१९ जुलैचा तो दिवस.. मुसळधार पाऊस सुरू होता, नदी-नाले तुडुंब भरून वाहत होते. सिंदीनजीक रेल्वे रूळाखालील गिट्टी व माती पूर्णत: वाहून गेली. रूळ तरंगत होते.. हे दृश्य अंधारात मोबाईलच्या प्रकाशात रेल्वेरूळाचाच रस्ता धरत घर गाठणार्‍या निलेश ढोबळे नामक तरुणाने बघितले आणि त्याच्या काळजाचा थरकाप उडाला.
अपलाईनवर अहमदाबाद एक्स्प्रेस व डाऊन लाईनवर पटना एक्स्प्रेस या दोन्ही गाड्यांना ग्रीन सिग्नल होता. प्रसंगावधान राखत त्याने क्षणाचाही विलंब न लावता रेल्वेच्या कर्मचार्‍यांना याबाबत माहिती दिली. तत्काळ दोन्ही बाजूच्या रेल्वेस्थानकांवर सूचना पोहोचली आणि गाड्या जागच्या जागी थंबविण्यात आल्या. मोठा अनर्थ टळला. ज्याने शेकडो प्रवाशांचा जीव वाचविला तो नीलेश पडद्यामागचा हिरो ठरला आहे. रेल्वे प्रशासनाकडून त्याला कौतुकाची थाप मिळाली नसली तरी आपण देशासाठी काही करू शकलो, याचे समाधान त्याला सुखावून जाते.
रूळाखालील माती, गिट्टी वाहून जाण्याच्या काही वेळेपूर्वी अप मार्गावरून दक्षिण एक्स्प्रेस व डाऊन मार्गावरून अमरावती-नागपूर लोकल गेली होती. लोकलमधून नीलेश रामभाऊ ढोबळे रा. पिपरा हा युवक सिंदी रेल्वेस्थानकावर उतरला.

Four hours night block will be carried out from 23.55 hrs to 03.55 hrs in the night falling between 27th/28th July, 2013 o­n Up Through (i.e. fast) & fifth line between Mahim Jn. and Mumbai Central for maintenance of track, signalling and overhead equipments. During the block, all Up through line trains will be run o­n Up local (i.e. slow) lines between Santacruz and Mumbai Central.

Detailed information to this effect is available with concerned Station Masters. Passengers are requested to take note of the above arrangements.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: MB Rajesh MP flagged off of regular service of the Palakkadjunction-Ernakulam junction MEMU passenger (Train No. 66611) on Friday morning at a function held at the Palakkad junction station.

The MEMU will leave Palakkad junction at 8.45am and will reach Ernakulam junction at 12.55pm. The ErnakulamJunction-Palakkad junction MEMU passenger (Train No 66612) will leave from Ernakulam junction at 3.10pm and will reach Palakkad junction at 7.25pm. This train will stop at all stations between Palakkad junction and Ernakulam junction. However, the train will not touch Shoranur junction. The MEMU train will run six days a week, barring Tuesday.

Shafi Parambil MLA, Palakkad municipality chairman Haji A Abdul Kudhoos and district panchayat president Kandamuthan were present during the flagging off of the MEMU service. Palakkad divisional railway manager (DRM) Piyush Agarwal, additional divisional railway manager (ADRM) Mohan A Menon, railway officers and employees participated in the function.

Later in a news conference, the DRM informed that Palakkad junction station is going to get two lifts and one escalator. He also told that four touch screens will be installed in Palakkad junction, which will be useful to the passengers to know the reservation and train running details. He added that platform shelter on platforms 3 and 4 towards Kanjikode side will be extended.

The High Power Committee (HPC) on Lucknow Metro Rail gave its nod to start work on the Amausi-Munshipulia stretch in the first phase of the project.

At the same time, it asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to immediately commence the techno-feasibility study on the 42-kilometer alternative corridor for the ring metro line including the Gomti Nagar link, Tulsi Das Marg, Subhash Marg and Mill Road.

Work on the first phase would start with the construction of a depot that would come up on 50 acres of 32nd PAC Battalion land near Amausi Airport on Kanpur Road.

The deadline for completion of this phase (North-South corridor) is March 2018 while the second phase (East-West corridor) would be over by March 2019, according to the HPC.

A panel comprising principal secretaries of the departments concerned has been constituted to carry out the necessary physical survey of the proposed depot site and submit its findings within 15 days.

Likewise, another panel under principal secretary, finance, has been asked by chief secretary Jawed Usmani to vet the memorandum of articles and association proposed for the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) and give its opinion within 15 days.

The chief secretary presided over the HPC.

“These are necessary procedural formalities that have to be followed. We have collected all basic information and completed paper work related to the formation of the SPV,” said an official, who attended the meeting.

DMRC general manager (consultancy service) Arun Kumar Singh gave a presentation of the revised blueprint of the metro project to the committee.

A sub-panel headed by secretary, housing and chairman of the Lucknow Metro Cell, Rajeev Aggarwal presented a report to the HPC on generating funds from additional resources for the project.

While agreeing in principle with the measures suggested by the panel, the HPC referred the matter to the departments concerned to give their opinion on whether the same could be implemented without any legal hassles.

For the first time, a member of the North-Eastern Railway was also invited to the meeting, which among others was attended by principal secretaries of housing, Sadakant, home, RM Srivastava, finance, Anand Mishra, planning Sanjiv Mittal, transport, BS Bhullar and several other senior officials.

ट्रेनों की अपडेट जानकारी के लिए राजधानी के लोगों को स्टेशन के इंक्वायरी काउंटर पर जूझने की जरूरत नहीं होगी। घर में टीवी पर ही उनको सभी ट्रेनों की पूरी स्थिति का पता चल जाएगा। इसके लिए रायपुर रेल मंडल के वाणिज्य विभाग की ओर से पहल की जा रही है।
रायपुर स्टेशन के विभिन्न प्लेटफार्मों पर ट्रेनों की ताजा जानकारी के लिए 21 एलसीडी लगाए गए हैं। इस एलसीडी पर ट्रेनों की समय-सारणी को सीधे शहर के केबल से जोड़ने की कोशिश की जा रही है। बिलासपुर और नागपुर में यह प्रयोग काफी सफल रहा है। कोशिश की जा रही है कि दो महीने के अंदर यह सुविधा रायपुर में भी शुरू कर दी जाए।
केबल से हजारों घरों के टीवी सेट जुड़े हुए हैं। ऐसे में शहर के लोगों के लिए रेलवे की इस नई सुविधा से विशेष फायदा होगा। रेलवे के इंक्वायरी सिस्टम पर दबाव भी कम होगा। ट्रेनों की रनिंग स्थिति बताने इंटरनेट व एसएमएस सिस्टम रेलवे पहले से ही चला रहा है। एसएमएस के लिए प्रति मैसेज 3 रुपए खर्च करने होते हैं। केबल के माध्यम से टीवी पर सीधे और सरल तरीके से ट्रेनों की जानकारी लोगों को मिलने लगेगी।

New Delhi: Claiming innocence in the railgate scam, former Union Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said on Friday that he became a victim of a conspiracy hatched by the rail bureaucracy and the Opposition.

Speaking exclusively to Zee Media, Bansal said, “Neither me nor my family has anything to do with the controversy.”

“I have become a victim of a conspiracy hatched by the Opposition and the rail bureaucracy as I had detected several anomalies in procedures for railway appointments,” he added.

Defending self, the Congress MP from Chandigarh said, “I was linked to as many as 105 companies when my name figured in the scam. People have tendency to jump to conclusion without waiting for the judicial process or judgements.”

"There were several discrepancies in procedures relating to senior-level appointments in the railways, which I had set out to reform. However, I was myself sucked into the vortex of this conspiracy," Bansal said during the exclusive interview.

Bansal also countered claims made by former Railway board chairman Vinay Mittal to the CBI that he as minister had paid no need to suggestions to start the process for appointing a general manager for the Western Railways.

The CBI has named Bansal as a prosecution witness in the cash-for-promotion scam involving his nephew Vijay Singla and former railway board member Mahesh Kumar.

"The file relating to Kumar's appointment as member (staff) was approved and signed by me on April 18 and forwarded for ACC (Appointments Committee of Cabinet) approval the same day,” he said.

“Following the receipt of the ACC approval on May 1, Kumar took charge on May 2. The next day, the CBI raids happened. So, where was the time for Mittal to repeatedly remind me about the need to fill the post of GM, Western Railways," Bansal said.

"Another officer could not have been appointed as GM before his (Kumar's) appointment as member (staff)," the former minister pointed out, adding, "No specific orders had been issued by him to enable Kumar to 'look after' the charge as GM, Western Railways."

Bansal stressed that baseless allegations were levelled against him including that he had invested crores of rupees in a company owned by his son.

“I have only invested Rs 15 lakhs in my son’s firm and that’s all,” he stated.

The Congress leader reiterated that he had full faith in the country’s judicial system and that he is confident that he will come out clean.

After his unceremonious exit from Rail Bhawan, Bansal is spending most his time in Chandigarh and has maintained a low profile.

The soft-spoken leader, however, said that he will continue the work assigned to him by his party and carry out his duties as MP from Chandigarh till his named is cleared.

भोपाल। रेल यात्री यदि एजेंट्स के माध्यम से ई-टिकट बुक करवाएं तो सावधानी बरत कर असुविधा से बचें। रेलवे प्रशासन ने एजेंट्स का प्रमाण-पत्र चेक करने और गड़बड़ होने पर उनकी शिकायत की व्यवस्था भी कर दी है। इसके लिए आईआरसीटीसी की वेबसाइट www.irctc..in पर उसके आफिस, फोटो, पहचान पत्र आदि की जांच की जा सकती है।

रेलवे प्रशासन ने यात्रियों से कहा है कि वे ई-टिकट बनवाते वक्त अपना मोबाइल नंबर जरूर दर्ज करें, जिससे एसएमएस के माध्यम से बुकिंग करते वक्त ही किराए, सर्विस चार्ज आदि की जानकारी मिल जाए। टिकट बनते ही यात्रा संबंधी जानकारी का एसएमएस भी यात्री को मिलता है, जिसका उपयोग वह टिकट के रूप में कर सकता है। इसके बाद प्रिंटेड टिकट रखने की जरूरत यात्री को नहीं पड़ती।

ज्यादा पैसा न दें: यात्रियों को चाहिए कि वे एजेंट को केवल एसएमएस में दिए गए किराए का ही भुगतान करें। यदि वह उससे ज्यादा पैसा मांगे तो उसके खिलाफ शिकायत करें। यदि टिकट का प्रिंट आउट कोई यात्री एजेंट से ले तो उस पर उसका नाम, पता, फोन नंबर आदि छपा हुआ होना चाहिए। यदि ऐसा नहीं है तो एजेंट से उसका कारण पूछें।

यहां करें शिकायत: यदि एजेंट कोई समस्या पैदा करे तो उसकी शिकायत ई-मेल पर करें। इसके अलावा दिल्ली स्थित आईआरसीटीसी के कार्पोरेट आफिस के नंबरों 011-2375962 और 011-39340000 पर भी शिकायत दर्ज कर सकते हैं।

GUJARAT: Ahmedabad metro rail will be driverless and broad gauge project, said a top expert involved in the project. The broad gauge will result in savings of Rs 1,000 crore in capital expenditure and Rs 20 crore annually in operational expenditure. A Design Advisory Committee for the project has given a go ahead after considering pros and cons versus the standard metrog uage.

"Metro Expresslink for Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad (MEGA), the company in charge of the project, has zeroed in on Broad Gauge on the basis of recommendations of members ofDAC and their report submitted earlier to the State Government. In the last Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), the report by the Gauge Committee was discussed and it was decided to do further study in detail to arrive at more informed decision," said an official of MEGA.

France-based metro rail consultants M/s Egis Rail has been appointed by MEGA to undertake a comparitive Cost Benefit Analysis of Broad Guage (BG) and Standard Guage. The findings of its report were placed before the DAC and all the members unanimously accepted it.

The report claimed that there will be cost saving on infrastructure and system, rolling stock and also on operation and maintenance on ongoing basis. By selecting BG there will cost saving on civil cost of stations by around 15%, on viaducts by around 2% and on depot by around 7%. The higher capacity of wider coaches of BG will reduce the requirement of the number of coaches and MEGA will save around 11% on rolling stock.

The total cost benefit for rolling stock and infrastructure and system in capital cost will be more than Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 20 crore per year in operation and Maintenance. Core infrastructure works will begin in fourth quarter of year 2013 and Phase I is scheduled to be completed by August, 2017. The entire project including Phase II will be fully operational in March 2021.

MEGA metro rail project will see adoption of latest technology, cutting edge civil infrastructure, and futuristic control mechanism. It will be India's first driverless metro system, resulting in low operations & maintenance cost, increased frequency and safety.

The DAC comprises of M Ravindra, Ex. Chairman Railway Board and Ex officio secretary to the Government of India, Sudesh Kumar, Member of Electrical Railway Board and Ex-officiosecretary to Government of India; R P Agarwal, Director (Technical) with IRWO and former commissioner of Railway Safety; K K Agarwal, former Member (Traffic) of The Railway Board and Ex-Officio Secretary to GoI; N K Goel, former Executive Director Railway Board.
