Habibganj station of Bhopal is all set to become the first raiway station to be developed under public – private partnership. The contract has been awarded to a local firm knows as Bansal Group which will develop this station as per international standards and will maintain it for eight years. Besides this the company has been allotted four land parcels on a 45 year lease. Rs. 100 crore will be invested to rebuild the station and all four land parcels will be developed as commercial spaces. The Habibganj station will be converted into a world-class transit hub which will have shopping stores, restaurants, eateries, parking lots, among others. The station will be powered by solar energy and it will have facilities for differently-abled people. | ||
