लाल किला पर 15 अगस्त को स्वतंत्रता दिवस समारोहों के चलते पुरानी दिल्ली और शाहदरा स्टेशनों के बीच ट्रेनों की आवाजाही अस्थायी रूप से रद्द रहेगी. उत्तर रेलवे के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने बताया कि इस कारण से कुछ ट्रेनों का समय फिर से तय होगा, कुछ का परिचालन नियंत्रित होगा और कुछ ट्रेन रद्द रहेंगी.

अधिकारी ने बताया कि सुबह में 6.45 से 8.30 तक दोनों स्टेशनों के बीच ट्रेनों की आवाजाही रद्द रहेगी. आजमगढ-दिल्ली कैफियत एक्सप्रेस और खुर्जा-पुरानी दिल्ली शकूरबस्ती ट्रेन साहिबाबाद तक रहेगी. प्रतापगढ-पुरानी दिल्ली पद्मावत एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन शाहदरा में नियंत्रित होगी.

कालका-हावड़ा मेल और लालगढ़-गुवाहाटी अवध असम एक्सप्रेस अनुमति मिलने तक पुरानी दिल्ली पर रहेगी. देहरादून-सराय रोहिल्ला मसूरी एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन को साहिबाबाद-तिलक ब्रिज-नई दिल्ली-सराय रोहिल्ला की ओर मोड़ा जाएगा. सोनीपत-पुरानी दिल्ली-साहिबाबाद ट्रेन सब्जी मंडी-नई दिल्ली-तिलक मार्ग से होकर जाएगी.

सुबह के घंटों में पाबंदी के कारण कुछ ट्रेनों के प्रस्थान समय में बदलाव किया जा रहा है. शामली-पुरानी दिल्ली पैसेंजर ट्रेन शामली से सुबह में 3.15 के स्थान पर साढ़े चार बजे रवाना होगी.

We are just 2 days away from the Independence day and the Pakistani hackers seem to have gone on the overdrive. Official Website of Eastern Railways has been hacked by group of Pakistani hackers called Mindcracker.  Though the main homepage is intact, and also the links from the main homepage seems to be fine, they seem to have gained access to some part of the website. The hackers seem to have exploited a part of website that may have been vulnerable and have been able to deface it.

At the time of writing this piece, the hacked page is still showing up.

If you are curious enough, here is the link to the defaced page of Eastern Railway website.  If you find out about this before Indian railways does, you will be able to see it.  The defaced page says that this hack is in reply to the Pakistan Army website being hacked by Indians.

We will update this story with more info shortly!

After doing some research we found that site may have been hacked earlier (in June or July), because this eastern railway website was defaced back in June and it is still live. We are not sure if Railways even know about this. Here is another defaced page which was live in June and still remains.

Today’s Update: The concerned officials from CRIS managing the site have mentioned that the website is now retrieved from hackers and restored to normalcy.

For the convenience of the rail passengers and to increase the
passenger carrying capacity of trains, Railway has decided to
augment the 12167/12168 Lokmanya Tilak T.- Varanasi- Lokmanya Tilak T. Superfast Express train by o­ne additional A.C. 3 Tier and Two additional Sleeper Class coaches with immediate effect upto 31.08.2013 when departing from Lokmanya Tilak T. & from 15.08.2013 to 01.09.2013 when departing from Varanasi o­n temporary basis. The other features like timings, route, stoppages etc. will remain as unchanged.

EXTENSION OF TEMPORARY AUGMENTATION OF DELHI SARAI ROHILLA- JAIPUR DOUBLE DECKER TRAIN

          For the convenience of the rail passengers and to increase the
passenger carrying capacity of trains, Railway has decided to
extend the augmentation of the 12986/12985 Delhi Sarai Rohilla- Jaipur- Delhi Sarai Rohilla Double Decker train by Two additional A.C. Chair Car coaches upto 15.09.2013 o­n temporary basis from both the directions.

For the convenience of the rail passengers and to increase the
passenger carrying capacity of trains, Railway has decided to

बरेली: डीआरएम ऑफिस के पास मिंट्टी के ढेर हटा रहे चार रेलवे सफाई कर्मियों को तेज रफ्तार वैन ने टक्कर मार दी। चारों घायलों को रेलवे अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया है। पुलिस ने वैन को कब्जे में ले लिया है।
सुबह करीब 8.30 बजे के आसपास रेलवे के चार सफाई कर्मचारी रेलवे कॉलोनी निवासी फिरोज, नानकचंद, फरीदापुर के जगदीश और परतापुर चौधरी के अशोक डीआरएम ऑफिस के पास लगे मिंट्टी के ढेर हटा रहे थे। इसी बीच एक तेज रफ्तार वैन आई और चारों को टक्कर मार दी। स्थिति इतनी खौफनाक थी कि दो रेलवे कर्मी तो वैन के नीचे जाकर फंस गए। यह देख वैन चालक तुरंत ही मौके से फरार हो गया। फिरोज की हालत गंभीर है।

New Delhi: No platform tickets will be sold at New Delhi, Nizamuddin and Old Delhi railway stations from 14th August till August 15 due to security reasons on account of the Independence Day. However, platform tickets will be sold on demand to senior citizens, physically challenged and patients, said a senior Northern Railway official.      He said tickets would also be provided to ladies travelling alone or with children.      The railways had earlier decided to stop the movement of trains between Old Delhi and Shahadara on the morning of August 15 in view of the Independence Day function at the nearby Red Fort.

With a majority of RTC and private buses staying off the road between Hyderabad and Seemandhra regions due to the Seemandhra employees’ indefinite strike, South Central Railway has decided to attach 84 extra coaches to 16 express trains, including Secunderabad-Tirupati, Kacheguda-Yeshwantpur, Hyderabad-Narsapur and others from August 12 to 20.

SCR authorities claimed that this would help in accommodating 6,048 additional berths to clear the extra rush of passengers and all this in addition to the 26 originating special trains being operated across the State, said the spokesperson.

Frequency increased

This apart, the frequency of train no. 18509 / 18510 Visakhapatnam-Nanded-Visakhapatnam Express will be increased from bi-weekly to tri-weekly.

Accordingly, train no. 18509 Visakhapatnam-Nanded Express, currently departing from Visakhapatnam on Wednesday and Saturday, will also depart on Tuesday. On its way, the train will arrive at Secunderabad at 9 a.m. and depart at 9.20 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.

With effect from August 14, the train no. 18510 Nanded-Viskhapatnam Express, currently departing from Nanded on Thursday and Sunday, will depart on Wednesday as well. The train will arrive at Secunderabad at 9.10 p.m. and depart at 9.20 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.

Meanwhile, traffic passed smoothly on the otherwise busy Miyapur-Kukatpally-S.R.Nagar-Lakdikapul stretch on Tuesday night with majority of private buses and RTC buses being cancelled due to the strike. Private bus operators claimed that 75 buses were operated on Tuesday against the daily traffic of 250 buses to Seemandhra region. Passengers, however, had some tense moments as the buses were stopped at Anantapur and Palamaneru areas for over six hours and for about 30 minutes in other Seemandhra regions by agitators.

Raising slogans, agitators stopped the buses from 2 a.m. at different places and as a result, the journey time extended by about five hours on the Hyderabad- Rayalaseema route. Given the uncertainty and apprehensions, most people are cancelling their trips and there is hardly 15 per cent seat occupancy ratio in buses, says H.T. Ramakrishna of Kesineni Travels.
