In the wake of the recent incident of 28 devotees being run over by a train in Khagaria district, the East Central Railway (ECR) has decided to launch an awareness drive to dissuade people from walking on the tracks.   The drive will be carried out in all the five ECR divisions, Atul Pathak, IG-cum Chief Safety Commissioner of Railway Protection Force (RPF) told reporters.    ECR comprises Danapur, Samastipur (under which Dhamara ghat station falls), Mughalsarai, Dhanbad and Sonepur divisions.    ECR Chief Public Relations Officer Amitabh Prabhakar said the drive would be speeded up to dissuade people from hopping from one platform to another by using the tracks or walking on the tracks.    Pathak said besides prosecution, counselling of the people violating the rules would be done as part of the drive.    28 'kawarias' (devotees of Lord Shiva) were mowed down by Saharsa-Patna Rajya Rani express on Dhamara Ghat station while they were walking on the tracks to visit Katyani temple on the last Monday of the month of 'Shrawan'.    Despite frequent drives, trespassing, which is an act of offence under section 147 of The Railways Act has been rampant in the zone accounting for almost 45 per cent people undertaking a Railway journey, Pathak said.    The Act has a provision to impose a penalty of upto Rs 500 or seven days imprisonment for trespassing, the RPF IG said.

A total of 1,415 persons were sent to jail on the charge of trespassing in areas falling under the ECR in 2011, Pathak said.    

The figure increased to 1,808 in 2012 and in the first seven months of 2013, 702 persons have so far been sent to jail, he said.    

ECR with its headquarters at Hajipur realised over Rs 1.34 crore as penalty from people walking on the tracks in between 2011 and July 2013, the RPF IG added.    

Pathak said that RPF personnel have been told in all the divisions to be vigilant against trespassers to avoid Dhamara Ghat-type incident.    

On the instructions of Minister of State for Railway Adhir Ranjan Chaudhury, who had visited the mishap site, public address system has been installed at Dhamara Ghat station to warn passengers against trespassing and for conveying other necessary information, Prabhakar said.   

Crossing over from one platform to another through the tracks instead of using the over bridge is a common sight in Patna junction and other Railway stations in Bihar resulting in accidents.

28 बेकसूरों द्वारा जान गंवाने के बाद रेल मंत्रालय धमारा स्टेशन पर मेहरबान हुआ है। रेल मंत्रालय ने स्टेशन पर फुटओवर ब्रिज, प्लेटफॉर्म अन्य निर्माण कार्यो की स्वीकृति दी है। इस पर 2.41 करोड़ रुपये खर्च होंगे।
गौरतलब है कि इसी स्टेशन पर विगत 19 अगस्त को सावन के अंतिम सोमवार को काफी संख्या में श्रद्धालु राज्यरानी एक्सप्रेस की चपेट में आ गए थे। दुर्घटना में मारे गए अधिकांश लोग प्रसिद्ध मां कात्यायनी मंदिर में पूजा करने गए थे। घटना से आक्रोशित लोगों ने राज्यरानी समेत दो ट्रेनों में आग लगा दी थी। स्टेशन पर भी भारी तोड़फोड़ की थी। इसमें रेलवे को करोड़ों रुपयों का नुकसान हुआ था। यहां फुटओवर ब्रिज समेत विभिन्न मांगों को लेकर पिछले कई दिनों से युवा शक्ति के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष नागेंद्र सिंह त्यागी के नेतृत्व में दर्जनों लोग अनशन पर बैठे हैं।
एसपी शिवकुमार झा ने बताया, रेल मंत्रालय व समस्तीपुर के अपर मंडल रेल प्रबंधक एसएन पतियाल ने रविवार को उन्हें पत्र भेजा है। इसमें 2.41 करोड़ की लागत से स्टेशन पर निर्माण कार्योँ को मंजूरी दी गई है।
रेलवे सूत्रों के अनुसार समस्तीपुर-सहरसा रेल खंड के धमारा स्टेशन पर प्लेटफॉर्म नंबर एक को 231 मीटर बढ़ाने, प्लेटफॉर्म नंबर तीन पर 415 मीटर लंबे नए प्लेटफॉर्म का निर्माण, प्लेटफॉर्म नंबर एक से तीन को जोड़ते हुए फुटओवर ब्रिज का निर्माण, लाइन नंबर एक व दो और दो व तीन पर टाई बार फेंसिंग, प्लेटफॉर्म पर समुचित प्रचार-प्रसार की व्यवस्था, 10 छोटे शेल्टर व बिजली की सुविधा हेतु सोलर सिस्टम लगाने की स्वीकृति दी गई है।
समस्तीपुर मंडल रेलवे के अधिकारी के अनुसार दुर्घटना में मारे गये 28 लोगों में से 25 के उत्तराधिकारियों को 15-15 हजार रुपये उसी दिन दिए गए थे। शेष 4.85 लाख रुपये उनके खातों में जमा किए जाएंगे। पांच लोगों के बैंक खातों में शेष राशि भेज दी गई है। बाकि मृतकों के परिजनों के भी खाता नंबर मिलने के तुरंत बाद शेष राशि भेज दी जाएगी। दुर्घटना में गंभीर रूप से जख्मी दो लोगों को पांच-पांच हजार रुपये नकद व 95 हजार रुपये उनके खाते में भेज दिए गए हैं।

सीतापुर। लखनऊ-दिल्ली राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग-24 पर उत्तर रेलवेे मुरादाबाद मंडल की हेमपुर क्रॉसिंग गेट नंबर-45 ए की मरम्मत का कार्य रविवार से शुरू हो गया। पहले दिन रविवार को कॉशन के जरिए इस ट्रैक से जाने वाली सभी रेलगाड़ियां दस की स्पीड से गुजारी गईं, जबकि क्रॉसिंग से होकर जाने वाले वाहनों को डायवर्जन के जरिए अलग-अलग रूटों से निकाला गया। डायवर्जन के कारण वाहनों को लंबी दूरी तय करनी पड़ी। हालांकि कहीं भी जाम की नौबत नहीं आई। सोमवार को भी इस क्रॉसिंग पर मरम्मत का कार्य होगा।
उत्तर रेलवे मुरादाबाद मंडल की हेमपुर रेलवे क्रॉसिंग गेट नंबर-45 ए की ओवर हॉलिंग व ट्रैक के स्लीपर बदलने के लिए 25 व 26 अगस्त की तारीख तय की थी। इसके चलते लखनऊ-दिल्ली राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग-24 पर पड़ने वाली हेमपुर रेलवे क्रॉसिंग से वाहनों की आवाजाही रविवार को बंद कर दी गई। सुबह दस के बाद इस क्रॉसिंग से वाहनों की आवाजाही पर पूरी तरह बंद कर दी गई। इसके बाद जेसीबी व क्रेन के साथ रेलवे अफसरों की पहुंची और मरम्मत कार्य शुरू करा दिया गया। इस दौरान हेमपुर क्रॉसिंग से गुजरने वाली ट्रेनों को पहले दिन कॉशन देकर दस की स्पीड में निकाला गया। दोपहर तक की सभी ट्रेनों को कॉसन के जरिए पास करने के बाद मरम्मत कार्य तेज हुआ। मरम्मत कार्य में लगे मजदूरों ने पटरियों को काटा। बाद में उन्हें जेसीबी और क्रेन की मदद से निकालने के बाद वहां पर नई पटरियां बिछाईं गईं। इस काम में ढाई घंटे का समय लग गया। आननफानन टीम ने पहले ट्रैक पर लेवलिंग की। बाद में वहां पर नई पटरियां बिछाईं।
इस क्रॉसिंग से होकर गुजरने वाले आम मुसाफिरों व माल वाहक वाहनों को दूसरे मार्गों से निकाला गया। जाम से बचाने के लिए डायवर्जन वाले तय रूटों पर पुलिस बल भी तैनात किया गया था।
लखनऊ से दिल्ली जाने वाले यात्री वाहन सिधौली-मिश्रिख-पिसावां-नेरी होते राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग-24 पर निकाले गए। इसी तरह महोली-बड़ागांव-हरगांव-सीतापुर नैपालापुर वाया लखीमपुर बाई पास होते हुए वाहन हाईवे पर निकले। माल वाहक वाहनों को लखीमपुर बाईपास नैपालापुर-हरगांव-लखीमपुर-मोहम्मदी व शाहजहांपुर को निकाले गए। इस डायवर्जन से यात्री व माल वाहक वाहनों को लंबी दूरी का सफर तय करना पड़ा।http://epaper.amarujala.com//pdf/2013/08/26/20130826a_01716900503.jpg

The South Western Railway has prepared a methodology for translocation of Tipu Sultan’s armoury building at Srirangapatna to a location identified jointly by the Department of Archaeology, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and SWR.

Archaeology Director Dr R Gopal approved the methodology submitted by K Ravichandran, Deputy Chief Engineer (Construction), SWR.

The method involves six phases; inserting steel load frames to drill holes in the structure at floor level, insertion of Unified Jacking System consisting of a number of jacks as per the design requirement, insertion of hold beams made of steel section and insertion of roll beams with Hilman Rollers and using Jacking System to move the armoury building as a whole in a single mass.

The distance of translocation is about 100 metres. The building will be moved in the same orientation as the present, in two mutually perpendicular directions for the requisite length so that the monument is not physically rotated. The method of slicing or cutting into blocks and reassembling at a new location is not permitted.

 “Heritage buildings require a greater degree of expertise to ensure they are properly preserved. Use of experienced moving companies is essential to ensure the building preservation is a success. SWR has entrusted the ‘Feasibility study on Relocation of Tipu Sultan’s Armoury building’ to Institution of Engineers (India). It has broadly outlined the relocation methodology based on the feasibility report and discussions with experienced structural movers,” an SWR official told Express. 

However, the actual methodology will be based on the detailed analysis and designs. It will be submitted to the Archaeology Department for final approval.  Due to the delay, the track doubling between Ramnagaram-Mysore is not completed. The track alignment passes over the armoury.

2)Nagercoil – Velankanni – Nagercoil Special: T.No.06302 Nagercoil – Velankanni Special will leave Nagercoil at 14.00 hrs. on 27.08.2013 and arrive Velankanni at03.00 hrs. the next day. T.No.06301 Velankanni – Nagercoil Special will leave Velankanni at 13.00 hrs. on 28.08.2013 and arrive Nagercoil at 02.45 hrs. the next day.The composition of the trains will be 1 AC 2-tier, 3 AC3-tier, 8 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Valliyur, Tirunelveli, Vanchi Maniyachchi, Kovilpatti, Satur, Virudhunagar, Aruppukottai, Manamadurai, Sivaganga, Devakottai, Karaikkudi, Pudukkottai, Tiruchchirappalli, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam.





3)Chennai Central – Nagercoil – Chennai Central Special (via.Chennai Egmore): T.No.06005 Chennai Central - Nagercoil Special will leave Chennai Central at 17.40 hrs. on 07.09.2013 and arrive Nagercoil at09.30 hrs. the next day. T.No.06006 Nagercoil – Chennai Central Special will leave Nagercoil at 13.20 hrs. on 08.09.2013 and arrive Chennai Central at 05.00 hrs. the next day.The composition of the trains will be 1 AC 2-tier, 4 AC3-tier, 11 Sleeper Class, 3 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Chennai Egmore, Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Virudhachalam, Tiruchchirappalli, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti, Vanchi Maniyachchi, Tirunelveli and Valliyur. T.No.06006 will stop at Mambalam also.





Advance reservation for the above trains will commence on 25.08.2013.

देश के व्यस्त रेलवे स्टेशनों में शामिल जम्मू रेलवे स्टेशन पर लोगों को सुविधाएं उपलब्ध करवाने के लिए बैठक का आयोजन किया गया। बैठक में फिरोजपुर डिवीजन के सीनियर डिवीजनल कॉमर्शियल मैनेजर उपजीत सिंह के अलावा डिवीजनल ट्रैफिक मैनेजर, स्टेशन मास्टर जम्मू रेलवे स्टेशन अश्विनी कुमार, जेआरयूसीसी के सदस्य गंभीर सिंहचाढ़क के अलावा डीआरयूसीसी के सदस्य गुरनाम सिंह मौजूद थे।
गंभीर सिंह चाढ़क व गुरनाम सिंह ने स्टेशन पर और बेहतरी लाने के लिए अपने छह सूत्रीय प्रस्ताव बैठक में मौजूद अधिकारियों के समक्ष रखे। इसमें स्टेशन की सफाई के अलावा प्लेटफार्म की संख्या बढ़ाने, नए बुकिंग काउंटर खोलने, रेलवे स्टेशन में लगे स्टालों पर रेट लिस्ट सुनिश्चित करने के सुझाव शामिल थे।
इस मौके पर अधिकारियों ने उन्हें भरोसा दिलाया कि सोमवार को चेयरमैन नॉर्दर्न रेलवे स्टेशन के साथ होने वाली बैठक में यह सुझाव उनके समक्ष रखे जाएंगे और उन पर सोमवार को फैसला लिया जाएगा।

नागपूर-इटारसीदरम्यान रेल्वे मार्ग वाहून गेल्यामुळे तिस-या दिवशीही या मार्गावरील वाहतूक विस्कळीत झाली होती. दरम्यान , रविवारी जीटी एक्स्प्रेससह १६ गाड्याने उशिराने धावत होत्या.

२३ ऑगस्ट रोजी बरबतपूर- मगरडोह स्थानकांदरम्यान माचना नदीला आलेल्या पुरात रेल्वे पुलाची एक बाजू वाहून गेली. पुरामुळे रेल्वे मार्गाखालील ३० मीटरपर्यंतची माती , स्लिपर्स व वीज पुरवठा करणारा ओएचई पोल सारेच वाहून गेले. गस्तीवरील रेल्वे कर्मचाऱ्याच्या लक्षात हा प्रकार येताच या मार्गावरील वाहतूक थांबविण्यात आली. सध्या डाऊन मार्गानेच दोन्ही बाजूची वाहतूक सुरू आहे. त्यामुळे गाड्यांना उशीर होतो आहे. मध्य रेल्वेच्या नागपूर मंडळाचे विभागीय व्यवस्थापक बृजेश दीक्षित यांच्यासह अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारी घटनास्थळी तळ ठोकून आहेत. जवळपास दीड हजार कामगार या मार्गाच्या दुरुस्तीच्या कामात आहेत. ८ विशेष गाड्या घटनास्थळी दुरुस्तीचे साहित्य घेऊन घटनास्थळी रवाना झाल्या आहेत. प्रवाशांसाठी नागपूर (०७१२- २५६४३४३) , वर्धा (०७१५२- २५४१६७) , बैतुल (०७१४१- २३४९३०) येथे हेल्पलाइन सुरू करण्यात आल्या आहेत.

कुशीनगर: लंबी दूरी के ट्रेनों के संचालन सहित सात सूत्रीय मांगों को पूर्वाँचल भ्रष्टाचार संघर्ष मुक्त विकास मंच के कार्यकर्ताओं ने शनिवार को सहायक स्टेशन मास्टर का घेराव कर विरोध जताया और ज्ञापन सौंपा।
मंच के अध्यक्ष चंद्रभान कुशवाहा ने कहा कि बड़ी लाइन बने पूरे तीन साल हो गए लेकिन बड़ी ट्रेनों का संचलन सुनिश्चत नहीं हो सका। उधार की ट्रेनें चलाई गई जिसमें एक बंद हो गई दूसरी 31 अगस्त को बंद हो जाएगी। यह पूर्वाँचल वासियों के साथ अन्याय व धोखा है। कुशीनगर एक्सप्रेस को थावे होते हुए गोरखपुर वाया मुम्बई चलाया जाए। मांग में रेलवे स्टेशन प्रांगण में बुद्ध प्रतिमा स्थापित करने, यात्री सुविधाओं को दुरुस्त करना आदि शामिल था। कार्यकर्ताओं ने यह भी कहा कि यदि मांगे पूरी नहीं हुई तो जनांदोलन किया जाएगा।

The South Central Railways will start running a new train between Bidar and Bangalore from September 1, MP N. Dharam Singh said here on Sunday.The train will run thrice a week, leaving Bidar at 6 p.m. and reach Yeshwanthpur at 8 a.m. the next day. On its return journey, it will leave Bangalore at 7.30 p.m. and reach Bidar at 7 a.m. Mr. Singh said he would request to make it a daily train.Railway Minister M. Mallikarjun Kharge will inaugurate the new train here on September 1. A push-pull train will be started between Bidar and Humnabad from next month.Mr. Singh said he has requested officials “not to change the departing station or timing of the Intercity Express” from 7 p.m. to 5 p.m. because it “does not benefit labourers or businessmen who travel to Hyderabad frequently”.
