The first Chinese freight train from port city of Yiwu arrived in London last Wednesday. This train covered 8000 miles and took more than two weeks to cover the entire journey. The train carried clothes, shoes, suitcases and other made in China goods to London. This train intends to further enhance trade tied between China and UK. On January 1st the China Railway Express train left Yiwu and reached London passing through Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Germany, Belgium and France before entering UK though the channel tunnel. It took 18 days for this train that was packed with 34 containers on it. Chinese Railway operates similar trains to Germany and Spain and now in a similar fashion train to UK will also be operated on a weekly basis. |
