Starving for fund Railways has found a saviour in the face of government itself. A fund of Rs 1600 crore has been allocated by government to Railways for CCTV installation on railway stations and bio toilets in all trains. This fund has been allocated under Swachh Bharat mission and Nirbhaya Fund. AK Mittal, Chairman of Railway Board said – through CCTV railway can keep close eyes on children trafficking and security of all passengers, while through bio toilets railway intends to make entire network a discharge free zone which will also increase life on tracks by preventing them from rust. Currently railway is installing 40,000 bio toilets and in the next fiscal year more than 30,000 bio toilets will be discharged. |
