Urban Administration & Development Minister Babulal Gaur has written a letter to Railway Minister CP Joshi urging him that Shatabdi Express should be run from Habibganj railway station. At present, the train is run from Bhopal railway station to New Delhi. In his letter, Gaur has informed the Railway Minister that Habibganj railway station is situated in the heart of state capital Bhopal. Therefore, Shatabdi Express should be run from here. He informed the minister that about 80% passengers who travel in Shatabdi Express reside in BHEL and other residential areas near Habibganj railway station. These passengers have to travel ten to 15 kilometers to board the train at Bhopal railway station. This increases burden on the road leading to Bhopal railway station. Passengers also face difficulties at Bhopal station due to crowding and frequency of other trains. Gaur has referred in his letter that the Railway Ministry is developing Habibganj as a world-level railway station. Habibganj railway station has been given ISO Certificate and Bhopal Express train upto Hazrat Nizamuddin is being run from here at present. |
