पलपल इंडिया ब्यूरो, मुंबई.  हॉकर से गैर कानूनी तरीके से पैसा लेने के आरोप में मध्य रेलवे आरपीएफ ने दो सहायक उपनिरीक्षकों को डिसमिस कर दिया. डिसमिस किए गए दोनों सहायक उपनिरीक्षक (एन.जी. राणे और आर. एस. खर्डे) कल्याण में तैनात थे. दोनों पर अवैध हॉकर से गैर कानूनी तरीके से पैसा लेने का आरोप लगाया गया था, जिसकी छानबीन के बाद दोनों को डिसमिस करने का निर्णय लिया गया.

सूत्रों की मानें तो खर्डे और राणे ने एक हॉकर से 500 रुपए लेकर उसे जमानत पर रिहा कर दिया था. कोर्ट में पेशी के दौरान उस हॉकर ने मजिस्ट्रेट से पैसे लेने की बात कही, उसके बाद मजिस्ट्रेट ने संबंधित विभाग को इस मामले की जांच कराने का निर्देश दिया. जांच में पैसे लेने का आरोप सही पाया गया, जिसके बाद दोनों को सेवा से डिसमिस कर दिया गया.

MPs meet Union Minister on Nanjangud-Nilambur railway project

Union Railway Minister M. Mallikarjun Kharge has assured a team of MPs that his Ministry will seriously consider realising the proposed Nanjangud-Nilambur railway that connects three States in South India.

M.I. Shanavas, MP, said in a release here on Wednesday that the team stressed the need for a railway line that connected eight districts of Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu for the development of backward districts in the region. The team comprised R. Dhruva Narayan, A. Raja, and M.I. Shanavas, MPs from the Chamaraj Nagar constituency in Karnataka, Nilgiri in Tamil Nadu, and Wayanad respectively.

They also submitted a memorandum on the significance of constructing the railway line, Mr. Shanavas said. According to a revised survey of the Southern Railway, the proposed project could be commissioned at an estimated cost of Rs.4,266.85 crore.

First phase

The first phase of the project aimed at constructing a railway line connecting Sulthan Bathery and Nanjangud at a cost of Rs.641 crore. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had announced recently that that the government would give first priority to the proposed project, Mr. Shanavas said.

A joint meeting of various organisations including the Mysore Chamber of Commerce, Mysore Travel and Tourism Organisation, Wayanad-Nilgiri Railway Action Council, and the Kerala Samajam Mysore Unit held in Mysore on Tuesday decided to exert pressure on governments to realise the project, T.M. Rasheed, convener of the Wayanad-Nilgiri Railway Action Council, said.

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Government has approved the construction of three new Railway Over Bridges (ROBs) that would start in the month of October this year.
Disclosing this here today Mr. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Minister for Public Works Department said that these ROBs would be constructed with the cost of 94.18 crore. He said these ROBs would be built in Malwa region of the state in Malerkotla on Raikot Road, Gobindgarh and Northern Bypass Patiala.
Mr. Dhillon said that all these three ROBs are expected to be completed within 18 months. He added that construction work of Kapurthala ROB is in progress with estimated cost of RS 34 Crore and target has been fixed to complete this project by December, 2014.
He further said that ROBs on Gurney, Khanna on Khanna-Lalheri Raod, Mukerian, Chhajli on Sunam Lehra and Sahnewal is at full swing and more than 80% work is complete. These two ROBs are being constructed with the estimated cost Rs. 111.80 crore. He said that all these five ROBs are expected to be completed within 6-8 months.
The Minister said that the state Government is committed to provide better infrastructure and road connectivity for the development of the state. He said that the SAD-BJP Government strengthened the state road infrastructure by constructing 33 Railway Over/Under Bridges with the cost of   Rs. 564.95 crore during its previous tenure.

Union minister for information and broadcasting Manish Tewari has written to railway minister Mallikarjun Kharge seeking his personal intervention on completion of the footbridge at the Ludhiana railway station.In his letter to the minister, Tewari wrote that the work on the footbridge had started a few years ago. However, midway the railways stopped the same for unexplained reasons.Seeking inquiry into abandoning of work on footbridge, he said: “The matter may kindly be inquired as to why the work had to be abandoned and how much money was spent on it before being abandoned.”He asked as to why the project was cancelled and whether any penalty has been fixed and what action has been taken in this regard.Emphasising the need for early completion of work on the footbridge, Tewari pointed out: “Ludhiana is one of the most important cities in Punjab with a lot of railway traffic. The new footbridge is urgently needed as the existing one is quite narrow.”

One additional second class sleeper coach is also attached to the same train on August 3, 7, 11, 16, 20, 24 and 28.In the return direction, 12246 Yeshwantpur-Howrah Duranto Express runs with one additional 3-tier AC coach on August 4, 6, 8, 11, 12, 15, 16, 19, 20, 23, 25, 27, 29 & September 1 and 2. One additional second class sleeper coach is also attached to the same train on August 5, 9, 13, 18, 22, 26 & 30.

नई दिल्ली.  देशभर में चलने वाली 368 रेल परियोजनाएं फिलहाल पैसे के अभाव में लंबित पड़े हुए हैं. ये जानकारी आज सरकार ने संसद मे दी है. सरकार के मुताबिक 368 रेल परियोजनाएं लंबित हैं जिन्हें पूरा करने के लिए 1 लाख 78 हजार करोड़ रुपये की जरूरत होगी.

लोकसभा में शरद यादव, शैलेन्द्र कुमार, गणेश नाइक, अर्जुन राम मेघवाल के प्रश्न के उत्तर में रेल मंत्री मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे ने कहा कि 1 अप्रैल 2013 की स्थिति के अनुसार अभी 368 रेल परियोजनाओं पर काम जारी है जिनमें 156 नई रेल लाइन, 43 आमान परिवर्तन और 169 दोहरीकरण से जुड़ी परियोजनाएं हैं.

उन्होंने कहा कि इन्हें पूरा करने के लिए 1.78 लाख करोड़ रुपये की जरूरत होगी. अभी हर वर्ष 9 हजार करोड़ रुपये खर्च हो रहे हैं. इन परियोजनाओं को पूरा करने के लिए राजस्व जुटाने का प्रयास किया जा रहा है.

रेल मंत्री ने कहा कि पिछले तीन वर्षो में 171 नई रेल परियोजनाओं को मंजूरी दी गई है जिनमें 5,431 किलोमीटर की 54 नई रेल लाइन, नौ आमान परिवर्तन और 108 दोहरीकरण की परियोजनाएं शामिल हैं. खड़गे ने कहा कि उपलब्ध संसाधनों के अनुरूप परियोजनाओं पर काम आगे बढ़ाया जा रहा है.

इससे पहले भी पूर्व रेलमंत्री पवन बंसल ने कहा था कि रेल मंत्रालय के पास पैसे का अभाव है. हाल के दिनों में रेल किराया में बढ़ोत्तरी के पीछे भी सरकार ने यही कारण बताया था.

To clear extra rush on the occasion of Eid festival, Northern Railway will run special trains between Banihal and Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir for three days from tomorrow. Special trains will be pressed into service between Baramulla and Banihal from tomorrow to facilitate passengers travelling during the festive period, said a senior Northern Railway official. The Banihal-Qazigund section, part of the Kashmir rail link project, was recently commissioned with much fanfare in the presence of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi. The special train service will be available for three days from August 9 to 11 in the section. The Special train will start operation from Budgam at 6.10 AM to arrive Banihal at 7.50 AM the same day. In return the train will leave Banihal at 8 AM to reach at 9.43 AM. Another train will depart from Baramulla at 2.10 PM to arrive Banihal at 5.55 PM. Similarly, more trains will run in the section during the day including the last special train will depart from Banihal at 6 PM to arrive at Budgaon at 8.10 PM.
