Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) will soon roll out online recharge option for Metro smart cards. Through this the metro authority is eyeing to ease out commuting. It might take a month to introduce this facility. According to officials, before final launch we are testing the system. Once launched, this will be a time – saver for commuters as they can recharge their cards on the go and can board train directly. Commuters can avail the facility of smart card by paying rupees 100 at any Metro station across the city. Online recharge option for metro card is already available in Delhi and Mumbai. Recently, CMRL launched a combo card in association with SBI which works as a debit-cum Metro card. | ||
