रेल राज्य मंत्री अधीर रंजन चौधरी ने कहा है कि सोनीपत में प्रस्तावित रेल कोच फैक्टरी के निर्माण पर 2200 करोड़ रुपये खर्च होंगे। इसकी क्षमता सालाना एक हजार कोच बनाने की होगी, लेकिन शुरुआती दौर में हर वर्ष 400 कोच बनेंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि रेलवे स्टेशन की सुरक्षा के लिए राज्य सरकारों का सहयोग जरूरी है।
कस्बे के रेलवे स्टेशन के समीप भूमिगत पुल का शिलान्यास करने के बाद उन्होंने पत्रकारों से बातचीत की। उन्होंने कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री भूपेंद्र हुड्डा राज्य में रेलवे की सुविधाएं बढ़ाने के लिए पूरा सहयोग करते हैं। रेल कोच फैक्टरी बनाने के लिए उन्होंने करीब 400 एकड़ जमीन मुहैया कराई। प्रदेश सरकार इसी तरह से सहयोग करती रहेगी तो मिलकर काम करने में कोई मुश्किल नहीं आएगी। इससे प्रदेश में तेजी से रेलवे की सुविधाओं में इजाफा होगा।
उन्होंने कहा कि देश में ट्रेन के नीचे आने से मौत की घटनाएं दुखका विषय है। ऐसी दर्दनाक घटनाओं से विभाग भी आहत होता है, लेकिन इसमें रेलवे का कोई कसूर नहीं है। जनता को नियमों के विरुद्ध जाकर रेलवे ट्रैक पार नहीं करना चाहिए। ऐसा करना कानूनन जूर्म भी है। रेलवे देश में ट्रैक बिछा सकता है, गाड़ियां चला सकता है। सुविधाएं बढ़ाता है, लेकिन कानून व्यवस्था की जिम्मेदारी संबंधित राज्य की होती है।
उन्होंने कहा कि लोग रेलवे ट्रैक को पार नहीं करेँ, ओवरब्रिज से होकर जाएं। हर व्यक्ति की जान कीमती है और रेलवे मंत्रालय चाहता है कि राज्य इस मुद्दे पर सहयोग करें। छोटे स्टेशन पर भी सुरक्षा के इंतजाम करना उनकी जिम्मेदारी है, लेकिन इसमें राज्यों का सहयोग भी जरूरी है।

दिल्ली रेल मंडल का प्रयोग सफल रहा तो आने वाले दिनों में एसी कोच में सफर करने वालों को एसी खराब होने की शिकायत का सामना नहीं करना पड़ेगा। इसके लिए दिल्ली रेल मंडल ऑनलाइन एसी मॉनिटरिंग सिस्टम विकसित कर रहा है। इसके लिए पायलट प्रोजेक्ट की शुरुआत हो गई है।
ट्रेनों के कोच में एसी खराब होने की शिकायत आती रहती है। इससे यात्रियों का सफर दुश्वारियों से भरा हो जाता है। वहीं रेलवे प्रशासन को भी नाराजगी झेलनी पड़ती है। कई बार नाराज यात्री हंगामा करते हुए वैकल्पिक व्यवस्था होने तक घंटों ट्रेन रोके रहते हैं। इससे रेल परिचालन बाधित होने के साथ ही राजस्व का भी नुकसान होता है। इस समस्या से निपटना हमेशा रेल प्रशासन के सामने बड़ी चुनौती रही है।
इस समस्या को दूर करने के लिए दिल्ली रेल मंडल के इंजीनियर ऑनलाइन एसी मॉनिटरिंग सिस्टम विकसित करने में लगे हुए हैं। इसमें इंजीनियर अपने दफ्तर में बैठकर कंप्यूटर पर चलती ट्रेन के कोच में लगी हुई एसी की स्थिति पर नजर रख सकेंगे। कूलिंग व लोड की स्थिति के बारे में जानकारी हासिल करने के साथ हीं किसी तरह की खराबी का पता भी लगाया जा सकेगा। इसकी सूचना ट्रेन में तैनात कर्मचारी या नजदीकी स्टेशन को देकर खराबी को समय रहते ठीक किया जा सकेगा।
कंप्यूटर पर एसी के काम करने का रिकार्ड स्टोर होते रहने से भविष्य में इसमें होने वाली खराबी तथा इसके उत्पाद संबंधी खामियों का भी पता लगाया जा सकता है। यह व्यवस्था हो जाने से ट्रेनों में भेजे जाने वाले स्टॉफ की संख्या में भी कमी आएगी तथा उसे खराबी ढूंढने में मशक्कत भी नहीं करनी होगी। इस समय एसी के रखरखाव के लिए शताब्दी में दो टेक्निशियन तथा एक हेल्पर भेजा जाता है। वहीं राजधानी में पांच से छह कर्मचारी की टीम रहती है। इन ट्रेनों में ऑनलाइन एसी मॉनिटरिंग सिस्टम शुरू हो जाए तो इतने कर्मचारी भेजने की जरूरत नहीं रह जाएगी। इस तरह से मानव संसाधन का भी सही उपयोग सकेगा।
इस महत्वपूर्ण प्रोजेक्ट पर काम कर रहे इंजीनियरों ने बताया कि इस सिस्टम को विकसित करने में खर्च भी नहीं के बराबर है। इसके लिए एसी के कॉम्पेक्ट कंट्रोलर में सेंसर लगाया जा रहा है। फिलहाल जिस कंपनी का कंट्रोलर है, वहीं सेंसर लगा रही है। कुल मिलाकर कुछ हजार रुपये का खर्च आ रहा है, लेकिन इससे फायदे कई होंगे।
एसी के कॉम्पेक्ट कंट्रोलर में लगे सेंसर से इससे जुड़े कंप्यूटर पर जानकारी मिलने के साथ हीं संबंधित अधिकारी के मोबाइल फोन पर भी अलर्ट आया करेगा। इससे अधिकारी कंप्यूटर के सामने नहीं हों तो भी उन्हें चलती ट्रेन के एसी में किसी तरह की खराबी की जानकारी मिल जाएगी।
फिलहाल कालका शताब्दी (12005/12006) में पायलट प्रोजेक्ट के तौर पर इस सिस्टम को लगाया गया है। सफलता मिलने पर पहले शताब्दी व राजधानी ट्रेनों में इसे लगाया जाएगा। दिल्ली रेल मंडल से इस समय 11 शताब्दी व 14 राजधानी ट्रेनों का परिचालन कर रहा है।

The Southern Railway has extended its ties with leading private medical care providers to set up free medical assistance centres in its railway stations. Though such kind of medical assistance centres were set up in the past, those had become dysfunctional for some time now. Those centres have now been renewed by Railways in partnership with private hospitals.

The Southern Railway operates 434 suburban trains and 742 non-suburban trains every day. On an average, 2.4 million passengers travel in these trains in a day. With a view to benefiting the passengers, the free medical assistance centres will be set up in all railway stations.

“Medical assistance centers, as of now, are set up in Chennai Central, Egmore and Tambaram railway stations. In the first two stations, the medical assistance centers are provided by SRM Hospitals and in Tambaram station, Global Hospitals set up the center,” said an official.

These emergency medical care centers provide facilities such as first aid, ambulance, availability of medicines, medical equipments, wheel chairs and stretchers.

These centers also have qualified medical staffs and doctors. The centers will also conduct periodical health camps and medical awareness programs, the official added.

“All the centres will run on 24/7. Besides Chennai, we will be setting up medical assistance centers in Salem Junction with the help of Vinayaka Mission Hospital, Salem,” the railway officials confirmed.

NAGPUR: Though the Planning Commission is reconsidering the Rs.300-crore third railway line project between Nagpur and Wardha, the Nagpur Central Railway has opposed any such move.

Plan panel officials, on the basis of maps, were reconsidering the third line for Rs.400-crore Nagpur-Nagbhid (106km) broad gauge project under South East Central Railway (SECR). It has been given green signal in the 2013 railway budget. The execution of project will facilitate transportation of thermal coal from nearest coal mines.

When asked, Divisional Railway Manager, Nagpur Division Brijesh Dixit said, “The third line is very much needed and we have sent our views to the Planning Commission. Railways have already allocated Rs 10-crore for the project.”

Sources said Central Railway’s 65% traffic is to east-west direction while 35% is to north-south. Plan panel thinks if broadening of Nagpur-Nagbhid line would ease east-west traffic, why spend Rs 300 crore on a new line.

“Even in this situation, we need an additional line between Wardha and Nagpur to ease congestion from Howrah to Mumbai,” said Dixit.

BANGALORE: South-Western Railways will be constructing a world class railway station that can handle around five lakh passengers every day at Byappanahalli, shortly.The Railway Board recently approved the plan for the proposed railway station which will be the biggest in the zone. This station will have the capacity to handle around 100 pairs of trains.At present, Bangalore city railway station is the biggest railway station in the city and it can handle around 1.5 lakh passengers every day.The railway station will be designed to become a nodal point as it can be easily connected to all the major railway routes in the region. The concerned railway authorities and other state government agencies are making plans to provide easy access to the other modes of transport like BMTC and Metro for the passengers from the railway station. Provisions would be made to connect both Yeshwantpur and Bangalore City railway stations from the new railway station.At present both Yeshwantpur and Bangalore City railway stations are handling more passenger traffic than their capacity and it is not possible to introduce new trains from these stations.On an average, seven to eight new trains are introduced to the city every year and the new railway station is expected to meet the needs of the city for another 15 years.South-Western Railways Chief Administrative Officer S Vijay Kumar said, "For the first time in the history of the Indian Railways, this railway station will be constructed on publicprivate partnership basis. According to our estimates it will cost Rs 400 crore for laying the tracks and other railway works in the station. It may cost much more to provide passenger amenities and services.’’ Indian Railways is planning to develop 16 such railway stations in different parts of the country.

बुधवार को चंदौली जिले के कैंडिडेट्स को सेना की भर्ती रैली के लिए बुलाया गया था। भर्ती रैली में छंट जाने के बाद सभी कैंडिडेट्स वाराणसी जाने वाली इंटरसिटी एक्सप्रेस पकड़ने के लिए गोरखपुर रेलवे स्टेशन पहुंचे। ट्रेन में पर्याप्त जगह न होने के चलते, ये सभी इंजन की तरफ चले गए। इंटरसिटी का इंजन चालू हालत में प्लेटफार्म नंबर 2 पर खड़ा था।

ചെന്നൈയില്‍ നിന്ന് എറണാകുളത്തേക്ക് അനുവദിച്ച പ്രത്യേക തീവണ്ടി(06345)യിലെ ബര്‍ത്തുകളാണ് വെയ്റ്റിങ് ലിസ്റ്റിലേക്ക് നീങ്ങിയത്. ചെന്നൈയില്‍ നിന്ന് തിരുവനന്തപുരം വഴി തിരുനെല്‍വേലിയിലേക്ക് അനുവദിച്ച വണ്ടി(06745)യിലെ ടിക്കറ്റുകളുടെയും ബുക്കിങ് മിക്കവാറും തീര്‍ന്നുകഴിഞ്ഞു.

ചെന്നൈയില്‍ നിന്ന് മംഗലാപുരത്തേക്ക് സപ്തംബര്‍ 14-ന് സര്‍വീസ് നടത്തുന്ന പ്രത്യേക തീവണ്ടിയിലെ സെക്കന്‍ഡ് ക്ലാസിലേക്കുള്ള ടിക്കറ്റുകള്‍ ബുക്ക് ചെയ്ത് കഴിഞ്ഞു. എ.സി. കോച്ചുകളില്‍ മാത്രമാണ് ഇനി ടിക്കറ്റ് ലഭ്യമായിട്ടുള്ളത്.

പ്രത്യേക തീവണ്ടികള്‍ അനുവദിച്ചെങ്കിലും തെക്കന്‍ കേരളത്തിലേക്കുള്ള പ്രതിദിന വണ്ടികളിലെ വെയിറ്റിങ് ലിസ്റ്റിന്റെ നീളം ഒട്ടും കുറഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല. തിരുവനന്തപുരം മെയില്‍, തിരുവനന്തപുരം എക്‌സ്പ്രസ്, ആലപ്പി എക്‌സ്പ്രസ് എന്നീ തീവണ്ടികളിലെ സെക്കന്‍ഡ് ക്ലാസ് സ്ലീപ്പര്‍ ക്ലാസുകളിലെ വെയ്റ്റിങ് ലിസ്റ്റ് 290-നും 300-നും ഇടയിലാണ്. തേഡ് എ.സി.യില്‍ വെയിറ്റിങ് ലിസ്റ്റില്‍ പോലും ടിക്കറ്റ് ലഭിക്കാനില്ല.

ഓണത്തിന് പാലക്കാട് വഴി തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തേക്ക് ഒരു പ്രത്യേക വണ്ടികൂടി അനുവദിച്ചാല്‍ മാത്രമേ നാട്ടിലേക്കുള്ള യാത്ര സാധ്യമാവൂ. യാത്രക്കാര്‍ പലതവണ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടതിനാലാണ് റെയില്‍വേ രണ്ട് ഘട്ടങ്ങളിലായി മൂന്ന് തീവണ്ടികള്‍ അനുവദിച്ചത്. അതേ സമയം തമിഴ്‌നാടിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളിലേക്ക് പ്രത്യേക തീവണ്ടികള്‍ അനുവദിക്കാന്‍ ദക്ഷിണ റെയില്‍വെ യാതൊരു മടിയും കാണിക്കാറില്ല.
