The inspection of the Chandigarh-Ludhiana track continued for the second day on Sunday with a total of 43 kilometres of the track having been inspected in two days. Inspection of the track is being conducted by the officials of the Commission of Railways Safety.

The remaining eight kilometres of the Chandigarh-Ludhiana track will be inspected on Monday.

This will be followed by a speed trial.

The Chandigarh-Ludhiana track was constructed in three phases.

Two of the phases are already functional. In the first phase the 45 km track was completed between Chandigarh-Morinda.

The second phase was the 17 km stretch from Sahnewal to Ludhiana.

The 51 kilometre track between Morinda and Sahnewal was the only portion left that took several years to be completed.

It is this 51 km track that is being inspected. Over two days, 43 km has already been inspected.

Divisional Railways Manager, Ambala Division, P K Sanghi says, "Eight kilometres of the track remains to be inspected. Today the inspection was done on the portion from Khamano to Lall Kalan. The inspection will be completed by Monday. Thereafter a speed trial would be conducted."

Railways officials claim that no anomalies were found as the track was inspected. During the speed trial the engine attached to one or two coaches would be plied on the track to measure the oscillation.

It is only after the Commission for Railways Safety gives clearance, will the track be opened for trains to ply. Thereafter new trains will be started.

With the opening of the track, trains plying on the route will take between half an hour to 45 minutes less than the present travel time as the track takes a shorter route.

Southern Railway will operate weekly summer special trains to clear the extra rush of passengers during April, May and June 2013.According to a press release, Train No 06013 Chennai Egmore - Bikaner Weekly Special will leave Chennai Egmore at 15.15 hrs o­n Mondays from April 22 to June 10 and arrive at Bikaner at 17 hrs on Wednesdays.Train No 06014 Bikaner - Chennai Egmore Weekly Special will leave Bikaner at 14.55 hrs o­n Thursdays from April 25 to June 13 and arrive at Chennai Egmore at 15 hrs o­n Saturdays. The composition of the trains will be four AC 3-tier, eight Sleeper Class, four General Second Class and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches.The trains will stop at Gudur, Nellore, O­ngole, Vijayawada, Khammam, Warangal, Ramagundam, Sirpurkagaznagar, Balharshah, Chandrapur, Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Malkapur, Bhusaval, Jalgaon, Nandurbar, Surat, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Mahesana, Palanpur, Abu Road, Sirohi Road, Falna, Marwar Jn, Pali, Marwar, Luni, Jodhpur, Merta Road, Nagaur and Nokha.

रामनगर (बाराबंकी ): आखिरकार प्रदेश की राजधानी से लखनऊ से पूर्वाँचल का रेल सफर आसान हो गया। रविवार को पूर्वोत्तर रेलवे के बाराबंकी-गोंडा रेलखंड के चौकाघाट स्टेशन से घाघरा नदी पर निर्मित दूसरे नए रेलवे पुल पर ट्रेन चलाकर पुल का लोकार्पण किया गया।
रविवार को दोपहर बाद पुल पर ट्रेन चलाकर शुरुआत की गई। उदघाटन मौके पर चीफ इंजीनियर निर्माण डीके सिंह, डिप्टी चीफ इंजीनियर संदीप कुमार, अधिशाषी अभियंता निर्माण दीपक कुमार, पूर्वोत्तर रेलवे के सीनियर सेक्शन इंजीनियर निर्माण भीम सिंह सहित रेलवे के अधिकारियों की मौजूदगी में लोकार्पण किया गया। अधिकारियों के अनुसार अप व डाउन की दोनो ट्रेनों का संचालन पुल से करा दिया गया है।
अब बढ़ेगी रफ्तार : पूर्वी क्षेत्र के विभिन्न प्रांत को जोड़ने वाले बाराबंकी-गोरखपुर रेलखंड के दोहरीकरण के कार्य पूर्ण होने के बाद से इस रेलखंड से ट्रेनों की रफ्तार भी बढ़ जाएगी। दोनो ओर से आने व जाने वाली ट्रेनों को अब एल्गिन ब्रिज पर अलग-अलग पुल का लाभ मिलेगा।
यात्रियों को नही आएगी दिक्कत : अब दोहरे रेल ट्रैक के बाद पूर्वाचल के महत्वपूर्ण रेलखंड पर ट्रेनों को को हरे सिग्नल की प्रतीक्षा में घंटों विलंबित नहीं होना पड़ेगा।
दिन भर जुटे रहे अधिकारी : नवीन रेल पुल के शुभारंभ के लिए सुबह से रेल अधिकारी जुटे रहे। इससे करीब चार घंटे तक रेल खंड पर दोनों पुलों पर यातायात को रोका गया। इससे विभिन्न ट्रेनों पर सवार यात्रियों को घंटों दोनों ओर के रेलवे स्टेशनों पर रुकना पड़ा।
काफ समय से थी मांग : भारत के अन्यभागों को पूर्वोत्तर से जोड़ने वाले घाघरा नदी के उपरगामी रेलवे पुल के समानान्तर एक नया पुल चार वर्षो के इंतजार के बाद अस्तित्व में आ सका है। काफी समय से इसके बनाए जाने की मांग की जा रही थी।

NAGPUR: A notorious couple, allegedly selling liquor near Nagpur railway station, has been giving tough time to the police. The couple, Feroze Khan and wife Rukhsar, having several offences against them has been continuing selling liquor illegally defying police action.On Sunday, too, sources claimed liquor was available through the racket outside the railway station despite it being a dry day due to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar's birth anniversary. The racketeers are learnt to have made liquor available to prospective customers who contacted the right agent. It is learnt that the couple had been using RMS premises to stock liquor bottles. In order to dodge police, they would often occupy a place near the pan-kiosk on the footpath near Jai Stambh square without keeping any bottle in their own possession.The staffers from Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Sitabuldi police have been left hassled by the modus operandi of the couple. Apart from having a sizable team to operate their business, it is learnt that the coupe also often take the route of allegations and other manipulative resistance urging their female accomplices to scuffle with the cops to drag them into controversy.

It is learnt that Feroze has several offences including murder against him. It was fight for domination outside the railway premises that led to murder in which Feroze was likely involved. Unconfirmed sources said Feroze had grown close to some senior cops from Sitabuldi police during investigation of the murder in which he was booked. It After the murder case there was no action against him. Feroze had also been externed from city in 2009.

Rukhsar too has been booked in several offences which included assaults and threatening apart from cases made under Prohibition Act for selling liquor. It is learnt that the couple had once stormed into the Sitabuldi police station and assaulted a cop.

Senior divisional security commissioner, RPF, central railway, Ibrahim Sharif said the couple and their accomplices had been often caught and handed over to city police. "We have been co-ordinating with city police and trying to take action in turns. The couple had also made allegations against me before the court but it was not given much importance," said Sharif.

WITH A view 10 strengthen safety of passengers and check crimes against women in (rains and stations. Railways will soon launch a 24x7 helpline which will be tracked on realtime basis across the country.
The proposed pan India toll-free helpline, first-of-its- kind in Railways, is going to be launched shortly to provide round-the-clock security-related assistance to passengers, a senior Railway Ministry official involved with the project said. Passengers can use the helpline to report thefts, harassment or any other untoward incident, he said. Railways has sought a three-digit number for the proposed helpline from the Department of Telecommunication and all necessary preparations are being made for providing security assistance to passengers, he said.
The hardware and software for the helpline arc being provided by Centre For Railway Information Systems (CRIS). It will be managed by Railway Protection Force.

WR had told the High Court in April last year that it would start the train services from Virar to Dahanu by March 31 this year. However, till date, the services have not commenced. The assurance was given to the High Court during the hearing of a petition filed by Rajkumar Chorge, a corporator from Vasai and Virar Municipal Corporation. Chorge has now sent a legal notice to the Western Railways stating they have violated the order of the High Court wherein the court had taken on record the assurance given by the Railways.The notice states the WR should start EMU (electric multiple unit) services as per their assurance to the high court within 15 days of receiving the notice, failing which Chorge "shall be constrained to file contempt petition" in the High Court.The corporator had filed a public interest litigation in August 2011 seeking direction to the railways to start suburban services between Virar and Dahanu. Presently, direct trains ply only up to Virar, after which commuters have to take shuttle services which are insufficient.The Western Railways, in an affidavit dated April 19, 2012 told the High Court that conversion from DC to AC traction has been completed and whenever adequate rakes are made available, the existing services on Virar-Dahanu Road section will be converted into EMU services.The affidavit stated that the work in question would be completed during the course of financial year 2012-2013 following which High Court disposed of the PIL. According to Chorge, the plan to extend local trains till Dahanu was proposed way back in 2002 with the project was to be completed by 2007

हबीबगंज-इंदौर डबल डेकर ट्रेन शनिवार को ट्रायल पर इंदौर पहुंची। प्लेटफॉर्म पर यह तीन जगह शेड से टकराई। रेलवे अधिकारियों ने इसे सामान्य घटना बताते हुए ट्रायल को सफल घोषित कर दिया। ट्रेन सुबह करीब 6 बजे हबीबगंज स्टेशन से रवाना होकर 6.16 बजे भोपाल पहुंची। चार मिनट रुकने के बाद यह इंदौर के लिए रवाना हुई और सुबह 10.10 बजे (तय समय से आधा घंटा लेट) इंदौर पहुंची। ट्रायल रिपोर्ट अब जबलपुर और रतलाम मंडल के कमिश्नर रेलवे सेफ्टी (सीआरएस) और आरडीएसओ लखनऊ को भेजी जाएगी। इसके आधार पर ही रेल मंडल को ट्रेन चलाने की मंजूरी मिलेगी।      
हबीबगंज से वाया मक्सी व इंदौर से वाया उज्जैन होते हुए भोपाल आने-जाने के लिए ट्रेन का ट्रॉयल शनिवार सुबह 6 बजे शुरू हुआ। हबीबगंज के प्लेटफार्म नंबर 2 पर जैसे ही सिग्नल दिया गया डबल डेकर ट्रेन भोपाल की ओर रवाना हो गई। इसके बाद करीब 6.16 बजे डबल डेकर ट्रेन भोपाल रेलवे स्टेशन के प्लेटफार्म नंबर 3 पर पहुंच गई। यहां करीब 4 मिनट के हॉल्ट के बाद उसे इंदौर के लिए रवाना कर दिया गया। वाया मक्सी-देवास इस पहले ट्रॉयल में गाड़ी को चलाया गया। करीब सवा दस बजे डबल डेकर ट्रेन इंदौर के प्लेटफार्म नंबर 3 पर पहुंच गई।
हबीबगंज से इंदौर के बीच दो फेरों में चलाई जाने वाली डबल डेकर ट्रेन बाहर से ही नहीं अंदर से भी काफी आकर्षक व मन मोह लेने वाली है। इस ट्रेन के कोचों में सबसे बड़ी खासियत यह भी है कि इसके दुर्घटनाग्रस्त होने पर वे एक-दूसरे के ऊपर नहीं चढ़ेंगे। वहीं, हर मौसम के अनुरूप उसमें सीट का कपड़ा लगाया गया है। इसके अलावा टॉयलेट में दाड़ी बनाने, नहाने, लिक्विड सोप सहित कई सुविधाएं दी गई हैं।
हाई स्पीड: स्टेनलैस स्टील के होने के कारण इन कोचों को अधिकतम 160 किमी प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार से चलाया जाएगा। हालांकि हबीबगंज-इंदौर के बीच यह रफ्तार 110 से 130 रहने की संभावना है। इस गाड़ी को चलाने से पहले कमिश्नर रेलवे सेफ्टी चेतन बख्शी या उनके प्रतिनिधि भी टेस्टिंग के दौरान मौजूद रहेंगे।
न झटके न आग:
इस ट्रेन की सबसे बड़ी विशेषता यह भी है कि इसके सारे कोचों को पूरी तरह जर्क व स्मोक लैस टेक्नोलॉजी से बनाया गया है। इसके लिए मॉडर्न सस्पेंशन और स्मोक फ्री जोन बनाए गए हैं।
बाद में बढ़ सकती है स्पीड
डबल डेकर ट्रेन हबीबगंज से सुबह 6 बजे चलकर 9.40 बजे इंदौर पहुंचेगी। इस प्रकार यह 3 घंटे 40 मिनट का समय लेगी। वहीं, वर्तमान में आईएसबीटी से चलाई जा रही वॉल्वो बसें साढ़े तीन घंटे में इंदौर पहुंच रही हैं। जबकि, इंदौर हबीबगंज इंटरसिटी 4 घंटे का समय लेती है। इस बारे में रेल अधिकारियों का कहना है कि मक्सी से देवास के बीच के ट्रैक में सुधार होने के बाद इसकी स्पीड बढ़ सकती है।
रेलवे बोर्ड से निर्धारित टाइमटेबल के अनुसार ही रनिंग टाइम निर्धारित किया जाता है। फिलहाल इस ट्रेन का हबीबगंज से इंदौर
तक का रनिंग टाइम 3 घंटे 40 मिनट रखा गया है।

डबल डेकर ट्रेन को जब शुरू करने की घोषणा की गई थी, उस वक्त उसके स्टॉपेज भोपाल, शुजालपुर व देवास रखे गए थे। अब स्टॉपेज में सीहोर और मक्सी का नाम भी जुड़ गया है। एक स्टॉपेज पर ट्रेन को
कम से कम 10 से 12 मिनट का अतिरिक्तसमय लगता है। इस तरह दो स्टॉपेज बढ़ने से करीब 25 मिनट का समय बढ़ गया।

भोपाल। भोपाल रेलवे स्टेशन पर बनाए गए छठवें प्लेटफार्म के उद्घाटन की तैयारियों का जायजा रविवार को दोपहर में डीआरएम राजीव चौधरी ने लिया। इस दौरान सीनियर डीसीएम मंदीप सिंह भाटिया सहित रेल मंडल के अधिकारी मौजूद थे।


डीआरएम ने इस दौरान रेल मंत्री पवन बंसल के आगमन के लिए रूट तय किया और भोपाल से हबीबगंज के बीच ट्रैक के क्लीयरेंस के प्वाइंट देखे। उन्होंने अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए कि रेल मंत्री के आगमन के दौरान कोई समस्या न हो, इसलिए रिहर्सल कर देख लें। इसके बाद छह नंबर प्लेटफार्म पर टेंट लगाने सहित अन्य कार्य शुरू कर दिए गए।



बताया जाता है कि 17 अप्रैल को रेल मंत्री श्री बंसल यहां आकर मेमू ट्रेन और छह नंबर प्लेटफार्म का उद्घाटन करेंगे। यदि कमिश्नर रेलवे सेफ्टी और आरडीएसओ से रिपोर्ट आ गई तो डबल डेकर ट्रेन भी रेल मंत्री शुरू कर सकते हैं।
