As part of the plan to protect railway tracks and prevent encroachments on its property, rail authorities have decided to construct a 7km-long wall between Bhopal railway station and Habibganj railway station at a cost R1.5 crore.Commandant of Railway Protection Force (RPF), Bhopal Vijay Khatarkar said, "A wall would be constructed on both sides of the tracks between Habibganj and Bhopal railway stations.It will help to protect railway properties and prevent several untoward incidents. The budget for the project has been sanctioned and work is expected to start soon.The wall would first be constructed in areas which are considered security threats," he said.Recently, 20-year-old Poonam Soni was run over by a train while crossing the track near Kasturba Nagar.Several people cross the railway tracks daily between Habibganj and Bhopal railway stations especially near Kasturba Nagar, Rachana Nagar, Subhash Railway crossing, Barkhedi and Aishbagh. At numerous occasions, they are run over by approaching trains. The RPF has failed to put an end to this menace.Often, anti-social elements put stones, iron rods and electric poles on the tracks. "Once the wall is constructed, anti-social elements would not be able to sabotage the tracks.It would also help the RPF to protect railway properties," a senior railway official said.Several slums have come up adjacent to the railway tracks near Subhash railway crossing, Barkhedi and other areas. The shanties have even covered the railway signals as a result train drivers face problems while crossing this section."If the wall, which is estimated to be 6ft-tall, is constructed from both sides, the people would not able to develop shanties near the railway track," said Vijay Khatarkar.However, railway sources said as of now with the first phase of construction, the railway authorities will not meddle with the existing encroachments but will carry on the work at places which are still under the possession of the railways.

दिल्ली-जयपुर व दिल्ली जोधपुर रेल मार्ग की ट्रेनों में बेहतरीन खाना उपलब्ध करवाने की कोशिशें तेज हो गई हैं। रविवार से दिल्ली-जयपुर डबल डेकर ट्रेन से इसकी शुरुआत की गई। इस ट्रेन में उपलब्ध फूड पैकेट पर उसकी पूरी डिटेल दी जा रही है।
क्या हुए बदलाव
एनडब्ल्यूआर से मिली जानकारी के अनुसार रेलवे ने दिल्ली-जयपुर डबल डेकर के कैटरर के साथ मिलकर फूड पैकेट पर कई अहम जानकारियां डलवाई हैं। इनमें फूड पैकेट पर न सिर्फ उसके बनने की डेट बल्कि उसके बनने का समय, पैक होने का समय, उसमें क्या सामग्री है और कितनी सामग्री है की डिटेल भी दी गई है। इसके साथ ही बेस्ट बिफोर का टैग भी इन फूड पैकेट पर लगाया गया है।
क्यों पड़ी जरूरत
रेलवे क ी खान-पान व्यवस्था हमेशा ही विवादों में रही है। पैसेंजर भी इसे लेकर कई बार शिकायत कर चुके हैं। इसे लेकर प्रदर्शन भी हो चुके हैं। एनडब्ल्यूआर से मिली जानकारी के अनुसार पैसेंजर लगातार खराब खाने की शिकायतें कर रहे थे। इस बात को लेकर कई बार ट्रेन के कू्र के साथ पैसेंजरों की बहस भी हुई है। इन वजहों से यह बदलाव किए गए हैं। अधिकारियों के अनुसार इन टैग के फूड पैकेट पर लगे होने से कैटरर यात्रियों को खराब या बासा खाना नहीं दे सकेंगे। पैसेंजर को भी पता रहेगा कि उन्हें जो खाना दिया गया है वह ताजा है या नहीं।



एनडब्ल्यूआर के मुख्य जनसंपर्क अधिकारी तरुण जैन का कहना है कि डबल डेकर ट्रेन में यह सुविधा शुरू कर दी गई है। यात्रियों का रिस्पॉन्स लिया जा रहा है। इसे लेकर सरप्राइज चेकिंग भी की जा रही है। इसके बाद इसी रूट की आश्रम एक्सपे्रस, मंडोल एक्सपे्रस में यह सर्विस शुरू की जाएगी। इसके अलावा जयपुर-मुंबई दूरंतो, जयपुर-मुंबई सुपरफास्ट, जोधपुर-हावड़ा सुपरफास्ट ट्रेनों में भी यह सर्विस जल्द शुरू होगी।

SRINAGAR

At least 63 youth have been arrested by Railway police for their alleged involvement in damaging trains and railway property in different parts of South Kashmir.

Police sources told a local news agency, CNS that during different stone pelting incidents agitated youth damaged railway property at different places in South Kashmir. “After analyzing video clips all the culprits were identified and arrested,” sources said.

At least 63 youth have been arrested so far who belong to different places including Awantipora, Islamabad, Kakapora and other areas.

“All these youth have been detained by Railway police,” a police official said.

Despite repeated attempts Superintendent of Police, Railways could not be contacted.

Terminal Station of Sirpurkaghaznagar-Hyderabad Express and Originating Station of Hyderabad-Bidar Express Changed



South Central Railway will change the terminal station of Sirpurkaghaznagar-Hyderabad Express and originating Station of  Hyderabad-Bidar Express with effect from 15th August, 2013 as detailed below:-



1) Train No. 17012 Bellampalli-Hyderabad Express will terminate at Secunderabad  instead of Hyderabad. This  train  departs Bellampalli at 11 00 hrs and arrives Secunderabad at 17 00 hrs o­n the same day.



2) Train No. 17010 Hyderabad-Bidar Express will depart from Secunderabad  instead of Hyderabad..  Accordingly, Tr. No. 17010 Secunderabad-Bidar Express will depart Secunderabad at 17 30 hrs and arrive Bidar at 21 15 hrs o­n the same day. In the return direction, Tr. No. 17009 Bidar-Hyderabad Express will terminate at Hyderabad as at present.

After remaining suspended for the past two days, the train service between Budgam in central Kashmir and Jammu’s Banihal area resumed today.Railway officials said the decision to resume the service partially was taken after a joint meeting with the security officials.“As the situation was normal today, we resumed the service partly from Budgam in central Kashmir to Banihal in Ramban district,” he said.He, however, added that a decision about resuming the service up to Baramulla in north Kashmir would be taken on Tuesday morning.The train service was suspended on Saturday after incidents of stone pelting on the railway tracks.The Railway officials said that they were assessing the damage caused to the railway property in the stone pelting incidents.

A pair of weekly special express trains will be run between Yesvantpur and Hatia from August 17 to 27 to clear the extra rush of passengers going towards Bengaluru.

Train no. 08638 Yesvantpur-Hatia Express will leave Yesvantpur at 12:30 a.m. (midnight) on Tuesdays on August 13{+t}{+h}, 20{+t}{+h}and 27{+t}{+h}and arrive in Visakhapatnam on the same day at 8:35 p.m. and leave at 8:55 p.m. to reach Hatia at 1:30 p.m. on the next day.In the return direction, train no. 08637 Hatia-Yesvantpur will leave Hatia at 6:15 p.m. on August 17{+t}{+h}and 24{+t}{+h}(Saturdays) and reach here on Sundays at 9:45 a.m. It would leave at 10:05 a.m. to reach Yesvantpur at 5 a.m. on the following day, according to the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Waltair Division M. Yelvender Yadav.

3 trains cancelled

Meanwhile, the East Coast Railway has announced the cancellation of the following trains from August 14 to 18 to facilitate track development works and non-interlocking works between Kottavalasa and Kantakapalle.The trains to be cancelled are: no. 58526/58525 Visakhapatnam-Palasa-Visakhapatnam Passenger, 58528/58527 Visakhapatnam-Raipur-Visakhapatnam Passenger and 58538/58537 Visakhapatnam-Koraput-Visakhapatnam Passenger. Passengers have been asked to make a note of the changes.

ALLAHABAD: Sleuths of RPF ( Railway Protection Force) nabbed a person dealing in sale of IMFL ( Indian Made Foreign Liquor) at Allahabad railway junction on Monday. About 40 bottles of foreign liquor were recovered from the possession of the person.The person was identified as Dinesh Kumar Tyagi, resident of Preetam Nagar of the city.While he was moving in the main hall of the city side of the Allahabad railway junction, sleuths of RPF took hold of him. About 40 liquor bottles were recovered from him.The market price of the liquor was estimated to be about Rs 20,000. He arrived at Allahabad railway junction from Prayag Raj Express.RPF inspector Anand Kumar told TOI that on interrogation, the person revealed that he was retired army personnel who worked in the Indian Army but he failed to show the identity card.The erring person was later handed over to GRP.

AHMEDABAD: Activists from Gujarat have launched an online petition to challenge the decision of the state government and the National Board for Wildlife to give permission to create a rail corridor that will cut close to the Thol bird sanctuary. The corridor has been proposed by the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation (DFC) of India. The railway line will pass just 700 metres from the sanctuary. The petition is addressed to P V Jayakrishanan, the chairman of the central empowered committee of the Union environment ministry. In the petition, activists note that the principal chief wildlife warden (CWW) of Gujarat has given the final approval to the railway line. The petition says that the series of events surrounding the approval suggests that the DFC had requested a no-objection certificate from the office of the CWW. Before approving the project, the office of the CWW had directed the matter to the deputy conservator of forests, Nalsarovar forest division, the petition says. Also, the matter was presented to the Gujarat sate Board for Wildlife and the standing committee of the National Board for Wildlife, the petitioners say. However, the petition says, looking at the processes that were followed by the office of the CWW of Gujarat, it was clear that due procedure was not followed.

Further, the petitioners argue, the project will engage high-tension electric lines which will cause irreversible damage to water and to the migratory birds.

The activists have demanded that the authorities be ordered to cancel the approval. The activists want the railway line to be at least 10 km from the boundary of the sanctuary.
