Sanskriti Express, an exhibition train launched in 2010 to commemorate the 150 birth anniversary of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, will once again chug into Visakhapatnam on November 18.The objective of launching the exhibition train is to disseminate the legacy of ‘Viswakavi’ to the younger generation.It has been running across the country since 2010, according to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Waltair Division M. Yelvender Yadav.The fully air-conditioned five-coach train would display the life, teachings, philosophy and works of Rabindranath Tagore. The train would arrive here on November 18 and remain here for two days i.e., on November 18 and 19.It would remain open for visitors from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Railway Exhibition ground, New Colony Road, Thatichetlapalem.The first coach of the Sanskrit Express named ‘Jibon Smriti’ would depict the life of Rabindranath Tagore through photographs while the second one ‘Gitanjali’ would exhibit his poems and songs.The third coach ‘Jogajog and Muktodhara’ would depict his literature, the fourth coach ‘Chitrarekha’ his paintings and other eminent artists and the last coach ‘Smaranika’ would exhibit and sell the handicrafts and other items of Santiniketan, founded by the Nobel laureate.Entry to the exhibition is free. |
