रैपिड मेट्रो का हाइस्पीड ट्रायल अब तक पूरा नहीं हो सका है। ऐसे में सितंबर से पहले यह ट्रेन पटरी पर नहीं दौड़ेगी। प्रबंधन मार्च से अब तक चार बार अपनी डेटलाइन बढ़ा चुका है। हालांकि हाइस्पीड ट्रायल के लिए रेल मंत्रालय मंजूरी तो दे चुका है, लेकिन मंत्रालय की ओर से अब तक कोई अधिकारी नहीं आया है।
2 अक्टूबर 2012 में प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री भूपेंद्र सिंह हुडा और सांसद राव इंद्रजीत सिंह की मौजूदगी में जब इसका ट्रायल शुरू हुआ था तो लोगों ने उम्मीद लगाई थी कि अगले साल मार्च तक रैपिड मेट्रो की सेवा मिलने लगेगी। उस समय रैपिड मेट्रो प्रबंधन ने दूसरे चरण में गोल्फ क्लब तक रैपिड मेट्रो के लिए निर्माण कार्य के लिए शिलान्यास भी किया, लेकिन रैपिड मेट्रो का ट्रायल पूरा नहीं हुआ।
रैपिड मेट्रो के परिचालन के लिए मार्च माह में प्रोजेक्ट रिपोर्ट दी गई थी, जिसे पदाधिकारियों ने स्वीकार किया था। रैपिड मेट्रो रेल के उपाध्यक्ष ने लिखित रूप में जवाब दिया था कि अप्रैल में रैपिड मेट्रो का व्यवसायिक परिचालन शुरू हो जाएगा। इसके बाद रैपिड मेट्रो के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी ने मई में रैपिड मेट्रो को ट्रैक पर उतारने की बात स्वीकारी थी, लेकिन जून बीत गया और जुलाई भी समाप्ति के कगार पर है।
रेल विभाग के अधिकारी हाइस्पीड ट्रायल के लिए मौका मुआयना कर चुके हैं, लेकिन आरडीएसओ की टीम अगले सप्ताह आएगी। हाइस्पीड ट्रायल में तीन से चार सप्ताह का समय लग सकता हैं। इसके बाद अधिकारी अपना प्रमाण पत्र देंगे और फिर सेफ्टी कमिश्नर को निमंत्रित किया जाएगा। सेफ्टी कमिश्नर की अनुमति के बाद ही रैपिड मेट्रो की सेवा शुरू होगी। कोशिश होगी कि सितंबर तक रैपिड मेट्रो अपनी सेवा देना शुरू कर दे।

नई दिल्ली : रेलवे बोर्ड में सदस्य के तौर पर नियुक्ति कराने के नाम पर 10 करोड़ रुपये की रिश्वत मांगने के मामले में पूर्व रेलवे मंत्री पवन बंसल के भांजे विजय सिंगला समेत नौ आरोपियों की न्यायिक हिरासत की अवधि 6 अगस्त तक बढ़ा दी गई है। न्यायिक हिरासत की अवधि समाप्त होने पर बुधवार को उन्हें पटियाला हाउस कोर्ट की विशेष जज स्वर्ण कांता शर्मा की अदालत में पेश किया गया था।
उल्लेखनीय है कि सीबीआइ ने दो जुलाई को दायर आरोप पत्र में रेलवे बोर्ड के पूर्व सदस्य महेशकुमार, पूर्व रेलवे मंत्री पवन बंसल के भाजे विजय सिंगला व आठ अन्य को आरोपी बनाया था। अदालत ने 4 जुलाई को आरोप पत्र पर संज्ञान ले लिया था। सीबीआइ का आरोप है कि सिंगला ने रेलवे बोर्ड के पूर्व सदस्य महेश से दस करोड़ रुपये माँगे थे ताकि उसको सदस्य(इलैक्ट्रिकल) नियुक्त किया जा सके। रिश्वत की किस्त के तौर पर तीन मई को सिंगला ने 90 लाख रुपये लिए थे। सीबीआइ ने चंडीगढ़ से आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार कर रुपये बरामद किए थे।

Born o­n 15th January, 1955 at Kanpur, Shri D.P. Pande did his MA in Modern History from Allahabad University. An Officer of Indian Railways Traffic Service (IRTS) of 1976 batch, Shri D.P. Pande has rich and varied experience in Operations and Commercial branches and has held several important executive and managerial posts o­n Indian Railways.

Shri D.P. Pande has handled several key posts in Railway Board including as Executive Director/Traffic Transportation (Movement), Advisor (Marketing & Logistics), Advisor/Traffic Transportation (Movement), Executive Director/Planning and Additional Member (Traffic). During his tenure as Executive Director/Planning, Shri D.P. Pande dealt with subjects pertaining to Five Year Plans, Corporate Plans, Annual Plans and formulation of Budget of Indian Railways etc.

Shri D.P. Pande also held various other posts including as Dy. Chief Operations Manager, Chief Passenger Traffic Manager and Chief Freight Traffic Manager in Northern Railway and Divisional Railway Manager, Bhopal Division.

Southern Railway has made the following changes in train services due to line block between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Wednesday in connection with engineering work between Thiruvennainallur and Parikkal in Vriddhachalam – Villupuram section.

A statement said that Train No.56706 Madurai-Villupuram passenger will run upto Vriddhachalam only. Similarly, Train No.56705 Villupuram- Madurai passenger would be started from Vriddhachalam.

Train No.12635 Chennai Egmore-Madurai Vaigai Express scheduled to leave Chennai Egmore at 1.20 p.m. would leave at 2.20 p.m.

As there is line block between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Wednesday

The medical department of Tiruchi Railway Division has taken over three more stations falling within the division for maintenance of cleanliness on the station premises and its adjoining areas.A comprehensive cleaning mechanism would be put into place in each of the three stations – Puducherry, Nagapattinam, and Ariyalur - consequent to the takeover by the medical department.The complete cleaning work would be outsourced after calling for tenders and finalising private agencies for the three stations which come under the “B” category.Though cleaning and maintenance at the three stations on a day-to-day basis would be done by private agencies using machines and other kits, the medical department would supervise the entire work.

Manual work

For the time being, manual cleaning is being done at the three stations by engaging private parties.Under the comprehensive cleaning package, cleaning would be done on the platforms, tracks, concourse area, approach road leading to the station, and service buildings that include waiting room, retiring room,and station master’s room, railway officials here told The Hindu .

At present, cleanliness of seven stations falling within the division — Tiruchi, Thanjavur, Vriddhachalam, Villupuram, Kumbakonam, Mayiladuthurai and Tiruvarur — are being maintained by the medical department through outsourcing.

Tiruchi, Thanjavur, Kumbakonam and Mayiladuthurai fall under the “A” category station; Vriddhachalam and Villupuram have been categorised as “B” while Tiruvarur is an ‘Adarsh’ station.

“We will be introducing mechanised cleaning on a daily basis in Nagapattinam, Ariyalur and Puducherry to keep the station premises clean,” said a senior railway officer here.

According priority to cleanliness as well, the Railways would spend Rs. 70 lakh for maintenance of cleanliness for a two–year period for Puducherry, Rs. 66 lakh for Ariyalur, and Rs. 67 lakh for Nagapattinam for the same period.

Cleanliness work at Tiruchi junction, a major station in the division, was taken over by the medical department in 2004.

Subsequently, it took over cleanliness work in other “A” and “B” category stations in the division, which bagged the overall medical efficiency shield during 2012-13 fiscal.

Southern Railway has announced changes in train services because of line block in connection with engineering works to be taken up between Thiruvennainallur and Parikkal in the Vriddhachalam – Villupuram section on July 24.

The works would be carried out from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Trains partially cancelled: The Madurai-Villupuram Passenger (56706) will run up to Vriddhachalam only on July 24. Train No. 56705

The Villupuram–Madurai Passenger (56705) will leave from Vriddhachalam on July 24.

Trains diverted: The Tiruchi – Chennai Egmore Pallavan Express (12606) will be diverted from Vriddhachalam via Cuddalore Port and will arrive 50 minutes late at Villupuram.

The Madurai – Chennai Egmore Vaigai Express (12636) will be diverted from Vriddhachalam via Cuddalore Port and will arrive 40 minutes late at Villupuram railway station.

The Chennai Egmore – Guruvayur Express (16127) will be diverted from Villupuram via Cuddalore Port and Vriddhachalam.

Delayed Departure: The Chennai Egmore – Madurai Vaigai Express (12635) scheduled to leave Chennai Egmore at 1.20 p.m. on July 24 will leave at 2.20 p.m., according to a Southern Railway press release here.
