Imphal : For construction of the new BG Railway line from Jiribam to Tupul, the State Revenue department has issued a notification for acquisition of 8.64 acre of land in Khongsang village of Tamenglong district.Issuing a notification in this regard, S.Sunderlal Singh, Commissioner (Rev), Govt. of Manipur, has informed that the Sub- Divisional Officer, Sub- Deputy Collector concerned and staff under their control have also been authorised to take steps under the provision of section 4 (2) read with section 5 of the land Acquisition Act, 1894 and to submit report to the collector (LA), Tamenglong. |

BHUBANESWAR: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday cleared the railway station of stray dogs, which were causing serious trouble to passengers during the rush hour. The East Coast railway (ECoR) officials requested the civic body, following TOI's report on the canine menace at the railway station earlier this month. About 25 stray dogs were taken away from the platforms. The railway officials said they coordinated with the BMC for curbing the dog menace. "In the first phase, the civic body took away nearly 50% of the stray dogs. In the next phase, we hope, the dog menace will be completely checked," said ECoR chief public relations officer J P Mishra. "We will continue to take up the matter with the BMC and launch a special drive jointly so that not a single dog is seen on the platform," he said. |

पलपल इंडिया संवाददाता, जबलपुर. यूं तो भारतीय रेलवे यात्रियों को बेहतर सुविधाएं देने के नाम पर कई मदों में पैसा लेता है लेकिन सुविधाएं देने में उसकी कोई रुचि नहीं है. कमोवेश पश्चिम मध्य रेल मुख्यालय के स्टेशन जबलपुर से छूटने वाली ट्रेनों में यात्री सुविधाएं नदारत रहती हैं. बुधवार को वेरावल एक्सप्रेस प्लेटफार्म नंबर 4 से छूटने को तैयार थी इसी बीच एसी कोच के यात्रियों ने गंदी बदबूदार चादर और तकिए मिलने पर हंगामा खड़ा कर दिया. दूसरी ओर स्लीपर कोच के यात्रियों ने भी बोगी और टॉयलेट की सफाई न होने पर अधिकारियों को खरीखोटी सुनाई. |

The newly constituted Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (DRUCC) met at Railway Divisional Office, Palakkad, on Tuesday.Divisional Railway Manager, Palakkad, Piyush Agarwal, who is also the DRUCC chairman, presided over the meeting.He urged the members to help Railways in improving passenger amenities. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager P.A. Dhananjayan spoke about the railway division. Additional Divisional Railway Manager Mohan A. Menon and senior officials attended the meeting. At the meeting, K.N. Ganesan, representing the Tirur Chamber of Commerce, was elected as a representative to the Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committee functioning at the Southern Railway Headquarters. |

Southern Railway released the suburban train timetable earlier this month, for the benefit of commuters travelling by EMUs.The 139-page timetable book costing Rs. 5 is available at all major suburban stations. “Commuters can contact the booking office for a copy of the timetable,” said a railway official.Timings of trains to and from Chennai Beach, Central, Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Arakonnam and Tirumalpur stations, among others are detailed. The book also has MRTS train timings and details of fares for each trip.Besides, the book also guides commuters on lodging a complaint and provides numbers of vigilance officers. |
