Roads leading to the Kanakadurga temple being spruced up With only four days to go for the Dasara festival, arrangements are going on at a brisk pace. Roads leading to the Kanakadurga temple are being spruced up for the festival. Barricading works have gained momentum and are likely to be completed by Saturday.Four queues from Vinayaka temple on the Canal Road are being put up. Of these, one line will be for free darshan and the other three will be for Rs. 50, Rs. 100, and Rs. 250 ticket-holders. A VIP line will be put up from Om turning on the ghat road. The temple management is making arrangements for supplying water sachets and extending medical assistance to devotees in the queue.The temple has planned to ply free bus services from the railway station and bus station to the bathing ghats and Vinayaka temple on the Canal Road. A free bus from Ashoka Pillar to Indrakeeladri would also be operated for the benefit of physically challenged and aged persons.The formation of queues, Annadanam, water supply, ghat road electrification, cloak rooms, chappal stand, toilets, and temporary dressing rooms are some of the arrangements being made for the devotees.Sanitation would be accorded top priority as thousands of people throng Indrakeeladri during the festival, Temple Executive Officer M. Raghunath said.The prasadam counters would be opened at Kanaka Durga Nagar and special counters would be in operation at railway station and bus station for the convenience of long-distance pilgrims visiting the temple. |
