The marathon repair works stretched up to full four days on Nagpur-Itarsi rail section finally yielded some fruits on Tuesday. The land up to 40 feet beneath rail track was washed away in flooding waters of Machna river between Barbatpur and Magardoh railway stations on the Nagpur-Itarsi section, leaving the entire rail tracks hanging in air. The labourers struggled through narrow space, flooding waters, incessant rains and low accessibility as they finished the herculean repair works in record four days. However a total of 10 trains coming from north still ran late by up to 4-5 hours. Hazrat Nizamuddin – Raigad Gondwana express ran late by 9 hours on Tuesday. The traffic is expected to swift down by Wednesday.Nagpur’s Divisional Railway Manager (Central railways) Brijesh Dikshit also visited the site along with other senior officials and remained there till 5 days. More than 1700 labourers have been deployed to fix the problem.A release from railways informed that specials trains were pushed into to supply repair material on the site. The material included more than 140 wagons full of boulders, sandbags and sand stones. Six pokland machines, 2 JCB machines and 8 tractors have been pumped into service on site, the release added.The Barbatpur and Shahpur gram panchayat also supported in the repair works. |

The Southern Railway on Tuesday announced that the Chennai Egmore – Tiruchi Pallavan Express (12605) will be extended to Karaikudi from September 1. The train (12606) will leave Karaikkudi from September 2. The Chennai Egmore–Karaikkudi Pallavan Express (12605) will leave Chennai Egmore at 3.45 p.m. and reach Tiruchi at 9.20 p.m. It will leave Tiruchi at 9.35 p.m. and reach Karaikkudi at 11.25 p.m. the same day. The Karaikkudi – Chennai Egmore Pallavan Express (12606) will leave Karaikkudi at 4.30 a.m. and reach Tiruchi at 6.15 a.m. It will leave Tiruchi at 6.30 a.m. and arrive Chennai Egmore at 12.10 p.m., the same day. The trains will stop at Pudukottai on the extended portion. There is no change in the composition of the trains, a Southern Railway press release here said. बरेली : अब रेल कर्मचारियों को घायल होने पर सीधे श्री राममूर्ति अस्पताल में इलाज मिल सकेगा। अब रेलवे अस्पताल द्वारा रेफर करने की झंझट खत्म हो गई है। रेलवे बोर्ड ने इस संबंध में स्वीकृति जारी कर दी है। सीनियर डीविजन मेडिकल अधिकारी वेद प्रकाश ने बताया कि रेलवे अस्पताल के डॉक्टर द्वारा रेफर करने के बाद ही रेल कर्मियों को राममूर्ति में अस्पताल में इलाज मिल पाता था। लेकिन रेलवे बोर्ड द्वारा जारी स्वीकृति में कहा गया है कि रेलवे कर्मियों को गंभीर बीमारी, दुर्घटना, मेडिकल परीक्षण के लिए सीधे राम मूर्ति मेडिकल कॉलेज में इलाज मिल सकेगा। उत्तरीय रेलवे मजदूर यूनियन शाखा सचिव प्रकाश बाबू ने बताया कि करीब 23 सौ कर्मी मुरादाबाद मंडल में कार्यरत हैं। उनके परिवार को मिलाकर पांच हजार से दस हजार लोगों को इसका लाभ मिल सकेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि घायल होने पर उचित इलाज ने मिल पाने से कर्मचारी की जान पर तक बन आती है। लेकिन रेलवे बोर्ड का यह निर्णय सराहना का पात्र है। |

The South Central Railway will construct a rail dispatch point at Asifabad Road Railway station with the help of the Singareni Collieries Company Ltd.The project to cost Rs 28 crore is between Bellampalli and Sirpur Kagaz Nagar railway stations. Bellampalli area of (SCCL), which produces around six million tonnes of coal per annum, does not have a convenient rail dispatch siding at nearby railway stations, at present.Hence, the coal produced at Bellampalli area is being transported to the railway sidings at Ramakrishnapur and Sreerampur, which are 54 and 74 km away from the coal fields, respectively.Further, transport of coal from collieries to Ramakrishnapur and Sreerampur by road is causing pollution and involving with frequent accidents. Lack of convenient railway dispatch point is also affecting the incremental production of collieries in Bellampalli region, a release said.B. Nagya, Executive Director (coal movement), SCCL, handed over a cheque for Rs 13.60 crore on Monday to S.K. Agarwal, Chief Operations Manager, SCR. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the financial year to help Collieries commence coal dispatch from the Asifabad Railway station.Once a full-fledged railway siding is developed at Asifabad, it will help boost the production and transportation of coal from mines situated in Bellampalli area, the release said. |

MANGALORE: Indian Railways has renumbered six trains including the Chennai Egmore - Mangalore Central - Chennai daily express. Train numbers 16107/16108 Chennai Egmore - Mangalore Central - Chennai (daily) express will be re-numbered as 16859/16860 with effect from September 1. Train numbers 16865/16866 Karaikal - Ernakulam - Karaikal (daily) express will be renumbered as 16187/16188 with effect from September 1.Train number 12653 Puducherry - Mangalore Central (weekly) express will be renumbered as train number 16857 with effect from September 7 and train number 12654 Manglore Central - Puducherry express will be renumbered as train 16858 with effect from September 8. Train numbers 16857/16858 will run via Coimbatore Junction and will not stop at Podanur. Extension of these trains to Puducherry from and to Tiruchchirappalli will be notified later.Train 12998/12997 Hapa - Tirunelveli - Hapa (bi-weekly) express will be renumbered as 19578/19577 with effect from November 1 and 4 respectively. |

Four coaches of a passenger train derailed near Ringus in Rajasthan's Sikar district on Monday, disrupting rail movement on the Churu-Jaipur route.However, no passenger was injured in the incident as the speed of the train was slow, railway officials said.The train, Churu-Jaipur Holiday Special, derailed near Ringus yard. The reason for the derailment is yet to be ascertained.A relief train has been rushed to the spot and work to restore the track has started.Some of the trains have been partially cancelled due to the derailment. |
