 hrs; 16339 Mumbai-Nagercoil Express at 1400 hrs instead of at 1205 hrs; 22820 LTT-Visakhapatnam Express at 1430 hrs instead of at 1225 hrs.

The departure of the 12322 Mumbai-Howrah Mail via Allahabad has been pushed back to 0400 hrs tomorrow instead of at 2125 hrs tonight.

A report from Thane said that two ashram schools in the tribal region of the district were submerged in the heavy downpour in the last couple of days.

The disaster control room said that the ashram schools of Gotapada and Shani Pada in Betagaon in Palghar taluka were submerged although no injuries were reported.

In another incident in Ambernath, the walls of Waldhuni and Khuntawali schools collapsed in heavy showers. But neither were any injuries reported there, the control room added.

Reports also said that the Barrage dam at Badlapur was flowing 1.5 metres short of the danger mark.

Fishing on the high seas has been banned by the district administration from June 15 to August 15.

Heavy rains over two days have crippled suburban trains and hit life in Mumbai Sunday, officials said.Many low-lying areas in the city and suburbs were flooded due to the incessant downpour accompanied by gusty winds that lashed the metropolis.According to the BMC Disaster Control Cell, many areas reported flooding of one to three feet of water, and even more in some areas.Flood waters entered the ground floor homes and shops in places like Sion, Kurla, Chunabhatti, Dadar, Parel, Byculla, Mazagaon, Masjid Bunder and Worli.Waterlogging was reported in roads at Dahisar, Borivli, Malad, Andheri, Santacruz and Mulund with vehicles compelled to take longer detours.The Central Railway suspended suburban services between Dadar-Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and Kurla-CST on the Harbour Line from 10.35 a.m. after the tracks went under water.The water entered even some suburban railway stations.Several long-distance trains scheduled to leave Mumbai were delayed by three to six hours while incoming services were terminated midway, inconveniencing passengers.Western Railway trains ran late by 15-20 minutes Sunday though there was no dislocation of services.According BMC, Mumbai recorded a whopping 10.5 cm of rains till 2 p.m. Sunday.The IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rains over Mumbai and surrounding areas accompanied by gusts of up to 50 km per hour in the next two days.Fishermen on the Mumbai and Konkan coasts have been told not to venture into the choppy Arabian Sea.

Passengers at Dimapur railway station were subjected to over 12 hours of harrowing ordeal due to late arrival of Kamrup Express 15960  from Dibrugarh early Saturday morning . Hundreds of passengers had to bear the abnormal delay under searing heat and humidity. 

The train heading to Howrah Jn was  to arrive Dimapur at 2.10 a.m. Saturday and depart at 2.25 a.m. However, all passengers who were to board the train were kept in suspense for hours and were rudely shocked to find out themselves about further delay. 

One passenger who was heading to Guwahati for an emergency work was visibly upset.  “We had “no clue” as to why the train was delayed,” he said.

When the passengers approached the station inquiry counter, none of the railway staff could provide any clue as to how long the train would be delayed. The railway staff kept telling the passengers that the train would arrive soon.

A doctor traveling with his wife and a minor daughter were to reach Goa. He told this reporter “We had to keep waiting as the railway staff present kept saying the train will come, after 30 minutes.

What was even more frustrating was the fact that there was no electronic or manual display of information on the late arrival of the train.”

Another non-local man along with his wife and a little infant who were to board the train also kept asking the railway officials to let them know how many hours the train had been delayed. Getting no response of the staff, they had to undergo anxiety filled hardship.

When the train finally arrived at 3.30 p.m. Saturday afternoon, all the passengers who had been waiting heaved a sigh of relief but after over 12 hours of strenuous waiting under the sweltering summer heat.

According to a travel agent in Dimapur, a passenger train met with an accident at Mariani railway station last night which he said might have caused the delay. He disclosed that most of the trains were delayed for the same.

Udhgamandalam (TN): Nearly 180 tourists travelling by the famous Nilgiri Mountain Rail service were stranded for about three hours near Hillgrove station this morning following a landslide on the track, railway sources said.A huge boulder and loose soil fell on the track at a spot, displacing the train's rack and pinion system and blocking its movement, they said.The train had started from Mettupalayam around 7.15 AM.

Update at 17.00 hrs

Due to heavy and continuous rains in Mumbai, water logging reported at Masjid, Sandhurst Road, Byculla.  Main line suburban services were suspended between CST and Dadar from 10.35 hrs to 14.10 hrs and harbour line services were suspended between CST and Kurla from 10.35 hrs to 14.45 hrs o­n 16.6.2013. In all about 340 suburban services were cancelled and suburban services are running 30-45 minutes behind schedule. 

The following long distance trains are rescheduled
1) 12071 Mumbai-Aurangabad Janshatabdi Express will leave at 18.00 hrs instead of 13.50 hrs
2) 11019 Mumbai-Bhubaneshwar Konark Express will leave at 21.35 hrs instead of 15.10 hrs

Kanpur: Seventeen minor girls were rescued from the Central Railways station here with railway police saying that they were being taken to Delhi to work as labourers. "Upon receiving a tipoff that girls from Ranchi were being taken to Delhi to work as labourers, a GRP team began searching the Ranchi Sampark Kranti Express the moment it entered the station yesterday and found them," GRP DSP Surendra Tiwari said. Five youths and one woman have been arrested in connection with the case, Tiwari said. The arrested persons said that other girls were on the train who, too, were being taken to Delhi for the same purpose as the ones rescued. However, police could not rescue the rest of them as the train had already left the station by the time they learnt of the other girls, Tiwari said, adding that Delhi police has been informed about the matter. The girls have been handed over to NGO Child Line and their parents are being contacted, police said.

Kanyakumari: With the counselling dates for engineering courses by Anna University scheduled from June 21 to July 30, rail users from Kanyakumari district have appealed to the railway authorities to operate special trains for the benefit of students and parents during this period. According to the rail users, more number of students is expected to attend the counselling this year. But, there not many trains originating from the district to reach Chennai where the counselling is held. There are only three daily trains - Kanyakumari - Chennai Express, Thiruvananthapuram - Chennai Ananthapuri Express and Guruvayur - Chennai Express to Chennai in addition to five weekly trains and one bi-weekly trains in the section. However, getting reservation in these trains is near impossible, they said.Ignashius Stany, 17, from Thuckalay is planning to attend the counselling this year. "We have not decided the mode of travel yet but train journey will be more comfortable since travelling by bus for more than 12 hours and facing the counselling will be very tiring," he said. His father, Maria Johnson said that the bus fares are generally costlier when compared to the train and the fares may be hiked by the bus operators during the counselling time. "We may have to shell out more than Rs 1000 per head in private buses - the luxury ones for comfort and imagine the plight of poor students and their parents", Johnson who is a bank staff commented.

"When the counselling starts, hundreds of students along with their parents will travel to Chennai and special trains will be of immense help to them. Along with the engineering counselling, the medical and dental counselling will also start side by side. Daily trains during those days will be ideal but the railways can at least consider operating them three days in a week for the benefit of the students," said P Edward Jeni, secretary of Kanyakumari District Railway User's Association (KKDRUA). "Besides, if these special or existing trains are provided additional stoppage at Guindy or Saidapet, it will help the students to reach out Anna University campus without much hassle," he added.

When contacted, Rajesh Agarwal, divisional railway manager of Thirvananthapuram division under which Kanyakumari district falls said the association can submit a petition to the Southern Railway headquarters and send a copy to the DRM's office. "They can send their requirement to the railways and we will take it up with our headquarters to arrive at a favourable decision," he said.

गोंदिया - मुंबई या मार्गावर धावणा - या विदर्भ एक्सप्रेसला ' वसंतराव नाईक विदर्भ एक्सप्रेस ' असे नाव देण्याचा प्रस्ताव आहे . नाईक यांच्या जन्मशताब्दीनिमित्त महाराष्ट्र सरकारने हा निर्णय घेतला आहे .

विदर्भ एक्सप्रेसचे नाव बदलण्याबाबतचा प्रस्ताव लवकरच राज्य सरकारकडून केंद्रीय रेल्वे मंत्रालयाकडे पाठविण्यात येणार आहे . यासाठी रेल्वे बोर्डाकडूनही पाठपुरावा केला जाणार आहे . दरम्यान गुरुवारी यवतमाळ येथे सामाजिक न्यायमंत्री शिवाजीराव मोघे यांनी वसंतराव नाईक जन्मशताब्दी महोत्सवाचे कार्यक्रम जाहीर केले . त्यातही त्यांनी विदर्भ एक्सप्रेसच्या नामांतराचा प्रस्ताव पाठविण्यात येणार असल्याचा पुनरूच्चार केला . रेल्वेच्या नामांतरासोबतच वसंतराव नाईक यांच्यावर टपाल तिकिट काढण्याचा प्रस्तावही केंद्र सरकारला पाठविण्यात येणार आहे .

विनातिकीट प्रवास करणाऱ्या एका महिलेला महिला ​ टीसीने मारहाण केल्याची घटना गुरुवारी सकाळी मुख्य रेल्वेस्थानकावर घडली . मात्र , या प्रकाराची अद्याप पोलिसांत तक्रार नाही .

प्रत्यक्षदर्शींनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार , दक्षिण एक्स्प्रेसने एक महिला आपल्या दोन मुलांसह प्लॅटफॉर्म क्रमांक एकवर उतरली . महिला टीसीने तिला तिकिटाबद्दल विचारले . मात्र , तिच्याकडे तिकीट नव्हते . आपल्याला नागपूरला अंत्यसंस्कारासाठी यायचे होते व त्या घाईत तिकीट काढले नाही , असे त्या महिलेचे म्हणणे होते . यावेळी टीसीने तिच्याकडून १ हजार रुपयांचा दंड वसूल केला . मात्र , त्यावेळी दोघींमध्ये वाद झाला आणि टीसीने त्या महिलेच्या श्रीमुखात भडकवून दिली . त्यामुळे प्रवासी महिला रडायला लागली . विनातिकीट प्रवास केला म्हणून दंड वसूल केल्यावर मारले कशाला , असा तिचा सवाल होता . काही प्रवाशांनी त्या महिलेला पोलिसांत तक्रार देण्यास सांगितले . मात्र , अंत्यसंस्काराला जायचे असल्याने ती तशीच निघून गेल्याचे प्रत्यक्षदर्शींनी सांगितले .

नियमानुसार टीसींना प्रवाशांना मारण्याचा अधिकार नाही . विनातिकीट प्रवासी ऐकत नसल्यास त्याला टीसी पोलिसांकडे घेऊन जाऊ शकतात . मात्र , गुरुवारच्या या मारहाणीच्या घटनेमुळे टीसींचा उद्दामपणा समोर आला आहे . या घटनेमुळे रेल्वे स्थानकावर काही काळ तणाव पसरला होता .
