Routine inspection was conducted by south Western railways to ensure the quality of food served to passengers. This routine inspection also serves the purpose of curtailing unauthorized vendors in rail premises. If any unauthorized vendors are found in rail premises there is a provision of severe penalty to such vendors. To facilitate real time verification and action on complaints by passengers, railway has two control room numbers as 138 and 0836 – 2325390. South Western Railway also pointed out that a TV channel telecasted a news story regarding food quality on trains between Bengaluru and Hubballi clarifying that there is no such complain by passengers. It says that news report was one sided and objective as any tender is allocated by rules and procedure. Tender for catering services is allotted to M/S KMA Caterers and to monitor any kind of situation inspection of food quality is done every 15 days. | ||
