The City Corporation will on Friday inform the State government of its willingness to supply around 3,000 tonnes of garbage to be used in the construction of a platform at Kadakkavoor railway station.Mayor K. Chandrika will write to Urban Affairs Minister Manjalamkuzhi Ali informing the Corporation’s preparedness in supplying 3,000 tonnes of garbage, including waste accumulated on roadsides after the closure of the Vilappilsala garbage treatment plant.Two days ago, Mr. Ali wrote to the Mayor seeking clarification on the quantity of garbage that the civic body would be able to provide for constructing the platform, V.S. Padmakumar, chairman, Works standing committee, said.Immediately after the project was conceived following deliberations with Southern Railway, the Corporation had approached the Suchitwa Mission seeking funds to construct the 540-metre long, 0.84-metre high and 6.5-metre wide platform, he said. |

जागरण संवाददाता, लखनऊ : उत्तर रेलवे लखनऊ मंडल के निलंबित मुख्य टिकट निरीक्षक एके बाली एक्सेस फेयर टिकट (ईएफटी) की जीराक्स कॉपी करवाकर यात्रियों से जुर्माना महीनों से वसूल रहे थे। इनमें से वसूला गया पचास फीसद राजस्व बाली के बैंक खाते में जाता था और बचा हुआ पैसा रेलवे के राजस्व में। कानपुर से लखनऊ आई जीआरपी टीम ने स्टेशन पर सुपरवाइजरों से पूछताछ की। टीम ने मंडल के वरिष्ठ वाणिज्य अधिकारियों को भी पूरे मामले से अवगत कराया। 1गुरुवार को कानपुर से लखनऊ पहुंची टीम के मुताबिक मुख्य टिकट निरीक्षक पद पर तैनात रहे एके बाली के कारनामे के बारे में मुंबई की विजिलेंस टीम को उस वक्त पता लगा था जब कुछ यात्रियों के पास से ईएफटी की जीराक्स कॉपी मिली थी। मुंबई के टिकट कलेक्टर द्वारा जमा की गई इन रसीदों की जब जांच की गई तो मामले का खुलासा हुआ। मुंबई के अधिकारियों ने विजिलेंस इंस्पेक्टर आरआर करुर के नेतृत्व में एक टीम गठित की। टीम ने झांसी तक यात्रियों की जांच की। जांच में फिर कई यात्रियों के पास ईएफटी की जीराक्स कॉपी मिली। सभी टीटीई की ईएफटी रसीद जांची गई। ट्रेन में चल रहे किसी भी टीटीई के पास कोई जीराक्स कॉपी नहीं मिली। टीम ने लखनऊ में टारगेट किया तो मामले का खुलासा हुआ। 1कैसे फंसे एके बाली : मुंबई से आई विजिलेंस टीम ने अपने आरपीएफ सिपाही को लखनऊ से मुंबई का एक जनरल टिकट खरीदवाया। फिर संदेह के आधार पर उत्तर रेलवे लखनऊ मंडल के मुख्य टिकट निरीक्षक से चलती हुई ट्रेन में स्लीपर का टिकट बनाने को कहा। बाली ने आंख मूंदकर ईएफटी की जीराक्स कॉपी निकालकर रसीद काट दी, जबकि मूल रसीद को छुआ तक नहीं। टीम ने रसीद अपने कब्जे में लेकर तुरंत जांच की तो मामला पूरा फर्जी निकला। जांच में बाली के पास से हजारों रुपये भी बरामद हुए। |

Chandigarh : Around 500 passengers from the region on board the Bharat Darshan train of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) had a harrowing time during the six-day journey to Shirdi from July 13 to 18, as they had to travel in unhygienic conditions and erratic electricity on the coaches.They alleged coaches had no electricity when the train halted at a destination. The washrooms were not cleaned during the journey. When the pilgrims reached Shirdi, the food served by the IRCTC staff was not hot.The passengers complained they had repeatedly requested the officials concerned to make proper power and food arrangements and get the washrooms cleaned, but in vain.The IRCTC chief regional manager, RK Sondh, admitted that there was an electricity problem on the train as the batteries installed on these old coaches had poor backup. He said the authorities got those batteries replaced whenever the train halted. He has not received any complaint about the food but if any passenger comes with one, he will look into it and take necessary action, he added.A passenger, KR Dewan, said they had not received proper services on the train despite paying Rs 2,825 per member for the journey. He said they had to lodge their protest against poor services time and again but no action was taken by the officials to solve their problem. |

General Manager (GM) of South Eastern Railway Zone, GC Agarwal, who was in Ranchi on Friday informed that much awaited Ranchi-Tori Railway Line would be completed by December 2014.Earlier, as per the media report the line was to be opened and commissioned this year itself. The GM however said that the Railway had never announced the dateline earlier. “We have got to build two railway bridges before to complete the railway line. Maoists used to disturb our construction efforts when we tried to make the infrastructure. But now the DGP has assured us to set up police station in the area. This would help us in taking the infrastructure project at much faster rate now,” the GM said.The GM also directed the local railway officials to add an extra railway coach in the train that ply in Ranchi- Lohardagga railway line for elderly and women. On many of the media queries the GM refrained from giving direct answers saying he was new to the area and therefore he had not much idea about the region. |

BEML has surged 5% to Rs 181 on NSE after the state-owned company said it has received a new order worth of Rs 747 crore from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRCL).“The order is for manufacture and supply of 92 sets of standard gauge metro cars for the phase III, RS-9 project of DMRCL,” BEML said in a release.This order will boost the present order book position of BEML to Rs 6,400 crore, it added.The stock opened at Rs 176 and saw a combined around 80,000 shares changing hands on the counter in early morning deals on NSE and BSE. |

Noida Authority has demanded the terms of reference from DMRC for construction, technical and other operational work.
