Hubli : Minister of State for Railways K H Muniyappa here said doubbling and electrification of the rail route between Hubli and Bangalore will be taken up on a priority basis.Talking to reporters here last evening, he said the Railway Ministry has already submitted a proposal to the Railway Board and has been under active consideration.He said double rail line between Tumkur and Bangalore has been already completed. Work is in progress between Arasikere and Chikkajajur. Rs.1800 crore is required to complete the rest portion of the line.There is need of four years to complete the double rail line between Arasikere-Chikkajajur-Hubli and after the completion of doubling number of trains will be increased between Hubli and Bangalore.The ministry has already approved Gadag-Wadi and Kudachi-Bagalkot railway lines and tender process will begin in three to four months.With these two lines connectivity with North India will be facilitated more effectively. |
