आइआरसीटीसी का इसके पीछे उद्देश्य यात्रियों को सुखद अनुभव देना है | खानपान की शिकायतों से खराब होती छवि को सुधारने के लिए रेलवे हर दो घंटे पर ताजे भोजन की आपूर्ति करने की तैयारी में भी जुटा है।

‘Menu on Rail app’ will be launched by national transporter next month. Through this app the national transporter wants to provide better quality of food to its passengers. This app will allow passengers to order food of their choice on a running train. However, availability of food choices will depend on train category namely Humsafar Express, Mail/Express trains, Tejas Express, Shatabadi, Rajdhani or Duronto Express.

A passenger has to choose its train category first, before placing a food order. Along with food items, the app will also display their prices.

"Do not risk your lives" - said IRCTC to its passengers in a post on twitter. This is the warning line by IRCTC to passengers who often purchase foods from unauthorised food vendors while travelling on train. IRCTC has also named 11 unauthorised food suppliers on twitter which are -

A successful trial was completed by the Railway Safety Board on the 16 km broad gauge section from Amb-Andaura to Daulatpur Chowk in Una district. Chief Commissioner of Ralways Safety Board has also issued certificate of safety for this track and now passenger trains can be run on this route.

It must be noted that Daultpur Chowk is the last station in Himanchal Pradesh. Besides the completion of this 16km broad gauge railway track, work on thhe 83.7 km long Nangal - Talwara broad gauge line is still in progress.

Indian Railways has replaced another set of ICF coaches with LHB coaches in Express train that runs between Bhubaneswar and and Bengaluru cant. LHB coaches will make this train safe to travel besides providing more comfort to passengers.

Train number 12845 / 12846 Bhubaneswar - Bengaluru Cant. - Bhubaneswar Super Fast Express will run with LHB coaches from April 17 onwards.
