South Western Railway has decided to attach 02 additional General Second Class Chair Cars permanentlybyTrain Nos. 16557/16558 BANGALORE CITY-MYSORE-BANGALORE CITY RAJYA RANI EXPRESS with immediate effect.
The revised composition is total : 20 coaches (instead of 18 coaches), consisting of One AC Chair Car, Seventeen General Second Class (sitting) Cars & o­ne General Second Classluggage-cum-disabled coach.

With an aim to provide better Passenger Amenities for the convenience of passengers, Railways have provided additional stoppage of Bhubaneswar-Jagadalpur-Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express and Bhubaneswar-Bhawanipatna-Bhubaneswar Express at Bhusandpur with effect from 1st August 2013 o­n an experimental basis for a period of six months.
18447 Bhubaneswar-Jagadalpur Hirakhand Express and 18437 Bhubaneswar-Bhawanipatna Express will arrive at Bhusandpur at 2036hrs and will leave at 2038hrs towards their destinations. 
In the return direction, 18448 Jagadalpur-Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express and 18438 Bhawanipatna-Bhubaneswar Express will arrive at Bhusandpur at 0720hrs & will leave at 0722hrs towards Bhubaneswar.
Passengers at Khurda Road and Nirakarpur are requested to take note of the changed timings.

East Central Railway Income Growth by 15 percent

DALTONGANJ: Frequent clashes between Maoists and security forces in and around Kumandi railway station, have instilled a sense of fear in the railway personnel working here. It comes under the Coal India Chord (CIC) section of Dhanbad railway division.SP Latehar Michael S Raj said, "For the Maoists, the existence of the Kumandi railway station is linked to their activity as all logistical support reaches them from the tracks. I do not see any reason as to why the Maoists will damage or destroy this railway station. That would be foolhardiness on their part."However, AK Mishra, assistant divisional engineer-cum-area officer of the railways, said, "We live and work at the mercy of God. It's a tough life. You never know when there is a clash between the rebels and the security forces. We live in the constant fear of being caught in the crossfire."Echoing similar sentiments, Santosh Tiwari, vice president of the East Central Railway Karamchari Union, said, "The railway personnel here are deprived of proper facilities, unlike their counterparts in the North Frontier Zone, which offers a bag of wherewithal and job security."

During massive anti-Maoist operations in the months of June and July codified as Jaal 4 in Kumandi, the security forces had set up some makeshift posts on the rooftop of the quarters of the railway men working at Kumandi railway station. The railway men were not too happy with such an arrangement.

Michael S Raj had then said, "These are temporary structures built with some bricks and sandbags. If it is a real eyesore to the railway men, they are free to dismantle it without any fear. The fact is that the increased presence of security forces has boosted the confidence of railway men in the area."

However, railway gangman Santosh Kumar said, he was harassed by security forces for no apparent reason. Braving all odds, he continues to live in Kumandi railway station. There are some who commute from Red-hit Latehar to Kumandi, covering a distance of 23 kms by train everyday. They'd rather take the trouble to commute for work than live a life of fear and insecurity in Kumandi.

Santosh Tiwari has urged for better and safe working conditions for railway men working at stations like Chipadohar, Hehegara, Demu, Richughutta, etc. Night duties at these railway stations are fraught with danger. He added that railway officials here do not live with their families as they do not want to jeopardize their lives.

कोल्हापूर शहरात असलेले रेल्वे स्थानक आता छोटे पडू लागले आहे. दिवसेंदिवस वाढणारी वाहतूक आणि आवश्यक सुविधांना जागा कमी पडत असल्याने विस्तार करणे अवघड झाले आहे. यामुळे रेल्वे स्थानक मार्केट यार्डासारख्या मोठ्या भागात स्थलांतरीत झाले तर आणखी विकसित करण्याची संधी आहे. त्यामुळे जादा लाइन उपलब्ध होतील.

प्लॅटफॉर्म विस्तारीकरणानंतर ओव्हरब्रिजची गरज लागणार नाही. त्याबरोबरच शहरातील सध्याचे स्टेशन ऐतिहासिक ठिकाण म्हणूनही विकसित करता येईल. त्यासाठी शहरापर्यंत येण्यासाठी एक ट्रॅकही ठेवता येईल. त्या ट्रकवरून रेल्वे शहरात येऊ शकेल. ते स्टेशनही बंद पडणार नाही आणि स्टेशन विकसित होण्याच्या दृष्टीने मार्केटयार्ड चांगला पर्याय ठरेल.

मार्केट यार्डमध्ये विकासासाठी

मोठ्या संधी आहेत. त्याठिकाणी काही झोपडपट्टीचा भाग आहे. तोही विकसित होऊ शकतो. रेल्वे त्या ठिकाणी आल्यानंतर त्या ठिकाणच्या परिसराचाही विकास होणार आहे. बाजारपेठ विकसित होईल. या भागात असणाऱ्या उद्योगांना देखील मार्केट यार्डातील स्टेशन फायदेशीर ठरणार आहे. सध्या या भागात १० कारखाने आहेत. या ठिकाणी असलेल्या मालवाहतुकीलारेल्वेचा फायदा होतोच. मात्र, तयार माल बाहेर पाठविण्यासाठी सोयीस्कर ठिकाण होईल अशी अपेक्षा आहे.

एका बाजूला मालवाहतूक आणि दुसऱ्या बाजूला प्लॅटफॉर्म वाढवणे हे दोन्ही करणे शक्य आहे. आता वाढत्या वेगाने मार्केट यार्डही शहरापासून लांब राहिलेले नाही. दळणवळणाच्या साधनांमुळे ते शहरातच आल्यासारखे आहे. या सर्वांचा विचार होता मार्केट यार्डातील रेल्वे स्टेशन विस्तार आणि विकासाच्या दृष्टीने केंद्रबिंदू ठरेल.

WITHDRAWAL OF o­nE GENERAL SECOND CLASS COACH FROM TRAIN Nos. 12607/12607 CHENNAI-BANGALORE CITY-CHENNAI LALBAGH EXPRESS & TRAIN Nos. 12609/12610 CHENNAI-BANGALORE CITY-CHENNAI EXPRESS WITH EFFECT FROM 01ST AUGUST, 2013:

One General Second Class will be withdrawn temporarilyfrom the existing composition of Train Nos. 12607/12608 CHENNAI-BANGALORE CITY-CHENNAI LALBAGH EXPRESSand TRAIN NOs. 12609/12610 CHENNAI-BANGALORE CITY-CHENNAI EXPRESS to facilitate maintenance at Pit line No.2 at Bangalore City Station, duly making the composition from 21 to 20 coaches., with effect from 01st August, 2013.

ALLAHABAD: A meeting of the Samajwadi party workers was organised in the city on Tuesday in which the members welcomed the decision of construction of Elevated Rail Link for providing permanent relief to the commuters who get stuck in the Rambagh crossing. Ceremony to lay the foundation of the link at the Rambagh crossing will be organised on August 3.They have also thanked MP Rewati Raman Singh for untiring efforts and for being instrumental in construction of the Rail Link . Participating in the meeting, city president of SP, KK Srivastava said, "hundreds of commuters face problems at the Rambagh crossing and are trapped for several hours at this crossing. The business of the markets at Khotha Parcha, Muthiganj, Rambhawan Crossing, Kotwali and Attarsuiya are getting affected and the students also face problems in reaching their homes."

MP Rewati Raman Singh has been quite instrumental in providing permanent solution to the problems that are being faced by the people at this Rambagh crossing. Samajwadi Party workers said hundreds of commuters will finally get relief from the frequent traffic jam at this crossing. Further, it will also boost business in the nearby market areas.

ALLAHABAD: Government Railway Police (GRP) on Tuesday nabbed five criminals involved in stealing passengers' mobile phones.They were arrested from platform number 9/10 of Allahabad railway junction. About 13 mobile phones worth Rs 80,000 were recovered from them.They were identified as Santosh alias Raju Nishad of Kydganj, Niyaz Ahmad alias Kallu of Satna, Kallu alias Ramzani of Attarsuiya, Kanhaiya Lal of Pratapgarh and Rahul Bhartiya of Naini.Cutters, screw driver, plier and other materials were also recovered from them.According to GRP sources, the gang was involved in several cases of theft and loot on the Mughalsarai-Allahabad, Allahabad-Katni and Allahabad-Kanpur section.
