Chandigarh: Team of Chandigarh XI defeated Northern Railways side by 2-0, in the ongoing 43rd SN Vohra - All India Gurmit Memorial Hockey Tournament, being held at hockey stadium, Sector 42.Neeraj strike a goal in the 42nd minute, while Trivani Parshad doubled the winning margin in the 67th minute. The Railways side failed to reduce the margin. In the second match, the EME Jalandhar defeated ITBP by 5-2. For EME, Salman Fringe scored the first goal in the 7th minute and again put the team ahead in the very next minute. He scripted both goals with his brilliant stick work and dodging the defenders. Sunil Kumar followed his teammate’s footsteps with scoring another goal in the 11th minute. Failed to clear the ball, EME side conceded a self goal in the 29th minute. But right-half, Avtar Singh covered the damages and put the score to 4-1 in the 42nd minute. High on performance, EME side scored the final goal through CK Chingapa in the 61st minute. For ITBP, Gagandeep reduced the margin in the 67th minute.In the last match, the Punjab Police team defeated Signals at 5-3. For Police side, Simrandeep scored three goals (4th minute, 14th minute and 58th minute), Ajay Kumar scored one at 39th minute, Inder Singh scored one at 70th minute, while for Signals Devki, Amritpal and Sandeep Kumar scored one goal each. |
