In response to a request made by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the Haryana Roadways has agreed to introduce feeder buses services on eight routes, in order to connect Gurgaon and Faridabad with major Metro stations. The Metro stations that will be connected through the feeder buses are Badarpur, Tughlakabad, AIIMS, Kashmere Gate, Huda City Centre, etc.Sixty buses will be introduced on these routes and a frequency of approximately 15 minutes will be maintained, officials said.The Sikandarpur Metro will be connected with Kendriya Vihar, covering Golf Course, Huda City Centre and Rajeev Chowk through the feeder buses. Also, the Badarpur Metro station will be connected to Ballabhgarh bus stand through Sector-37 and Indraprastha Colony.Tughlakabad Metro station will be linked to Ballabgarh bus stand via Good Year Chowk, YMCA Chowk, Suraj Kund and others. Feeder buses will also run from Ballabgarh bus stand to AIIMS, through BATA More and also from Badarpur Metro station to Lajpat Nagar and others.Buses will also run between NIT Bus stand and AIIMS and between Ballabgarh bus stand and ISBT Kashmere Gate. Meanwhile, in view of the overwhelming response to the AC Volvo buses, being run between Gurgaon and Chandigarh via Indira Gandhi International Airport, the State Transport department has decided to increase the number of Volvo buses from nine to 15 from May 12.Stating this on Thursday, a spokesman of the State Transport department said Transport Director General Arun Kumar will launch the new buses on May 12 from Sector-29. On the same day, the city bus service will also be started and as many as 72 buses will start plying.In the first phase of the city service, buses will operate between four specified routes between 6 am and 11 pm. This service will be available at an interval of 10 minutes. Of the 72 buses, 15 are air-conditioned.
