South Central Railway has communicated this Railway that they have continued to augment Train Nos. 17209/17210 KAKINADA TOWN-BANGALORE CITY-KAKINADA TOWN EXPRESS with o­nEadditionalAC 3-Tiercoach o­n temporary measure for clearance of extra rushfrom 01stto 15thAugust, 2013, as per the following details:--
Train N0.17209 KAKINADA TOWN-BANGALORE CITY EXPRESS runs with o­nEadditional AC 3-tier coach temporarily from KAKINADA endfrom 01stto 15hAugust, 2013 and in the return direction, Train No. 17210 BANGALORE CITY-KAKINADA TOWN EXPRESSruns with o­nE additional AC 3-tier coachtemporarily from BANGALORE CITY endfrom 02NDto 15h August, 2013.
The temporary revised composition is total : 19 coaches, consisting of Three AC 3-tier coaches, Two AC 2-tier coaches, Nine Second Class Sleeper Coaches, Three General Second Class coaches and Two Second Class luggage-cum-brake vans.

North Frontier Railway has communicated this Railway that they have continued to augment Train Nos. 12510/12509 GUWAHATI-BANGALORE CITY-GUWAHATI SUPER FAST EXPRESS with o­nEFirst Class ACCoach o­n temporary measure for clearance of extra rush,as per the following details:--
Accordingly, Train No.12510 GUWAHATI-BANGALORE CITY SUPER FAST EXPRESS will run with ONE First Class AC Coach temporarily from GUWAHATI end,with effect from 12th August,2013 to 23rdSept.2013.
In the return direction, Train No.12509 BANGALORE CITY-GUWAHATI SUPER FAST EXPRESS will run with ONEFirst Class AC Coach temporarily from BANGALORE CITY end,with effect from 15th August, 2013 to 26th Sept.2013.
Thetemporary revised composition is total : 24 coaches, consisting of One First Class AC Coach, Four AC 3-tier coaches, One AC 2-tier coach, Twelve Second Class Sleeper Coaches, Two General Second Class coaches, Two Second Class luggage-cum-brake vans-cum-disabled coaches, OneParcel Van and a Pantry Car.

झाडग़्राम से धनबाद के बीच चलने वाली झाडग़्राम मेमू पैसेंजर के फेरों को आंशिक रद्द किया गया है। यह ट्रेन रविवार, मंगलवार और गुरुवार को झाडग़्राम से चंद्रपुरा तक ही फेरे लगाएगी। चंद्रपुरा से धनबाद तक इसका फेरा रद्द कर दिया गया है। यह ट्रेन रविवार से शुक्रवार तक हर दिन झाडग़्राम से धनबाद के बीच चलती है।
सप्ताह में सातों दिन चलने वाली हटिया वर्धमान पैसेंजर ट्रैक मेंटेनेंस वर्क के कारण बदले रूट से चलेगी। यह ट्रेन चंद्रपुरा-गोमो के रास्ते धनबाद आती है और इसी रास्ते से वापस लौटती है। अब यह ट्रेन चंद्रपुरा-कतरास के रास्ते धनबाद आएगी। 31 अगस्त तक इसका यही रूट रहेगा।

For the convenience of the rail passengers, Northern Railway has decided to extend the train No. 14732/14731 Delhi Jn.- Bhatinda- Delhi Jn. Daily Intercity Express upto Fazilka from 09.08.2013 from both the directions as per the under mentioned programme:

        The 14732 Delhi Jn.- Fazilka Daily Intercity Express Train will depart from Delhi Sarai Rohilla at 02.15 p.m. to reach Fazilka at 01.05 a.m. the next day. In the return direction, the 14731 Fazilka- Delhi Jn. Daily Intercity Express Train will depart from Fazilka at 02.00 a.m. to reach Delhi Jn. at 12.45 p .m. the same day.

The 14732/14731 Delhi Jn.- Bhatinda- Delhi Jn. Daily Intercity Express Train will stop at Goniana, Gangsar Jaito, Kot Kapura, Bariwala, Muktsar and Lakhewali stations enroute in both the directions o­n extended portion.

Guwahati/Agartala: Over 5,000 DYFI members, demanding early completion of delayed railway projects in the northeastern region, staged a demonstration at the NFR headquarters at Maligaon Wednesday.

Earlier, they took out a rally through different areas of Guwahati city.

Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) Rajya Sabha member Jharna Das Baidya and party leader Uddhab Barman led the rally and demonstration. The agitators submitted a memorandum to the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) General Manager R.S. Virdi. "We shall intensify our stir to force the NFR authorities to complete the railway projects at the earliest," DYFI Tripura unit president Tapas Datta told IANS. He said over 500 DYFI (Democratic Youth Federation of India) and TYF (Tribal Youth Federation) activists, accompanied by artists and singers, arrived in Guwahati Tuesday night by bus after travelling 600 km from Agartala. The activists had earlier planned to take a train but changed their plan in view of the violent situation in different parts of Assam over statehood-related protests. Both DYFI and TYF are the youth wings of CPI-M. DYFI Secretary Amal Chakraborty said: "Paucity of funds has held up many railway projects, including those declared national projects by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Both the government of India and the NFR authorities are reluctant to complete those projects."



"Besides the new railway lines in the northeastern states, gauge conversion works between Lumding (200 km north of Guwahati) and Agartala, and Agartala-Sabroom (in southern Tripura) railway extension are delayed due to the central government's negligence," he said.

The then prime minister H.D. Deve Gowda had laid the foundation stone for conversion of Lumding-Agartala metre gauge track to broad gauge in January 1996.

The cost of the project has escalated to Rs.2,800 crore from Rs.648 crore in 1996.

The broad gauge railway line from Guwahati passes through Lumding (in Assam's Nagaon district), connecting Agartala and parts of Manipur, Mizoram and southern Assam with the rest of India by a single 109-year-old metre-gauge railway track.

Agartala is one of the newest stations of the Indian Railways, and came up on the country's rail map in October 2008.

"After a series of movements since 1952, the metre-gauge railway track was extended from Lumding to Agartala in 2008," Tapas Datta regretted.

According to the Left Leaders, the DYFI and TYF activists have been organising protest rallies in Tripura and Assam over the past three months to make Wednesday's demonstration programme in Maligaon a success.

Shops downed shutters and autorickshaws kept off the roads at Vadamadurai near here on Tuesday in protest over the proposed move by railway authorities to close down the century-old Vadamadurai railway station.The town panchayat wore a deserted look with approximately 500 shops remaining shut and autorickshaws staying off the streets as traders and members of the Chamber of Commerce in Vadamadurai joined the public to mark their protest.The doubling of the track between Tiruchi and Dindigul is said to be the reason behind the decision to close the station.Vadamadurai Chamber of Commerce president S.Thiagarajan said this station catered for a population of over 20,000 in and around Vadamadurai. Thousands of students and workers commuted on passenger trains to Tiruchi and Manaparai every day, he pointed out.At present, Madurai-Villupuram and Dindigul-Nagoor passenger trains stopped at Vadamadurai station in the morning and evening, and pressure was mounting on the railways to ensure that the Tirunelveli-Mayiladuthurai fast passenger train stopped at Vadamadurai, he noted.

Local residents said trains were the cheapest mode of transport for rural people. The bus fare to Dindigul from Vadamadurai was Rs.10, whereas the train fare was only Rs.5. Similarly, the bus fare to Tiruchi from Vadamadurai was Rs.48, but the train fare was just Rs.15, they pointed out.

But railway officials said the minimum distance between two stations should be 15 kilometres in double-track sections. But the distance between Thamaraipadi and Vadamadurai was just 7 km. This station served as a crossing point for trains in the absence of a double-track, they noted.

Moreover, the revenue generated by the Vadamadurai station was only Rs.20,000 per month, but the minimum expenditure incurred by the station, including the salaries of the railway employees, was Rs.2 lakh, they added.

There are also plans to establish a goods shed at Thamaraipadi railway station.

The railways have also proposed to close the Chettiyapatti railway station near Manaparai in the Dindigul-Tiruchi section, the sources said.

Members of the Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Wayanad Chamber of Commerce have constituted a Mysore–Wayanad Joint Railway Connectivity Committee for seeking rail link between the two regions. At a meeting held here on Tuesday, MCCI president Sudhakar Shetty said if the railway line was approved, it would boost industrialisation, trade, tourism, and commerce. A.S. Satish, vice-president of MCCI; M.C. Bhansali, secretary; Shreeshaila Ramannavar, member, Ashok, vice-president, Travel Agents Association, and members of Wayanad Chamber of Commerce were present.

Chandigarh/Ferozepur : Sher Singh Ghubaya, Member Parliament would flag off two new Intercity Express between Ferozepur-Delhi and Fazilka-Delhi on August 9.

The two new trains introduced, with the sincere efforts of Sher Singh Ghubaya, are Train No.14626 and 14625 between Ferozepur-Delhi and Fazilka –Delhi, which were planned in the Rail Budget.

Giving this inforamtion, Makhan Singh, Member SSS Board, Punjab Government said, “The Intercity Express from Ferozepur would start on daily basis, at 4.30 AM and reach Delhi at 11.40 AM by covering 382 KMs journey via Faridkot, Kotkapura, Bhatinda, Jakhal, Narvana, Jind, Rohtak and the last station in Delhi would Saria Rohila.  On return, this train will start at 7 AM covering the same return route would reach at Ferozepru at 2.45 PM”.

Similarly, the Intercity Express between Fazilka-Delhi, Train No.14732 and 14731) would start on daily basis at 2 AM and reach New Delhi at 12.45 PM,  via Lakhowali, Sri Mukatsar Sahib, Bariwala, Kotkapura, Gangsar Jaito, Bahtinda, Dhuri, Rajpura, Ambala, Panipat. On return, it will start at 1.45 AM through the same return route and reach Fazilka at 1.05 PM.
