जमुई में धनबाद इंटरसिटी एक्सप्रेस पर दो दिन हुए नक्सली हमले के बाद रेल प्रशासन हर स्टेशनों की तरह अंडाल रेलवे स्टेशन पर सुरक्षा व्यवस्था कड़ी कर दी गई। अंडाल स्टेशन पर जीआरपी के जवानों को शनिवार को भी मुस्तैद देखा गया। स्टेशन पर यात्रियों के सामानों की जांच की गयी। वहीं संदेह होने पर यात्रियों से पूछताछ भी की गयी। वहीं स्टेशन के हर इलाके में जीआरपी जवान गश्ती भी लगाते रहे। जीआरपी अधिकारियों ने बताया कि जमुई में हुए नक्सली हमले के बाद हर स्टेशन एवं ट्रेनों की सुरक्षा बढ़ा दी गई है। ताकि फिर कोई अप्रिय घटना न हो। इस कारण स्टेशनों पर विशेष ध्यान दिया जा रहा है। |

उदयपुर. केंद्रीय रेल एवं भूतल परिवहन मंत्री सीपी जोशी ने उदयपुर-जयपुर के बीच शताब्दी जैसी सुपरफास्ट ट्रेन चलाने की घोषणा शनिवार को दिल्ली में की। इसके अलावा उन्होंने कहा कि नाथद्वारा कस्बे तक शीघ्र ही रेल लाइन बिछाई जाएगी। |

PATNA: With railways unable to cope with the increasing demand for confirmed tickets in any class for New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Secunderabad and Kolkata, 'Tatkal' scheme has come handy to the passengers under the Danapur division of East Central Railway (ECR).According to Danapur DRM L M Jha, Tatkal tickets are being issued from 41 locations under Danapur division between 10am and 12pm every day. However, Patna Junction, Rajendra Nagar Terminal, Danapur, Ara and Buxar continue to be major locations for issuing Tatkal tickets, he said. The DRM said railways is maintaining complete transparency in allotment of berths under Tatkal scheme. About 3,000 confirmed berths are being booked under Tatkal scheme every day under the division. Tatkal tickets are being issued to passengers under the strict surveillance of RPF to check malpractices, he said, adding two touts were arrested at Rajendra Nagar Terminal on June 11. According to sources, the weekly Patna-Vasco de Gama Express, which is running with full occupancy rate, is in more demand among Patnaites in summer. For such people, there is hardly any confirmed berths available in this train. Under the new Tatkal scheme, railways has earmarked about 30% berths in any superfast train. About 89 berths in AC2 and 143 in AC3 class in Patna-New Delhi Rajdhani Express (12309) have been allotted under 'Tatkal' scheme to cater to the needs of passengers, sources said. |

Heavy rains over two days have crippled suburban trains and hit life in Mumbai Sunday, officials said.Many low-lying areas in the city and suburbs were flooded due to the incessant downpour accompanied by gusty winds that lashed the metropolis.According to the BMC Disaster Control Cell, many areas reported flooding of one to three feet of water, and even more in some areas.Flood waters entered the ground floor homes and shops in places like Sion, Kurla, Chunabhatti, Dadar, Parel, Byculla, Mazagaon, Masjid Bunder and Worli.Waterlogging was reported in roads at Dahisar, Borivli, Malad, Andheri, Santacruz and Mulund with vehicles compelled to take longer detours.The Central Railway suspended suburban services between Dadar-Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and Kurla-CST on the Harbour Line from 10.35 a.m. after the tracks went under water.The water entered even some suburban railway stations.Several long-distance trains scheduled to leave Mumbai were delayed by three to six hours while incoming services were terminated midway, inconveniencing passengers.Western Railway trains ran late by 15-20 minutes Sunday though there was no dislocation of services.According BMC, Mumbai recorded a whopping 10.5 cm of rains till 2 p.m. Sunday.The IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rains over Mumbai and surrounding areas accompanied by gusts of up to 50 km per hour in the next two days.Fishermen on the Mumbai and Konkan coasts have been told not to venture into the choppy Arabian Sea. |
